Unfortunately, Home Bistro is closed for business and no longer accepts new orders. For an alternative, we recommend Factor, which offers prepared meals for a wide range of diets at affordable prices. For even more options, take a look at our curated list of the best meal delivery services on the market.
Home Bistro’s process for canceling or pausing your subscription is simple: there isn’t one. It doesn’t actually need one as you technically never subscribe to Home Bistro’s service. The meals are all purchased without a recurring commitment.
This can be good, depending on what your needs are. It guarantees that you’ll never get an order you didn’t ask for, but it also makes it necessary to log back in and place an order whenever you want more food.
Compare it to a subscription plan that guarantees continuous deliveries, such as Factor, which is pretty good at letting you skip deliveries or cancel your subscription.
If you want to cancel your Home Bistro account entirely and delete your information from the system, though, you’ll have to follow the steps I’ve laid out for you below.
Canceling your account or removing yourself from the database isn’t too difficult – it just requires an email. It takes about 24 hours to complete the process.
Sign in and find the Contact Us page – the link is in the bottom left-hand corner.
Fill in the email form – on the right-hand side of the page.
Wait for your reply and confirmation – it should come within 24 hours.
OK, you’ve decided that Home Bistro isn’t your cup of tea. That doesn’t mean you should give up on meal delivery services entirely. There are plenty of other services out there and one of them might suit your needs.
Take a look at some of my recommended alternatives before you make up your mind…
Factor’s menu includes a varied selection of healthy and fully-prepared meals that fit several dietary restrictions, like keto, high-protein, vegetarian, vegan, and low-calorie. The menu offers around 35 options each week, and all the ingredients used to cook the meals are sourced from trustworthy farms and ranches.
Most of the meals on Factor’s menu have an average of 600 calories, with few exceptions that go up to 900 calories per serving. Also, the recipes are formulated with the help of dietitians and nutritionists.
You can add more spice to your weekly deliveries by adding items from the Add-ons menu. According to my colleague’s impressive Factor review, the Add-ons section is just as varied as the core menu, with options for breakfast, lunch, and dessert.
Unlike Home Bistro, Factor also offers a free 20 min nutrition consult with a dietitian on the team. You can use this opportunity to discuss your eating habits and dietary needs with a professional.
If you like restaurant-worthy meals, then you must check out Blue Apron’s diverse menu. Just keep in mind you'll have to take care of the cooking!
Blue Apron’s offer includes recipes from different international cuisines, such as Mediterranean, Asian, Mexican, and American. Besides being delicious, some of the meals are designed for wellness, while others fit low-calorie requirements. Plus, the menu includes several vegetarian dishes and a good selection of Add-ons.
My colleague’s well-researched Blue Apron review goes more in-depth about the menu.
Overall, Blue Apron is more affordable than Home Bistro and manages to make restaurant-quality foods more accessible. Plus, you can improve your cooking skills with this service!
Try Marley Spoon if you’re looking for celebrity talent and find the options from Home Bistro lacking.
Marley Spoon’s menu is slightly different in that it comprises a range of meal kits alongside a few prepared dishes each week, but it’s also less expensive than Home Bistro. To learn more, check out our Marley Spoon review.

As Home Bistro isn’t a subscription-based service, it’s remarkably easy. Just don’t order and you won’t receive any food! Alternatively, you can remove yourself from the database by deleting your account with a single email.
In comparison, Factor and others are subscription-based services, so they require a few additional steps.
Home Bistro markets itself as a gourmet service, and its prices reflect that. As a result, all 3 of the alternatives I’ve suggested are cheaper than Home Bistro.
Your best bet would be to send an email and request to cancel as soon as you can. However, at the time of writing, Home Bistro has enacted a no-refund policy that states all orders on the site are final.
Other meal delivery services usually give a window of time to cancel orders. Factor, for example, can cancel most orders as long as the request comes in before the cutoff day.
