Just blocks from the Kia Forum, SoFi Stadium, and the upcoming Intuit Dome, 1010 Wine & Events is redefining the wine bar experience in Inglewood. Co-founded by sisters Leslie and Le Jones—lifelong residents of the city—1010 is more than a destination. It’s a vibrant tribute to culture, community, and culinary excellence. At the heart of it all is Leslie Jones, whose passion for wine, food, and her hometown shines through in every detail. Featuring the largest selection of Black-owned wines in the country and a menu that blends global flavors with local soul, 1010 offers something rare: a space that feels both elevated and deeply rooted. “We built this place for Inglewood,” Leslie says. “To create something beautiful, inclusive, and full of life.” From live music to weekend brunches, 1010 is where great vibes and unforgettable moments come together. In this Delivery Rank’s interview, Leslie shares the inspiration behind 1010 Wine & Events and why this dream could only be born in Inglewood.
As lifelong Inglewood residents, Le and I created 1010 Wine & Events out of a deep love and commitment to our community. We wanted to build something that reflected the beauty, culture, and resilience of Inglewood—something sophisticated yet welcoming, and unapologetically rooted in who we are. We didn’t see a space that highlighted Black-owned wines or offered an upscale experience in our own backyard, so we decided to create it ourselves.
At 1010, we were intentional about creating a space that feels like Inglewood—vibrant, soulful, and full of pride. We designed it to be more than a place to grab a glass of wine; it’s a space where people feel seen, celebrated, and connected. From the wines we pour to the events we host, everything centers around uplifting Black culture, local talent, and community. We want guests to walk in and immediately feel the heartbeat of Inglewood—warm, stylish, creative, and rooted in legacy.
Curating a wine list centered on Black-owned producers has been a deeply personal and purposeful journey for us. Growing up, our parents instilled in us the importance of supporting small and Black-owned businesses, and that value has shaped everything we do at 1010. Black-owned wine companies make up less than 1% of the wine industry in America, so we knew it was crucial to create a space that not only showcases these exceptional wines but also amplifies the stories behind them. We’ve spent time connecting with winemakers, learning about their paths, and proudly bringing their work to the forefront.
My favorite pairing on our menu, and the one I suggest most often to first time guests, is the House of Brown Chardonnay with our grilled prawns. The prawns are finished with a white wine and burnt shallot reduction made using the very same Chardonnay, which creates a beautiful harmony between the dish and the wine. The buttery richness of the prawns is perfectly complemented by the subtle creaminess and brightness of the Chardonnay. It’s a layered, elegant pairing that highlights both elements in the best way—and that’s why it’s my go-to favorite.
Whether it’s a relaxed evening with a glass of wine or a high-energy night with live music, we want every guest to leave 1010 feeling welcomed, connected, and a little more curious about wine. We created this space to be approachable—not intimidating—so people can explore and learn without pressure. Our hope is that guests walk away feeling more confident and comfortable discovering new wines, especially those from Black-owned producers, and that they carry that sense of joy and belonging with them long after they leave.
