With a professional chef preparing your food, you’d expect to pay a little more each week for Senior Diet-to-Go than you would for another meal kit or delivery service.
But is that the case? The cheapest per-portion plan at Senior Diet-to-Go is just $8.57, which is actually cheaper than some other meal delivery services that don’t offer prepared meals.
Senior Diet-to-Go’s plans don’t vary hugely in the per-portion price – how much you spend depends on how many meals you order. You can only choose between five or seven-day plans, and then set the number of meals needed per day. If you choose the most expensive option (three meals a day for seven days), the total price is $179.99 per week at the time of writing this review.
For a cheaper option, I’d recommend skipping their breakfasts and making your own. You can get healthy breakfast ideas from their blog.

- The Vegetarian plan – This is ideal for ovo-lacto vegetarians looking for weight-loss results.
Senior Diet-to-Go Delivery
Senior Diet-to-Go offers both a “to go” home delivery service and a local pick-up service, depending on where you live.
It offers home delivery to almost all areas of the continental United States (you can check the delivery days to your area on the site). It also offers local pick up (with food sampling available, too!) in Baltimore, New Jersey, the Washington DC Metro area, and the greater Los Angeles area.
The Bottom Line
I enjoyed testing Senior Diet-to-Go for several reasons: no meal prep or cleanup, tasty food, and reaping the benefits of a therapeutic diet. Diet-to-Go promises significant improvements to your health by sticking to its meal plans, and there’s good reason to expect that promise to be fulfilled – even while managing diabetes or needing to lose a lot of weight.
I thought the meals were very reasonably priced. Overall, it worked out a little more expensive compared to other meal delivery services because I had to order meals for either five or seven days. However, when it comes to weight loss, you need to have a regular, weekly, controlled diet, so this helped maintain a routine.
All in all, I'd highly recommend Senior Diet-to-Go for anyone looking to lose weight, manage more delicate health conditions like diabetes, or simply eat more healthily.
