Home Bistro’s process for canceling or pausing your subscription is simple: there isn’t one. It doesn’t actually need one as you technically never subscribe to Home Bistro’s service. The meals are all purchased without a recurring commitment.
This can be good, depending on what your needs are. It guarantees that you’ll never get an order you didn’t ask for, but it also makes it necessary to log back in and place an order whenever you want more food.
Compare it to a subscription plan that guarantees continuous deliveries, such as Sunbasket, which is pretty good at letting you skip deliveries or cancel your subscription.
If you want to cancel your Home Bistro account entirely and delete your information from the system, though, you’ll have to follow the steps I’ve laid out for you below.
Canceling your account or removing yourself from the database is not too difficult – it just requires an email. It takes about 24 hours to complete the process.
Sign in and find the Contact Us page – the link is in the bottom left-hand corner.
Fill in the email form – on the right-hand side of the page.
Wait for your reply and confirmation – it should come within 24 hours.
OK, you’ve decided that Home Bistro is not your cup of tea. That doesn’t mean you should give up on meal delivery services entirely. There are plenty of other services out there and one of them might suit your needs.
Take a look at some of my recommended alternatives before you make up your mind…
One of Freshly’s most notable claims to fame is its large selection of gluten-free meals. It also has other nutritious options, including a whole menu devoted to plant-based meals.
If, perhaps, you decided Home Bistro was too expensive, Freshly may provide a more affordable alternative. With dishes starting from $6.90 per serving when you order 12 per week, a Freshly subscription is a great way to have healthy, prepared meals to hand when you need them.
For more on the menu and pricing, check out our dedicated Freshly review.
If you found the range of dietary preferences at Home Bistro to be insufficient for your needs, you might find what you’re looking for at Sunbasket. Perhaps, you’re looking for more vegan options or just want a little more flexibility.
Sunbasket has plans that cover a variety of diets and lifestyles, including Gluten-Free, Paleo, Vegetarian, Carb-Conscious, Diabetes-Friendly, and more. Plus, it has menus for breakfast, lunch, dinner, additional protein packs, and snacks. Lastly, Sunbasket doesn’t lock you into specific plans – you can mix and match across all the menus.
For more information on Sunbasket, check out our expert review. Maybe you’ll find just what you’re looking for!
So, which chef do you prefer? Martha Stewart? Cat Cora? Daina Falk? It’s a largely subjective choice – unless you’re comparing their cooking to the cruel gruel I might concoct at home. But if you’re looking for celebrity talent and find Cat and Daina lacking, you might just want to give Martha Stewart’s Marley Spoon a try.
Marley Spoon’s menu is slightly different in that it comprises a range of meal kits alongside a few prepared dishes each week, but it’s also less expensive than Home Bistro.

Although the cancellation process at Home Bistro could be a little clearer, it really isn’t difficult. Just send an email – that’s all it takes! And if you do decide Home Bistro isn’t the service for you, there are plenty of other options to choose from, depending on what you’re looking for.

As Home Bistro isn’t a subscription-based service, it’s remarkably easy. Just don’t order and you won’t receive any food! Alternatively, you can remove yourself from the database by deleting your account with a single email.
In comparison, Sunbasket and others are subscription-based services, so they require a few additional steps.
Home Bistro markets itself as a gourmet service and its prices reflect that. As a result, all three of the alternatives I’ve suggested are cheaper than Home Bistro.
Your best bet would be to send an email and request to cancel as soon as you can. However, at the time of writing, Home Bistro has enacted a no-refund policy that states all orders on the site are final.
Other meal delivery services usually give a window of time to cancel orders. Freshly, for example, can cancel most orders as long as the request is made six days before the order is scheduled for delivery.
