Sorting through the best meal delivery services in Atlanta is no easy task. There are tons of options depending on your dietary needs, whether you prefer meal kits or prepared meals, and how much time you want to spend in the kitchen. Besides, more options are constantly popping up – so here’s how you can tell which one will best suit your needs.
Fortunately, my team and I have taken an in-depth look at the most popular options in Atlanta for this year. I’ve come up with a list of the best ones I think will suit a variety of needs, no matter what your specific preferences are. There are great options for meal kits and prepared meals that focus on meat, seafood, vegetarian, vegan, and even family-friendly options.
Overall, Factor is my top pick for this year. It offers a large menu of prepared meals that cater to lots of dietary options. Meals are tasty and ready in minutes – it really doesn’t get more convenient than that.
Factor – Best overall meal delivery service in Atlanta
Green Chef – Best organic meals
HelloFresh – Best meal kits for families
Home Chef – Best meal customization options
Fresh and Easy – Best quick meal kits
Opt for weight loss-specific meal plans
Choose from 34 prepared meals each week

Current deal: Enjoy 50% OFF your first box and 20% OFF the next 4 boxes!
Factor could be one of the best options for you if you’re looking to eat nutritious meals but don’t have much time to cook. You can choose meals that are specific to keto, plant-based, or even low-calorie diets. Each meal is also fresh and never frozen, chef-crafted, and has been designed by professional dietitians.
If you’re into fitness, there are some options specific to that as well. For instance, you can opt for high-protein options, or even low-carb if that’s what you’re into. The proteins are antibiotic- and hormone-free, and the other ingredients are non-GMO. I find that to be very interesting for a service offering prepared meals.
Factor is not just a meal delivery service: it's a holistic nutrition program. Each subscription includes access to a registered dietitian for personal consultations, offering you customized nutrition advice based on your unique goals and dietary needs.
In terms of cuisines, there’s a wide variety for you to choose from. For instance, you can order Latin American, Cajun, Italian, and more, though most seem to have an Americanized touch. To me, this is acceptable because it may make certain meals more kid-friendly, too.
You can heat up your meals in either your microwave or your oven, and detailed instructions are printed on every package. Some may be more suitable for one or the other, so make sure to read the instructions carefully before heating your meals.
Factor has a varied menu with enough keto and low-calorie meals to satisfy a range of dieters. Considering that it’s a diet-focused meal delivery service, it’s nice to see the addition of lots of add-ons and extras like smoothies, egg bites, quiches, pancakes, keto cookies, keto cheesecakes, and even extra meats and proteins.
Lastly, the minimum order for Factor is 6 meals per week, but you can order up to 18. Specific options include 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, and 18 – and with each bump in meals, you’ll also save more per serving. Prices start at around $6.19 per serving. Overall, I don’t find Factor to be the cheapest for prepared meals, but the quality of the meals is something I can get behind.
Prepared ingredients and sauces
Around 45+ recipes per week plus lots of add-ons
Dietary options include keto, Mediterranean, and more
Green Chef offers 45+ weekly dishes for you to select from. You can enter your preferred meal types at sign-up (such as Plant Based, Mediterranean, or Gluten Free), but this won’t limit your selection. It just means the menu will be ordered with the most relevant meals first.
You can order up to 6 servings of 3 or 4 meals per week, with most meals taking around half an hour to get on the table. Get more details about Green Chef’s healthy plans in our expert review.
In terms of add-ons, there are lots of those, too. You now get access to things like french toast, tossed salads, breakfast sandwiches, oatmeal, egg bites, muffins, extra shrimp, salmon, and bavette steak, just to name a few. Green Chef has one of the largest selections of extras I’ve seen, rivaled really only by Home Chef and HelloFresh.
It also provides you with healthy, organic meals that are packaged in eco-friendly boxes. These are some of the things that make this service a bit pricier. However, if you’re looking for good bang for your buck and don’t want to skimp on quality, Green Chef could be a good fit for you.
Green Chef’s recipe cards are very detailed and easy to follow, even if you’re a novice cook. This combination of health-conscious meals, eco-friendly initiatives, and a user-friendly experience makes Green Chef a top-notch choice for those who want to embrace a greener lifestyle while enjoying delicious meals. With Green Chef, you're not only feeding your belly, but you're also doing your part for the planet.
