Planning and preparing meals that align with your fitness goals can get exhausting. It’s an especially time-consuming task if you have to do everything from scratch. Luckily, with services like Jet Fuel Meals, you can completely outsource the work and enjoy the results.

Jet Fuel Meals is a ready-made meal delivery service providing macro-balanced dishes. It offers a wide range of delicious meals that follow the macro and caloric requirements of specific diets. It’s a convenient way to help you lose, gain, or maintain weight.

I found the offer is diverse enough to sustain the needs of an adult on a diet, and I like the unique delivery system. However, I think Jet Fuel Meals is a bit on the pricey side, and I don’t like that you can’t choose your meals with this service.

In fact, I think Factor is a better alternative for many diets. Factor also has a more flexible and diverse menu, and its Add-Ons section is a lot more extensive. Jet Fuel Meals still has its strong points, though, so check out my review to learn all about them!

What’s on the Jet Fuel Meals Menu

When it comes to menu options and variety, Jet Fuel Meals truly takes the cake (or should I say the perfectly seared steak!). The company offers 6 meal plans encompassing a wide range of ready-made meals and extras that cater to different cuisines and dietary preferences. Jet Fuel Meals' meal plans

Meal Options

This menu has options for vegetarians and keto dieters. It also has you covered if you need to avoid specific allergens. While you can’t mix and match between meal plans, there are always new options.

The menu has a variety of flavors for everyone, from mouth watering Italian pasta dishes to flavorful Asian stir-fries and everything in between. Jet Fuel Meals understands that taste buds can get bored easily, so its chefs go the extra mile by updating the menu regularly to keep things fresh.

You won’t be able to choose your own meals, though you can omit certain ingredients. I wasn’t too happy about this at first, but then I learned the company works with a 16-week rotating menu. This means that for 4 straight months, the meals don’t repeat. The only exception is for fan-favorite meals.

The ingredients are sourced from local farmers and are always fresh for maximum nutrients. This way, you can rest assured that every meal is crafted with care and made from high-quality, fresh ingredients.

The 6 meal plans follow specific diets, such as keto, weight loss, pescatarian, plant-based, athletic, and maintenance. Each plan features meals tailored to meet the requirements of your diet.

The Keto Meal Plan and the Athletic Meal Plan, for example, offer different macros. The Keto plan features meals that contain, on average, 350 cal, 16 g of fat, 35 g of protein, and 8 g of carbs. The Athletic plan is designed to meet the demands of an active lifestyle, so it features meals that contain, on average, 550-620 cal, 8 g of fat, 58 g of protein, and 54 g of carbs. Comparison between Keto and Athletic Meal Plans

The menu changes each week, and most meal plans feature similar meals with slightly different ingredients. This way, Jet Fuel Meals manages to maintain variety and follow strict dietary needs at the same time.

For example, the Bellissimo En Pasta was on multiple plans. On the Keto Meal Plan, it included butternut squash, zucchini, and sundried tomatoes. The equivalent dish on the Athletic Meal Plan contained pasta, zucchini, and sundried tomatoes. Keto and Athletic meal plans menu comparison

Moreover, the Plant Based and Pescatarian meal plans have different menus. So, when I looked into the service, the dinner options were Shrimp Skewers (for pescatarians) and Broccoli Vegan Burger (for vegetarians). Also, there is a Kid’s Meal Plan that comes as an add-on. From here, you can add 2 daily meals perfectly portioned for children.

Jet Fuel Meal offers cold-pressed juices, organic shots, protein balls, and overnight oats as extras. The juices and shots are vegan and gluten-free and are designed to boost your energy. Cold-pressed juices retain most of the fruits’ nutrients, enzymes, vitamins, and minerals, so they are the perfect pick-me-up throughout the day. Jet Fuel Meals' Extras section

Overall, Jet Fuel Meals are a great option for a healthy and well-balanced diet. The menu is varied, but you don’t have much control over which meals will land in your box. If this is something that bothers you, have a look at HelloFresh’s offer – the menu is extensive (60+ options each week), and you are free to choose whichever recipes you want.

Diet

Is Jet Fuel Meals Good For This Diet?

Keto

Yes, there is a dedicated meal plan that features high-fat, low-carb meals.

Weight loss

Yes, there is a dedicated meal plan featuring healthy meals that promote weight loss.

Vegetarian

Yes, there’s a dedicated Plant Based meal plan with vegetarian and some vegan options.

Pescatarian

Yes, there is a dedicated meal plan with seafood options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Vegan

Sort of, there are just a few vegan options included in the Plant Based meal plan.

Gluten-free

No, Jet Fuel Meals is not a gluten-free certified service.

Customization

Jet Fuel Meals food comes ready-made, so there isn’t much room for customization. In fact, you can’t even choose the meals that will be included in your box or mix and match between meal plans. I understand this is part of following a strict diet, but it feels pretty strict.

However, you can exclude ingredients you don’t like or might be allergic to. Jet Fuel Meals lets you do this after checkout when you specify your dietary preferences. Still, if you are allergic to certain ingredients, keep in mind that there is a risk of cross-contamination since all the meals are cooked in the same facility.

