A high-protein, keto-friendly meal
Nutritional content: 670 calories
Ready in as little as 3 minutes
My overall favorite Factor dish is this keto-friendly pork tenderloin. In my experience, the service always does a great job with pork, and I loved this Italian-influenced approach. It’s high in protein and healthy fats while remaining gluten-free and low in carbs.
The titular pork tenderloin is marinated with red wine vinegar, olive oil, garlic, and Italian herbs. It is served over a bed of spinach and a creamy tomato sauce flavored with basil and parmesan cheese. The meal is rounded out with a generous helping of broccoli and mushrooms on the side.
If you have the time to spare, I recommend heating this in the oven rather than the microwave. The oven will keep the broccoli and mushrooms from becoming too soggy, and the pork slices will develop a bit of a crispy edge to add some textural interest.

This is another keto-friendly dish, this time with chicken breast as the star. You’ll notice some similarities between this and the previous pork tenderloin meal: both have a creamy sauce and a side of broccoli. This is a common template for Factor meals, but the service does a good job of providing new and distinct flavors to keep the menus from feeling repetitive.
The grilled chicken breasts are seasoned with Italian spices and topped with grape tomatoes and basil. The alfredo-inspired sauce is made with heavy cream and parmesan cheese. The roasted broccoli side dish is flavored with aromatic lemon-garlic butter.
While I always encourage you to choose your preferred cooking method, I think this is one dish that actually benefits from a simple reheat in the microwave. Chicken breast is easily overcooked, and there is a risk of it becoming dry if you reheat this meal in the oven.

A low-calorie, keto-friendly meal
Nutritional content: 560 calories
Ready in as little as 3 minutes
The Factor menu features a lot of keto-friendly meals, and this meal is one of the most popular. Barramundi is the most common seafood found on Factor’s menu, and it’s a great choice as it is one of the most sustainable fish options available today.
The tender barramundi filet is served with creamed kale and a classic garlic butter sauce. This rich and flavorful combination is rounded out with a side of chopped vegetables. The zucchini, onion, and red bell pepper are tossed in Italian herbs and roasted.
Personally, I find fish difficult to reheat. I would use a microwave to ensure even and dry cooking, but you may find you prefer the results of microwave cooking. Just be mindful if you are using a shared microwave, as fish can leave a lingering odor.

A keto-friendly meal
Nutritional content: 650 calories
Ready in as little as 3 minutes
This is a classic example of a keto meal, as it contains a high concentration of fats, a moderate amount of protein, and limited carbs. It’s also a highly flavorful dish that features an array of herbs, spices, and strong flavors like basil, oregano, green onions, garlic, and parmesan cheese.
The main source of protein in the dish is Italian-style pork sausage. It’s cooked down with spinach and portobello mushrooms to form the deconstructed stuffed mushroom. This combination is topped with mozzarella cheese and served alongside a generous portion of roasted zucchini flavored with red onions and balsamic vinegar.
I love that this dish is essentially a big bowl of tasty ingredients that are easy to reheat. This one will be just fine in the microwave, the oven, or anywhere you decide to cook it.

A keto-friendly breakfast add-on
Nutritional content: 650 calories
Ready in as little as 3 minutes
Factor’s menu includes add-ons like snacks, drinks, and breakfast items. This keto-friendly Sausage & Egg Skillet is among my favorite picks from this section of the menu. Add-ons come with an additional charge on top of the cost of your weekly meals, but they can be worth it if you need help rounding out your daily diet.
This classic scramble is centered around the main protein sources: scrambled eggs and crumbled pork sausage. This can’t-miss combo is served over a southwestern-style hash with potatoes, peppers, and onions flavored with chili and cumin. For a final, flavorful flourish, the scramble is garnished with cheese, green onions, and a chili-garlic crema.

A keto-friendly, high-protein dish

Cheesy Chicken & Peppers is essentially a cheesesteak with chicken. If you’re a fan of the Philadelphia classic with steak, peppers, and an iconic cheese sauce, this dish is the perfect health-conscious way to satisfy the craving.
In lieu of red meat, the main protein here is lean chicken breast. The cheese sauce, rather than the “whiz” you often see in Philly, includes a blend of provolone, parmesan, and cheddar cheeses. The main is topped with multi-colored bell peppers and served alongside roasted zucchini rather than on a carb-laden hoagie roll.

A pescatarian Gourmet Plus dish
Nutritional content: 840 calories
Ready in as little as 3 minutes
Gourmet Plus recipes are made with premium ingredients. They come with an upcharge of a few dollars per serving (depending on the exact dish) and are a great way to treat yourself. When testing Factor, we found that the Gourmet Plus meals were indeed a step above the standard meals.
This Chive & Garlic Salmon & Shrimp is a pescatarian-friendly meal, but diet-conscious people should note that Gourmet Plus dishes tend to be more indulgent. The “surf and surf” combo of grilled salmon and lemon-garlic shrimp is served over a bed of cheesy, smokey bacon grits. A side of roasted veggies with garlic-chive butter rounds out the nutrition.
Gourmet Plus meals like this are often best in the oven. Since you’re paying extra for the premium ingredients, you owe it to yourself to heat them up in the tastiest way possible. In this case, the oven is far preferable to the microwave.

A carb-conscious and low-calorie dish
Nutritional content: 440 calories
Ready in as little as 3 minutes
This Italian-inspired meal is a prime example of how Factor incorporates healthy carbs. While it presents like a traditional pasta-based meal, the noodles in this dish are gluten-free and low-carb. You have 2 styles of noodle, in fact: brown rice lasagnette pasta and zucchini noodles (fresh zucchini in long, thin slices).
Besides the pasta, this dish features a deeply flavorful bolognese sauce with ground beef and umami-rich mushrooms. The sauce is flavored with tomato, basil, and parmesan and topped with some additional mozzarella cheese. The zucchini noodles are topped with cherry tomatoes, and you can eat these separately or mix it all together.

A low-calorie vegetarian dish
Nutritional content: 410 calories
Ready in as little as 3 minutes
Factor’s low-calorie vegetarian dishes make up a small but significant portion of the menu. This pasta-based dish is a standout for people like me who love stuffed pasta. If you’re a strict vegetarian, there may not be enough choices for you. From the menu of 35 weekly meals, there are usually only around 5 that are meat-free.
This is a classic tortellini dish with some tasty toppings to keep it exciting. Most notable is the creamy basil and spinach pesto, but there’s also blistered cherry tomatoes to add some brightness and acidity. Hidden under the pesto, you’ll taste a melange of roasted veggies. Unfortunately, the simple green beans side dish is a bit underwhelming compared to the rest of the meal.
By the way, Factor’s menu is entirely gluten-free, so these tortellini are made with brown rice pasta.

A whole-food, plant-based meal
Nutritional content: 550 calories
Ready in as little as 3 minutes
Thai food is a perfect cuisine for plant-based dieters. The curry-based recipes are jam-packed with flavorful ingredients. As someone who enjoys meat, I never miss it when I’m eating a vegan Thai dish like this Thai Roasted Vegetable Green Curry.
I love that you can see all the whole vegetables and other healthy, yummy ingredients. This less-processed meal includes green beans, chickpeas, sweet potatoes, and red peppers – all roasted and served with an aromatic sauce. The creamy coconut lime brown rice is a classic side that pairs well with the curry flavors.
As I’ve mentioned, Factor’s meatless options are fairly limited. In fact, there is usually just a single vegan meal on the menu each week. While it’s tasty, that’s not enough for someone who eats vegan meals each day. You may find that a fully plant-based service like Purple Carrot is a better fit.