The minimum order here is 2 meals for 3 people up to a maximum of 4 meals for 6 people every week. Keep in mind that you can mix and match across any of the meal plans as well if you’d like to order more meals but don’t necessarily want the same type. Pricing starts at $5.99 per serving.
A selection of meals to suit almost every taste
More than 50 recipes each week
Plans include Veggie, Pescatarian, Fit & Wholesome, and more
Current deal: 18 free meals + first box ships free + 3 surprise gifts with code DR18HF
HelloFresh offers a large menu selection of convenient meals at budget-friendly prices. To me, that’s a nice combination. You can find meals that suit a variety of flavor preferences with most of them also being pretty kid- and family-friendly (for those who don’t like too much spice).
All meals are curated by chefs and include home-cooked staples such as Meatloaf Parm over Spaghetti Marinara, Sweet Chili Beef, and Green Bean Bowls. Get the full scoop on how they taste from my colleague who tried them out.
The delivery and packaging is another winning aspect of HelloFresh. Everything arrives neatly packed in a recyclable, insulated box with all ingredients for each meal kept separate, avoiding any cross-contamination. The ice packs keep everything cool even if you're not at home during delivery, a definite plus. You're also provided with detailed recipe cards that include step-by-step instructions, making the entire cooking process a breeze.
You can also choose from a variety of diet options as well such as vegetarian, low-calorie, family-friendly, and more. Each meal is labeled on the main site’s menu for easy identification. Recipes on the Quick and Easy plan guarantee less prep and clean-up and can be ready in as few as 20 minutes, which could be perfect for those busy weeknights.
If you’re worried about your current skill level in the kitchen, I wouldn’t be! HelloFresh lists the difficulty level of each of its recipes directly on the main site’s menu so you can know what to expect before buying. For instance, the difficulty levels are Easy, Medium, or Hard. But again, I would take the Hard difficulty level with a bit of a grain of salt.
Speaking of recipes, the minimum order for HelloFresh is 2 recipes for 2 people per week, up to a maximum of 6 recipes for 4 people. And, you’re able to mix and match across any meal plan, too. The specific meal plans include Meat & Veggies, Veggie, Family Friendly, Fit & Wholesome, Quick and Easy, and Pescatarian. Pricing starts at around $3.32 per serving. Keep in mind that, the more you order at a time, the more you’ll also save.
Customize It feature lets you personalize the proteins in your meals
30+ unique recipes per week, plus add-ons
Dietary options include carb- and calorie-conscious dishes
Home Chef’s Customize It feature allows you to adjust your meals according to your own tastes and preferences by upgrading, swapping or doubling-up on protein on selected recipes. One example is the Sirloin Steak and Truffle Mash. You could replace the steak with salmon, USDA choice strip steak, or even boneless skinless chicken breast. There’s a step-by-step guide with pictures on how this works in our in-depth Home Chef review.
Also, you can order 2, 4, or 6 servings per recipe, which is great for larger families. There’s a new Family Menu that filters out the best family-friendly dishes each week, which can help if you’re cooking for picky eaters. Dishes like the Bacon and Cheddar-Jack Meatloaf or the Greek Zucchini Tostadas are real crowd-pleasers.
There are also add-ons for you to choose from like extra proteins like chicken breast, soups, salads, breakfast frittatas, pretzel bites, lattes, cakes, bread loaves, smoothies, cheese spreads, and tons more. From what I’ve seen, it has one of the largest selection of add-ons of any competitor.
Another highlight of Home Chef is its user-friendly online interface. Navigating through the website is a breeze, even for the less tech-savvy among us. The well-organized menu, clear labeling of dishes based on diet and prep-time, make it easy to select your meals. There’s also a clear breakdown of ingredients, cooking instructions, and nutritional information for each meal.
Home Chef offers a variety of prep times for its meals including the 15-Minute Meal Kits, or the gourmet Culinary Collection dishes that take around an hour to make. You can also order Grill- and Oven-Ready Meals that only require you to cook them – no chopping, washing, or other prepping is involved.
The minimum order here is 2 recipes for 2 people per week – and the maximum is 6 recipes for 6 people. Prices start at $7.99 per serving.
