Amici’s Catered Cuisine (Amicis Catering) began as a small neighborhood deli more than 40 years ago. In those early days, the focus was simple: serve high-quality food with warmth and care. As word spread and demand grew, the menu expanded beyond deli offerings, and soon customers began asking us to bring that same food and service to their gatherings. What started as fulfilling small catering requests gradually evolved into a full-time catering business, once it became clear that there was a real need for it.
Over the years, Amici’s Catered Cuisine has grown alongside the community. We’ve moved from sandwiches and daily specials to offering expansive, customized catering menus that range from casual luncheons/social events to elegant weddings and large-scale corporate/social events. While the business model has evolved, the heart of Amici’s Catered Cuisine has stayed the same: creating food that brings people together and crafting experiences that make life’s most important moments even more memorable.
Food has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up working in my parents’ Chinese restaurant, so I was surrounded by the sights, sounds, and aromas of the kitchen from a young age. That experience taught me early on that food is more than just nourishment — it’s an atmosphere, an energy, and a way to connect with people.
One thing I noticed, even as a kid, was that when people are gathered around a table enjoying a meal, they’re almost always in a good mood. Food has this incredible power to shift someone’s day, to spark conversation, and to bring joy. It connects people, families, and even entire communities. I truly believe that if we could all just break bread together and talk, the world would be a better place.
Quality begins with the people we partner with. Over the years, we have partnered with various vendors to ensure we’re consistently working with the highest-quality ingredients. These trusted relationships give us confidence in knowing where our food comes from and allow us to deliver the same standard of excellence to every client, every time.
We also pay close attention to seasonality. Designing menus around what’s fresh and in peak season not only delivers better flavor, but it also helps reduce environmental impact. By working with vendors who prioritize sustainable practices, we can feel confident that the food we serve is good for our guests and responsible to the world around us.

Growth is always in the back of my mind. Amici’s Catered Cuisine is not my first catering company — I also own Catering By Design, which was my very first catering venture and one that I still own today. Managing two catering companies in two different states has certainly come with challenges, but it has also been incredibly rewarding. It has given me perspective, resilience, and the ability to see how food and hospitality can connect with people in different communities.
Looking ahead, my hope is to continue expanding both companies so that we can reach even more people with our food. For Amici’s Catered Cuisine, that means building stronger partnerships with venues and event professionals, introducing innovative menu concepts, and continuing to strengthen our presence in the corporate and social event markets. For Catering By Design, it’s about deepening our roots while looking for smart opportunities to grow.
Ultimately, no matter how much we expand, the heart of both companies will remain the same: creating food that brings people together and offering hospitality that feels personal. If we can keep scaling that experience to touch more lives, then I’ll consider our future a success.
