In this FlexPro Meals review, discover the truth about this company and whether it’s right for you. This is a comprehensive guide in which you’ll learn about all of the different aspects of this company. It offers tons of benefits – but is it a scam, or are you genuinely getting nutritious meals that support different health goals?
I’ve done the research and have thoroughly vetted FlexPro Meals to discover the truth. I wanted to pull apart this company to get down to the nitty-gritty. I’ve looked at meal variety, ingredient quality, prices, customization options, ease of use (and managing your account), unboxing, prep, and tons more. You’ll even discover a few of my favorite meals.
Overall, I like what it offers and it could be the right choice for people looking for convenient, high-protein options. It’s also the best choice if you need food fast, as it’ll ship your first order on the same day. This is pretty unique as most services take a week from ordering to arrive, but with FlexPro, you’ll get your meals in a day or 2 tops.
Pros | Cons |
Convenient prepared meals | Extremely high in sodium |
High-protein, fitness-focused options | Higher cost compared to cooking at home |
Supports various dietary needs | Limited customization options |
FlexPro Meals provides prepared meals with a focus on high-protein and healthy options. These are ideal for people with active lifestyles or specific fitness goals.
There are 3 primary things you’ll find on the FlexPro Meals menu: Meal Boxes, Meal Prep Boxes, and Power Bakery items.
The fully prepared meals from FlexPro Meals come in various varieties. For example, you’ll find Italian Sausage and Orzo, Sesame Chicken, Gaucho’s Chicken, Mayan Meatballs, and more.
I also find there to be a pleasantly large menu of 32+ meals to choose from. That’s certainly highly appreciated. Though most meals look like they’re targeted for dinner, there’s nothing stopping you from having them for lunch (or any other mealtime you like). Nothing says that they must be consumed just for dinner.
However, you may want to reconsider having a bunch of these meals every day due to the sodium. Meals contain, on average, around 1,000 mg of sodium each, which is exceptionally high. Some are even much higher than that. If you eat 2 to 3 of these meals per day, you’re consuming way more than the recommended amount of daily sodium.
There’s a fairly respectable number of cuisines on offer. For instance, you’ll find Italian, Mexican, Asian-inspired, and even Cajun/Creole. Again, I do find that most of the meals tend to be quite Americanized to suit a more diverse palette.
If you prefer to customize your meals and put together your own, you can do that, too. Check out the Build Your Own Meals (Meal Prep Boxes) section for more information about how to do that.
Aside from the main meals, you can get various bakery items. FlexPro Meals calls these items the Power Bakery. The Power Bakery comprises high-protein cookies, cakes, and more. Some examples include The Golden Ticket, Assorted Peanut Butter Treats, and Monster Cookies.
I’d also say that most items are relatively kid-friendly. Though there are plenty of different cuisines to choose from, I’d say that they’re mostly Americanized. This means the meals are also not overly spicy or filled with exotic ingredients that kids wouldn’t enjoy.
Just keep in mind the high levels of sodium, which isn’t great for anyone – let alone kids. If you’re concerned about your kids’ sodium intake, I recommend steering clear of this service. At the very least, I highly recommend limiting the number of FlexPro meals you give to your kids.
There are several ways in which you can customize your meals or order. The first is by using the filters on the main menu.
A few examples of the menu filters include:
Keto
High Protein
Low Carb
Dairy Free
Gluten Free
For me, it’s awesome to see these menu filters. I’ve reviewed dozens of meal delivery services, and this is a feature I wish other competitors would offer.
Speaking of which, feel free to take a peek at our list of the best prepared meal delivery services this year. I think there are plenty of options that may suit you better than FlexPro Meals. If you do head over there, I recommend checking out Factor (which takes the #1 spot).
On that note, I love that you can exclude ingredients like dairy, gluten, beef, and pork. Keep in mind that doing so may limit your options. For example, when I chose Pork Free on the menu, I lost almost half of the menu options.
If you prefer to build your own meals from scratch, you’re in luck. There’s a really simple way to do that with FlexPro Meals.
If you don’t like the prepared meals, you can always build your own meals, too. Just choose Meal Prep Box in the top navigation bar to find a list of proteins, carbs, and veg. You can buy these in bulk to create your own meals.
If you have a severe allergy, you should look to buy your meals elsewhere. FlexPro Meals does have some information in the FAQ section about allergens, but it’s ambiguous. I checked the Terms and Conditions page, and it does appear as though all meals are prepared in the same facility. Therefore, cross-contamination can occur.

Everything you order comes inside a cardboard delivery box. Your prepared meals are sent out in a flash-frozen state. The meals are delivered in specially designed, insulated packages to ensure freshness. If the meals feel cold upon arrival, it's completely normal. Simply transfer them to your fridge or freezer.
Simply receive your package, stash the meals away in the fridge/freezer, and heat-and-eat when you're ready
It’s all neatly organized and labeled for easy recognition. For optimal meal safety, place them in the fridge or freezer as soon as you open your order.