If you also feel Jet Fuel Meals is a bit restrictive, you may want to have a look at Factor’s more-flexible service. The service offers over 35+ ready-made meals and an extensive menu of Extras that includes cold-pressed juices, smoothies, shakes, and vitamin shots.

Unboxing

All of Jet Fuel Meals’ recipes are served in microwave-safe, BPA-free containers. Each container is labeled with nutritional information, heating instructions, best-by date, and the name of the recipe. Your order is delivered in an insulated bag with ice packs. Jet Fuel Meals delivery bag and food containers

The meals arrive fresh (never frozen) at your doorstep every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. All the dishes are free from preservatives, and you can safely keep them in your refrigerator for around 3 days. There’s also the option of freezing them, but you may lose some of the texture and taste.

I actually like that you have to return the delivery bag and ice packs (leave them outside for the courier to pick them up). This reduces the packaging material used. However, Jet Fuel Meals doesn’t say anything about recycling its plastic containers (which are BPA-free and microwave-safe). So, the best you can do is check if the type of plastic is accepted by your community for recycling.

Factor is a comparable service with more straightforward recycling options. It also offers fresh ready-made meals in BPA-free plastic containers, and it’s a lot more transparent about recycling its packaging materials.

Cooking with Jet Fuel Meals

Jet Fuel Meals delivers cooked, fresh meals right to your doorstep. So, all you have to do is read the heating instructions on the label (available on the lid of each food container) and follow them. It usually takes around 2 or 3 minutes in the microwave.

If you choose to eat straight from the container, you’ll also have zero cleanup time. The cold-pressed juices and organic shots don’t need any prep or cleanup – you consume them as is, from their bottle. The overnight oats may require a few more steps, but make sure to check the label.

The dishes and extras will last for up to 3 days in the fridge, but you can also freeze them. However, with Jet Fuel Meals’ delivery system, you won’t have to freeze any of the meals.

Shortlist of My Favorite Meals

Jet Fuel Meals works with pre-defined plans and dishes that change every week, so it’s difficult to have favorites. Plus, all the meals focus on macros and calorie content to fit the dietary needs of each plan.

All the meals are designed to be delicious, so it’s easy to expand your culinary horizons. So, I can’t say I have favorite meals. However, while checking out the menu and plans, the Weight Loss and Plant Based meal plans caught my eye.

The Plant Based Meal Plan features dishes averaging 400 calories and 30 g of carbs per serving. These meals are portion controlled and include locally-sourced fresh vegetables and fruits. Also, the recipes are low in cholesterol and saturated fat. A typical meal on the Plant Based Meal Plan

The Weight Loss Meal Plan features dishes averaging 350-400 calories and 20 g of carbs per serving. All the meals are freshly-cooked, have no added sugar, and are made from fresh veggies and high-quality meats. A typical meal on the Weight Loss Meal Plan

Jet Fuel Meals also delivers breakfast and lunch options, so your daily meal plan is complete. Plus, I like that you can add healthy snacks and cold-pressed juices to your order. This way, you make sure to keep your cravings under control.

* You can order for 5, 6, or 7 days per week (depending on how many meals you want per day).

** Valid for Florida deliveries

I have to admit that Jet Fuel Meals’ pricing system had my head spinning for a bit. Prices per serving are dynamic and change depending on whether you want weekly or monthly orders, whether you want to include dinner or not, and whether you want to have meals for the full week or just 5 days of the week.

The more meals you order, the lower the price per serving will be. The exact price, however, depends on the plan you choose. For instance, if you choose the Ketogenic Inspired Meal Plan, 1 meal per day for 7 days per week, you’ll pay $59 without shipping (which is $15.99, in this case). This means that you will be paying $8.42 per serving.

If you choose the same options for the Athletic Weight Gain Plan, you will pay $64. Shipping stays the same, but your price per serving will be $9.14. This is easy to see why since these servings include bigger servings and more carbs and calories.

On the other hand, for the same options on the Plant Based Pan, you will pay $71.25. This makes your price per serving $10.17, which is higher than on the Athletic Weight Gain Plan. Moreover, the Pescatarian Plan will have you pay $81 per week, which makes the price per serving $11.57.

You also have to consider the shipping fee, which differs depending on location. The shipping fee for Florida is $15.99/ week or $60.99/month, while if you live in New Jersey, you’ll pay $20/week. There’s also a $6.99 new member fee and a $5 fine if you forget to leave your delivery bag outside for the courier to pick up.

In summary, I find Jet Fuel Meals to be quite a pricey service. In all fairness, it is a great help to have all the meals of the day cooked and ready to eat when you’re on a diet. But if you are on a budget, you may want to consider lower-cost options like HelloFresh.

Shipping & Delivery

Jet Fuel Meals delivers every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday by 6 AM (guaranteed). This way, the company makes sure you get fresh and high-quality meals with every order. Also, this schedule is valid regardless of your meal options (whether you choose a weekly or monthly subscription).

