It was during this unique wine-tasting experience that Alex, with his pure, soulful wines, managed to bring people together, sharing not just his expertise but a sense of camaraderie in a virtual space. Can you share the story behind the creation of Ysidro and how a virtual wine tasting inspired the idea for a special drink that celebrates slow living?
At the beginning of the lockdown, I attended a virtual wine tasting hosted by our friend Alex. I think I was so excited about the prospect of gathering with friends, even if only through Zoom, that the event loomed in my subconscious and made its way into my dreams. That night, after the tasting, I dreamt that my husband and I collaborated with Alex to create our own beverage. The next morning when I woke up, we ran into Alex at the beach. I told him about the dream I had and we decided to give it a go.
In a market dominated by various beverages, what unique qualities does Ysidro bring to the table, and how do you see it carving its own niche in the industry?
Asian Spirits and premiumization are two of the most sought after categories in the beverage industry. People drink less but they’re drinking better. Ysidro is the perfect sweet spot.
Ysidro seems to be a celebration of slow living. Can you elaborate on the philosophy behind the brand and how it aims to resonate with consumers in today's fast-paced world?
Ysidro is a luxury drink so when you set that stage that way the draw is to enjoy it and be intentional about the setting you enjoy it in. You probably wouldn't pound it although maybe some people do.
Can you discuss the flavor profile and ingredients of Ysidro, and how do they contribute to creating a unique and memorable drinking experience?
Ysidro is a mixture of Junmai Ginjo Sake, Organic Grapefruit, and Sea Salt. The blend of these ingredients creates a thoughtful and aromatic flavor. Beyond that, the carbonated nature of the drink brightens the experience of the ingredients on your palette. Making Ysidro a flavorful and refreshing tasting experience.
Looking ahead, what are your aspirations and plans for Ysidro, and how do you see the brand evolving in the future?
Right now, our focus is Central California. Another way to say it is owning our home territory. Beyond that, I'm pursuing high profile and high volume accounts, looking for a challenge and opportunity. I’m also excited to begin mixing a second flavor and to expand into new key markets across the country.