A collection of oven-, grill-ready, and 15-minute meals along with salads
Choose any item from the regular Home Chef menu as well
Opt for the same carb- and calorie-conscious diets as Home Chef
Fresh and Easy is an offshoot of Home Chef, which delivers 15-minute meal kits along with several other quick-to-prepare meals. You’ll find a large collection of oven- and grill-ready meals, salads, and any add-ons and extras from the main Home Chef menu.
On top of that, you won’t have to do any extra prep work. Our reviewer mentioned that ingredients come prechopped and portioned so you don’t have to do any slicing, dicing, washing, weighing, or peeling. This makes the Fresh and Easy lineup of meals pretty convenient in my opinion.
The best thing is that you can get the same dietary preferences as Home Chef as well. You’re also free to mix and match meals from Home Chef and Fresh and Easy as well as you please, so you don’t have to feel limited.
You can also expect to get a wide variety of Express international dishes. For instance, you can get the Latin American-inspired Cheesy Salsa Chicken, Greek-Style Chicken with Orzo Salad, or even the French-influenced Prosciutto Cordon-Bleu Style Pasta with Swiss Cheese and Broccoli.
Fresh and Easy is focused on simplicity without compromising taste or quality. It understands that in today's fast-paced world, not everyone has the time or energy to prepare elaborate meals, but that doesn't mean you should have to settle for uninspiring or unhealthy food.
In addition to the no-prep meals, the cooking and clean-up process is straightforward and quick, thanks to the oven-ready packaging. This means less time in the kitchen and more time enjoying your meal and relaxing afterwards.
Fresh and Easy’s minimum order is the same as Home Chef at 2 recipes for 2 people per week – and the maximum is 6 recipes for 6 people. The maximum order means that Fresh and Easy could also be a good option for slightly larger families as well. Pricing starts at $7.99 per serving.
Adventurous menus at a very reasonable price
19 new recipes every week plus add-ons like desserts and protein packs
Dietary options include a Wellness plan and more
Blue Apron’s chef-inspired meal kits are ideal for those looking for a culinary adventure and those looking to try out international recipes. It has a good selection of both meal kits and prepared meals to choose from. These range from Chef’s Favorites, Ready-to-Cook, Craft, Make it Veggie, Family Friendly, Fast & Easy, and even special occasion Game Day dinners.
You may also like that all the ingredients are sourced from family-run farms, fisheries, and ranches (all of which practice sustainable farming). Read my colleague’s full-length review to learn more. Some of the ingredients it sources are also USDA-certified organic. If you’re particularly into saving the planet, you may also be interested to know that Blue Apron has become fully carbon-neutral.
All that said, it offers several plans for you to choose from. You can opt for the Signature plan for either 2 or 4 people, Vegetarian, or the Wellness plan for 2 featuring low-calorie recipes and lots of diabetes-friendly meals. The minimum order is 2 meals equaling 2 servings each per week.
Something that really separates the company is the Blue Apron Market. This is a collection of add-ons and extras such as pantry items like spices, wines and wine boxes, seasonal holiday boxes including turkey and roast beef, kitchen tools, utensils, and even some small appliances like microwave ovens. I can comfortably say that no other competitor on this list offers any of those things, except maybe spices.
Another thing that sets Blue Apron apart is its Premium-level recipes. These meals are made up of the highest-quality ingredients, take a bit more time to cook, and require slightly more skill in the kitchen. Keep in mind that you don’t have to be nervous about these if you don’t have much existing cooking skill. Detailed recipe cards are shipped to you with every order that are super easy to follow, and will guide you by the hand.
The minimum Blue Apron order is 2 meals of 2 servings each per week, but the maximum is 5 meals of 4 servings each. Keep in mind that, the more you order at a time, the lower your pricing will be per serving. Pricing starts at around $5.74 per serving.
Get diet plans that have been created by doctors
Choose from 150+ breakfast, lunch, and dinner items plus snacks
Diets include gluten-free, diabetic, heart-healthy, and more
BistroMD might be the best choice if you’re looking for weight loss meals. It offers meals that have been designed by physicians to help you lose weight and keep it off. Our reviewer mentioned that BistroMD is a good choice for those interested in weight loss, but don’t necessarily want to sacrifice flavorful meals in order to do so.