Jet Fuel Meals has kitchens in Florida, New York, and New Jersey, and all the meals are delivered locally. The company only delivers in parts of Florida (Miami-Dade County, Broward County, Palm Beach County, Orlando, Tampa, Lakeland, and Jacksonville), Eastern New Jersey, and New York City and suburbs. Jet Fuel Meals' delivery zones

So, before you check the menu, make sure your zip code is on the map of delivery zones. The company makes it easy by listing all the locations where it makes deliveries. There is also a zip code checker where you introduce your code and see if your area is eligible.

The delivery schedule is between 12:00 AM and 6:30 AM every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. This way, when you wake up, your fresh meals should already be at your doorstep. You can request later delivery times, but you have to get in touch with the customer service team for this.

How Jet Fuel Meals Works

The signup process is simple, and your account will be created when you place your first order. As a new customer without an account, you will have access to the current week’s menu for each meal plan, but you won’t be able to choose the ingredients you want to exclude until after the checkout.

How to Sign Up

  1. Start the process – Click on the Sign Up button in the upper-right corner of the page.

  2. Add contact details and zip code – Make sure to introduce the correct Zip code. Otherwise, you may not be eligible for delivery.

Creating an account with Jet Fuel Meals

  1. Select your meal plan – Here is where your order starts. Choose the meal plan you want, the subscription period, the number of meals per day, the type of meals, and the days per week.

First step to placing an order with Jet Fuel Meals

  1. Choose extras and review the order – On the next screen, you will have the possibility to choose the type and number of extra items you want (select nothing here if you don’t want extras). You will also see a summary of your order in the upper-right corner of your screen. Make sure you have everything you need and press Add to Cart.

  1. Decide if you want to add more – At this point during the sign-up process, you can add another meal plan, a Kids Meal Plan, and input any coupon codes you may have.

Decide whether to return to shopping or go to checkout

  1. Proceed to Checkout – Here, you will be asked to check your contact information and add billing details. Once these are done, confirm the order.

  2. Choose ingredients to eliminate and start date – At this step, you can exclude ingredients you don’t like or are allergic to and choose a start date according to the delivery schedule for the month.

  3. Wait for the confirmation email – If you’ve reached this stage, you’re done placing your first order and creating your account! Jet Fuel Meals will send you a welcome text and an email confirmation with more in-depth explanations as to how to manage your account.

Managing Your Subscription

All the Jet Fuel Meals plans renew once a week, but you have full control. You can edit, cancel, or pause your subscription at any time with no additional fees. There’s also the option to reactivate the account at a later date if you so choose.

Just make sure to respect the cutoff date, which is 48 hours of notice prior to the next delivery date. You can cancel/pause your subscription from your online account, or you can get in touch with the customer service team.

Customer Service

Jet Fuel Meals offers 3 contact channels – phone, email, and a contact form. The support team is available Monday to Friday between 8:00 am and 7:00 pm and Saturday between 11:00 am and 7:00 pm.

The company is also active on Facebook and Instagram, so you can reach them on these channels as well. Overall, the customer service team responds promptly to all requests and will work hard to solve any problems in a timely manner. However, waiting times can span for about a few days during busy times.

How Jet Fuel Meals Compares to Other Meal Delivery Services

  • Jet Fuel Meals vs. Factor: Both Jet Fuel Meals and Factor provide the convenience of having healthy meals delivered right to your doorstep. However, when it comes to extras, Factor takes the lead with a wider variety of add-ons, such as snacks, proteins, desserts, breakfasts, and juices. Also, Factor gives you complete freedom to customize your weekly menu according to your preferences and dietary restrictions.
  • Jet Fuel Meals vs. HelloFresh: HelloFresh offers meal kits that come with pre-portioned ingredients and recipes for you to cook at home. Also, HelloFresh's Marketplace has a wider variety of add-ons such as snacks, desserts, breakfast, ready-made meals, pantry items, smoothies, and juices. This gives customers more options to enhance their meals or satisfy specific cravings. Moreover, HelloFresh shines brighter when it comes to customization options.
  • Jet Fuel Meals vs. Blue Apron: Blue Apron is another meal delivery service that offers both meal kits and ready-made meals. Also, there are more customization options (for meal kits) and add-ons than on Jet Fuel’s menu. Blue Apron’s Add-ons section includes ready-made meals, cooked protein, breakfast options, desserts, and more. Unlike Jet Fuel Meals, which offers pre-made diet-specific meals for weight loss, Blue Apron focuses on delivering gourmet, healthy meals and offers several customization options.

The Bottom Line: Is Jet Fuel Meals Worth It?

Yes, Jet Fuel Meals is worth trying if your main goal is weight loss and you have the budget for it. The pre-defined daily menus offer you a convenient way to stick to the diet of your choice without giving in to cravings and temptations.

On the other hand, if menu variety and flexibility are more important to you, Factor may be a better option. With Factor, you have complete control over the meals that come in your weekly box and more culinary diversity each week. Ultimately, the choice depends on your specific needs and preferences.
