Epicured makes it really easy to pause your future orders in the account settings, without having to call customer support. That’s even the case if you purchased your meal box using Epicured’s special discount. |
When I tried out Epicured, I thought it was a great meal delivery service, but it might not be right for you. You may be looking to cancel your subscription for a variety of reasons. Maybe you’re already a customer and want to try out a different service, or, you might simply want to know how easy it is to cancel before signing up.
You’ll find the process to be straightforward. All you have to do to cancel your subscription is to head into your account dashboard. From there, you’ll be able to get the job done in about two to three simple steps.
Whatever the case may be, it’s very quick and easy to cancel your account, and you don’t even have to speak to anyone from support to do so. If you’re canceling because of the higher-than-average cost, I recommend checking out Freshly as it’s substantially cheaper.

Canceling your Epicured subscription is about as easy as it gets, and only requires about two to three mouse clicks in total. I recommend that you ensure you do this before your next order is processed – 1 pm EST on Fridays.

Cancelling your Epicured subscription might feel like a relief because of the somewhat limited menu, and higher-than-average prices. Fortunately, there are several great alternative meal delivery options that have way more variety, and far better prices.
You’ve probably noticed that it takes a bit of time to pinpoint the perfect meal delivery service. Since each service is generally very simple to cancel, there’s no harm in testing out a few options. No company wants you to feel “locked-in” as that’ll leave you with a bad taste in your mouth.
With that in mind, I’ve chosen three alternatives, one of which you might just fancy more than Epicured.
Freshly might be a better option for you if you’re looking for much more affordable meals and a larger selection of non-restrictive ingredients. You can also take advantage of this great Freshly offer – Get $175 off your first 7 boxes!. Whereas Epicured is great for those in need of gluten-free, low FODMAP foods only, Freshly also caters to those following a balanced diet.
Plans range from four to 12 meals and start at about $6.90 per meal. Freshly caters to many dietary needs as well including gluten-free, dairy-free, low-carb, and plant-based. It offers far more meal selection and variety, and protein add-ons, which Epicured doesn’t offer. Check out this great Freshly review for more information about the menu.
If you’re wondering whether Freshly will be worth it to you, I like that the cancellation policy allows you to discontinue your plan at any time if you’re not satisfied for any reason. As long as you do so before your next order is shipped out, you won’t pay any extra.
Sunbasket is different from Epicured in that its meals aren’t restrictive for the low FODMAP diet. Examples of diets Sunbasket caters to are low-carb, paleo, and gluten free. This means you’ll get a much larger selection and variety of weekly rotating meals. All of Sunbasket’s ingredients are also certified organic.
Something else I like about Sunbasket is that, if you’re more adventurous, you can opt for meal kits rather than prepared meals so that you can cook the meals yourself. Check out our Sunbasket review for a list of meals on offer. Sometimes you just want your food cooked your way, so this is a nice option to see.
You can choose between two to four servings for two or more dinners per week. Its meals start from around $4.27 per serving and range up to about $12-15.
ModifyHealth is a bit like Epicured in that it offers low FODMAP recipes. But that’s not all – it also offers a Mediterranean-specific program. All meals have been developed by dietitians and top chefs.
Additionally, all of ModifyHealth’s ingredients are gluten-free, non-GMO, and certified organic. You can learn more about this in my colleague’s full review here.. If you’ve been wanting to try out a different low FODMAP meal delivery service, it might be worth checking out ModifyHealth.
As with Epicured, all of its meals are prepared which means all you have to do is heat and eat them. This makes the process of eating and cleaning up as simple as it gets. Lastly, ModifyHealth always offers free shipping along with lower starting prices than Epicured. Prices start at $11.75 per serving.
It’s super quick and simple to cancel your account with Epicured. Simply log in to your account, cancel your subscription, and then confirm that you want to cancel it. Once you’ve canceled, you can try out these alternatives instead.