There are several available programs for both men and women. These include Men, Women, Heart Healthy, Gluten Free, Keto Flex, Diabetic Friendly, Vegan, and Menopause.
One thing I like most about BistroMD is its extensive menu filtering system. You can choose from a large selection of ingredients to include beef, chicken, turkey, pork, seafood, pasta, plant-based, and soups & stews. This will help you quickly whittle down the menu to only those ingredients you like most.
I like BistroMD’s holistic, science-backed approach to weight loss. Instead of merely offering low-calorie meals, it gives users a comprehensive weight loss program that combines delicious meals, practical advice, and ongoing support. This support extends beyond just meal delivery – when you sign up for BistroMD, you also gain access to a team of registered dietitians for consultation, as well as weekly program materials, newsletters, and unlimited access to web-based resources.
Lastly, you can get other meal types such as breakfast, lunch, and snacks. BistroMD offers a large assortment of meals that don’t just include dinners which is nice to see. The minimum order here is enough lunches and dinners for 5 days per week.
You can also get the Full Program, which includes 7 breakfasts and lunches, and 6 dinners per week. Dinner on the 7th night can be whatever you like to “take a break from dieting”. If you prefer to have BistroMD send you a 7th meal, that’s possible, too. Pricing starts at $8.24 per serving.
Martha Stewart-approved meal kits
Around 45 choices per week
Dietary options include vegetarian, vegan, low-calorie, and more
Marley Spoon’s collaboration with Martha Stewart offers up some of the highest-quality meal kits around. With more than 45 recipes on the menu each week including a few desserts, you’ll always have plenty to choose from. My colleague talks more about the menu and how the meals really taste in her tried-and-tested review.
With options for families, vegans, vegetarians, dieters, and more, there really is something for everyone. Total beginners should keep an eye out for those recipes tagged Under 30 Minutes – they’re a great way to learn the ropes in the kitchen. If you’ve been wanting to test out some recipes that push you slightly out of your comfort zone, these are the ones that would best fit the bill.
Marley Spoon focuses on high-quality ingredients. It prioritizes sourcing sustainable and seasonal produce and antibiotic-free meat. This commitment to quality shines through in the meals, resulting in dishes that taste as good as they look. I appreciate the clear and comprehensive recipes that take you through every step of the cooking process, too.
You can find a range of meal options with different prep times. Whether you want to whip up a quick weeknight dinner or indulge in a leisurely weekend cooking project, there’s something for you. Plus, its innovative packaging ensures that ingredients stay fresh until you're ready to cook, providing further flexibility for your meal preparation schedule.
Lastly, there are many cuisines you’ll get access to that suit various flavor preferences. You can expect Middle Eastern, Japanese, Filipino, Latin American, classic American, French, Italian, and Mediterranean meals. Marley Spoon also seems to do a good job of making each meal kid-friendly and accessible by not making the meals too over-the-top, spicy, fancy, or exotic.
Prices start at $2.99 per serving. You can order from 2 to 6 recipes per week for 2 or 4 people.
100% plant-based meal kits and prepared meals
20 entrees each week, plus breakfast and lunch options
Dietary options include high-protein, gluten-free, and more
Purple Carrot is for those who prefer a plant-based, animal byproduct-free diet. It has crafted various internationally-inspired meals based on real plants. Some other competitors rely too heavily on “fake” meats such as Beyond products which you won’t find with Purple Carrot. Check out all your options in our detailed review.
The service offers both prepared meals and regular meal kits. On top of colorful and healthy dinners, you can also get quick breakfasts and lunches that demand as little as 5 minutes of your time – plus a few plantry essentials like nut butter and miso.
Beyond vegan-friendly meals, Purple Carrot emphasizes an ethos of healthy living and sustainability. This is reflected in the commitment to providing meals that are not just delicious and convenient but also wholesome and nourishing.
Recipes feature whole grains, fresh vegetables, and a variety of plant-based proteins, ensuring that your meals are nutritionally balanced. Some enticing options include the Bali BBQ Tofu Sandwiches (a Less-Prep and high-protein option) and the Coconut Ginger Congee with Crispy Tofu (which you can make as spicy as you like).
