Unfortunately, Freshly is closed for business and no longer accepts new orders. For an alternative, we recommend Factor, which offers healthy prepared meals for a wide range of diets at affordable prices. For even more options, take a look at our curated list of the best meal delivery services on the market.
One of the most attractive features of meal delivery services is that you can cancel your subscription if you find it’s not offering a suitable solution for your lifestyle. While this might seem like a strange feature to look out for, it’s worth noting when you consider how expensive being trapped in a subscription can get over time.
Fortunately, Freshly has an incredibly straightforward cancellation process. In fact, through my extensive research, I found Freshly to offer one of the simplest cancellation processes of any meal delivery service. While Freshly – with its fully gluten-free menu – might be a great subscription for some, you might be looking for something a little bit different.
Thankfully, there are lots of other options out there for you. Factor is the best Freshly alternative, offering fresh meals ready in just 3 minutes. Home Chef is known for its diet-friendly meal options and for providing both meal kits and prepared meals, whereas Green Chef has a wide range of gluten-free meal kits for you to choose from for anyone looking to be more hands-on in the kitchen.
Freshly assigns a deadline to each subscriber that is dependent on your location and preferred delivery day. Typically, this deadline falls around 5 to 6 days before your delivery is due. You can find the details in your confirmation email and under each order’s delivery date.
As long as you cancel before your deadline, you won’t be charged for your next order.
Sign in / open account settings – Sign in to your account and open the Settings tab under your account in the top right corner of the page. Note that Freshly can’t stop your shipment for that week once your deadline has passed and it’s showing as either prepared or shipped.
Select Cancel Subscription – You can cancel your subscription, or make changes to your plan and delivery day, including skipping orders up to three weeks ahead of time. You can also choose to pause your deliveries for four, eight, or twelve weeks.
Complete a short survey – Before you can process your cancellation, you’re prompted to complete a short, three-question survey. Two of the questions are required, while the open-ended question is optional.
Confirm your cancellation – Once you’ve completed the survey, you’ll need to check the box confirming your cancellation and hit the Cancel my account button. Look out for the confirmation email to be sure your request has been processed.
And that’s it! Your cancellation has been completed. Before you decide to cancel your Freshly subscription, I recommend checking out my full-length Freshly review. There might be some nuances you learn about Freshly that could help it to become a better fit for you.
Even though your subscription with Freshly didn’t work out, don’t be discouraged. Thankfully, there are so many different meal delivery services available that you can easily find one better suited for your lifestyle.
While you might think that prepared gluten-free meals are hard to find, the good news is that there are many options available. Some of my favorite meal delivery services that are great alternatives to Freshly include Home Chef and Green Chef.
Factor is similar to Freshly, offering microwavable meals that are fresh and never frozen. Dishes are ready within 3 minutes, so you won’t find a more convenient source of healthy meals. The menu also has add-ons like breakfasts, smoothies, and desserts.
Our expert reviewer liked the range of dietary options on Factor’s menu. Out of 35 weekly lunches and dinners, most are keto-friendly or low-calorie. There’s also a small selection of vegan and vegetarian menus for plant-based dieters.
Factor also sets itself apart with a nutrition coaching service. Your subscription includes a free consultation with an in-house dietitian, who can guide you toward healthier eating habits.
Home Chef is an excellent option that allows for the ultimate customization of your meals. Each menu item has a Customize It option, providing multiple alternatives, including swapping, upgrading, or doubling up on some of the ingredients in each kit. (My colleague writes all about her meal kit selection in her expert full-length review).
You can also quickly view the allergen contents of each meal, making avoiding certain ingredients a breeze. You’ll find that Home Chef has a wide range of options for those interested in a gluten-free diet.
If you prefer prepared meals over meal kits, you can check out Fresh and Easy for delicious low or no prep meals.
Green Chef is another meal delivery service that offers an extensive selection of weekly meals to choose from. It’s sure to provide diet-friendly meals, including low carb, Plant-Powered, Keto + Paleo, and gluten-free.
Learn all about the details in this full-length review and find out how you can get the best deals with Green Chef. Suffice it to say that, if you’re looking to be more hands-on in the kitchen to prepare your meals, Green Chef’s meal kits are an excellent option for you.
Check out the Balanced Living plan and see some of the mouth-watering options available this week.
Green Chef eliminates any possibility of confusion by separately packaging each meal. Additionally, any unique sauces or marinades come prepared from the Green Chef kitchen, helping to cut down on extensive meal prep times.
Thankfully, there are plenty of other options out there if you feel like things just aren’t working out with your Freshly subscription.
You don’t have to feel committed to Freshly just because it’s certified gluten-free. There are so many other meal delivery services that offer well-priced, diet-friendly meals so that you can continue getting the nourishment you need without compromising on taste or budget.
While Freshly might not have been the best option for you, don’t be discouraged. I recommend trying out other great alternatives – like Factor, Home Chef, or Green Chef, to see if one of those is a better fit for your lifestyle.