Another noteworthy aspect of Purple Carrot is its commitment to environmentally-friendly practices. Its packaging is made from recyclable, biodegradable materials, and it provide clear instructions on how to properly dispose of each component. It also works to minimize food waste by delivering just the right amount of each ingredient.
Purple Carrot has 2 minimum order amounts, depending on whether you go for meal kits or prepared meals. For instance, if you opt for the prepared meals, it’ll be 6 1-serving meals per week. You can purchase a maximum of 10 prepared meals every week. The meal kit minimum order is 3 meals of 2 servings each per week, but you can get up to 4 meals of 4 servings each. Pricing starts at $8.50 per serving.
Cook most meals in fewer than 30-40 minutes
Choose from over 45 unique recipes per week
Dietary options include vegetarian, low-calorie, and dairy-free, veggie, and more
Dinnerly offers up an impressive number of dietary options at a very attractive price. There are several low-cost delivery services on the market – but I feel like Dinnerly gives you the best value for a budget price. You’ll even get antibiotic-free chicken and some organic produce, which is something I really like seeing.
For such an affordable service, you’ll also get access to a number of extras and add-ons. In our recent review, the reviewer pointed out that the Market add-ons include various grocery items, desserts, breakfasts, and snacks. The same can’t be said for most other budget-oriented meal delivery services in Atlanta.
What I like most about Dinnerly, though, is that you get a variety of meal options like one-pot, <30-minute, and no-chop meals. And, speaking of meals, in terms of cuisines, some of the most popular ones on offer include Asian, classic American, Italian, French, Latin American-influenced, and even Greek.
Dinnerly's emphasis on affordability doesn't mean it skimps on variety or flavor. With over 45 different meals to choose from each week, there's always something new and exciting on the menu to keep your taste buds intrigued. From Mediterranean-style salads to Asian noodle stir-fries, Dinnerly's meals capture a world of culinary diversity. Also, for those with special dietary requirements, it offers a range of vegetarian, dairy-free, and low-calorie options.
Each recipe includes a maximum of 6 steps, making it an excellent choice for busy people or cooking novices. The service does a brilliant job of streamlining the cooking process without sacrificing the end result – you'll get delicious meals that feel home-cooked, without the usual fuss and mess. Furthermore, the no-chop and under-30-minute meals are ideal for those hectic days when time in the kitchen is limited.
Dinnerly also prioritizes sustainability with meals portioned to minimize food waste, and they are packaged in recyclable materials whenever possible. This commitment to being eco-friendly resonates with many customers, who are increasingly aware of their environmental impact.
Dinnerly’s minimum order is 3 meals for 2 people per week. You can order up to a maximum of 6 meals for 4 people per week – and, keep in mind that the more you order at a time, the lower your price will be per portion. Pricing starts at $2.12 per serving.

Here’s what I considered when choosing the best meal delivery services in Atlanta. I highly recommend keeping these things in mind when making your decision:
Recipe selection: Choose a service that has meals you like. I always look for meal delivery services with lots of choices, and ones that change the menu often. There's nothing worse than eating the same thing all the time – at least for me!
Affordability: Choose a company that offers the right pricing for your budget, whether it be large or small. There are high-end options out there like Blue Apron, and much more affordable (but still high-quality) ones like Dinnerly. Opt for whatever works for you.
Dietary preferences: Go for what suits your palate and health goals. If you have specific dietary needs, aim for a service like Green Chef, which offers a wide range of options such as vegan, keto, and Mediterranean, among others.
Convenience: Choose from meal kits that require you to cook, or ready-made meals like the ones from Factor that can be heated in the microwave or oven. Grill-ready meals are also an option. Furthermore, some companies provide ingredients that come pre-cut for added convenience.
Factor offers some of the best fresh meals on the market today. Unlike some prepared meal delivery services, meals arrive fresh not frozen and are ready for you to heat in the microwave or oven.
The most affordable meal delivery service in my round-up is Dinnerly. It offers a wide range of family-friendly meals that are very affordable, starting at only around $2.12 per serving.
One of the top meal delivery services for weight loss-specific meals today is BistroMD. Its extensive range of plans were created by doctors to help with sustainable weight-loss. If you’re just getting started, it’s hard to go wrong with the Full Program, which includes 7 breakfasts and lunches, and 6 dinners per week.