You can store them in the fridge for up to 5 days or freeze them for as long as 6 months. And, for optimal taste and texture, let the meals thaw in the fridge for 1 to 2 days before eating.
FlexPro meals are dispatched in an "earth-friendly" recycled box, along with gel packs to ensure the meals maintain the right temperatures. Directions for storage and preparation can be found on the inner flap of the meal box.
There’s really no cooking since the meals are all prepared. The main meals need heating, which you can do in the microwave for about 2 to 5 minutes. FlexPro Meals claims you can heat the meals in about 1.5 to 2 minutes, but that's really going to depend on the strength of your microwave.
As for the bakery items, you can just rip open the package and eat them straight away. Alternatively, you may choose to warm them up for about 15 to 30 seconds if you prefer that. Lastly, items you receive in the meal prep boxes also just need to be heated in the microwave for a few minutes.
Keep in mind that you can place the items in your microwave as they come in the box. This includes the film that covers the individual meal packages.
If you decide to freeze your meals, just make sure to thaw them out for about 24 to 48 hours. Once they're thawed out, you can heat them as you normally would.
As I dive deeper into this company, I'm really liking what I see. There are a few standout meals that I would definitely order time and time again. I think you might like these as well.
However, again, each meal is very rich in sodium – so I recommend exercising caution and moderating your intake of these meals every day.
This classic Mexican dish features shredded pork, rice, avocado, and cabbage. You’ll also get some beans in there, along with cilantro sauce. Now that’s a match made in heaven in my eyes. However, it’s a bit high on sodium at a whopping 1,370 mg!
It features plenty of carbs (43 g) and protein (34 g) to keep those fitness aficionados happy and healthy. Aside from that, you’re also getting around 21 g of fat and a grand total of 500 calories. Not the largest meal in terms of overall calories, but it could be a great addition to your lunch or dinner.
Don’t be fooled by the subtle name: this is a classic Asian-inspired dish. It’s made with grilled chicken, jasmine rice, broccoli, stir-fry sauce, and sesame seeds. Just like the Carnitas above (and pretty much every other meal), it’s extremely high in sodium at 1,340 mg.
This one’s heavy on carbs (53 g) and moderate on protein (32 g), but it’s relatively similar to the Carnitas. Again, I think this is a solid option for those looking to optimize their workouts.
The Tinga Taco Mac is another one of my favorites. Served with ground beef, tinga sauce, macaroni, cheese sauce, and mayonnaise, I can’t help but get hungry when I think of it. It clocks in at around 1,170 mg of sodium – so again, on the high side.
If you’re someone like me who likes to eat high-fat meals, this 1 could be for you. It also features around 30 g of fat. This does drive up the calorie count to around 470, but it’s still fairly reasonable considering a full day of eating.
Starting From | Order Size and Price (Before Shipping) | Shipping Fee |
$10.99 per portion for regular-sized meals | 7 single-serving meals per week: $76.93 | $9.99 |
$13.49 per portion for large-sized meals | 7 single-serving meals per week: $94.43 | $9.99 |
$9.53 per portion for regular-sized meals | 15 single-serving meals per week: $142.95 | $9.99 |
$11.53 per portion for large-sized meals | 15 single-serving meals per week: $172.95 | $9.99 |
$8.50 per portion for regular-sized meals | 21 single-serving meals per week: $178.50 | $9.99 |
$10.55 per portion for large-sized meals | 21 single-serving meals per week: $221.55 | $9.99 |
At first, it may seem like pricing is overly complex and complicated. It’s really not, though, if you ask me – and I’d love to explain how it all works.
You basically get 2 prices for any plan you choose – a regular price and the Pro Plan price. Subscribing to the Pro Plan will drive down your per-serving prices. Shipping is a flat fee of $9.99 per box for deliveries in the contiguous US. If you live in Alaska or Hawaii, you’ll pay $25 shipping.
Prices start as low as $6.99 per serving, but only if you purchase the largest number of meals at a time. That would be 21 meals per week. You can also only get this special per-serving price if you sign up for FlexPro Meals’ Pro Plan.
The Pro Plan will reduce your per-serving price – but you'll be on the line for a 4-order commitment
Here’s how the Pro Plan works:
It’s free to sign up
Commit to 4 orders (4 weeks’ worth of meals) and pay weekly
Get a discount on your weekly meals for as long as you’re subscribed
Change your meals anytime
Get 1 “treat” each order
From there, prices tend to go up. For example, if you choose the basic plan of 7 large meals without subscribing to the Pro Plan, you’ll pay $13.49 per meal. If you subscribe to the Pro Plan, your price for 7 large meals would only be $10.99 per meal. That’s $2.50 in savings, which could add up in the long run.
An order of 10 regular meals (without subscribing) would mean $9.90 per serving. Bump that up to the large-sized ones, and you’re looking at $12.55. If you were to decide to subscribe, the regular-sized meals would cost you $7.99 per serving, and the large-sized ones $9.99.
The add-ons like the cookies, cakes, and protein (meats), cost around $8 to $13. For example, the Sous Vide Chicken add-on costs $8; the Prime Rib add-on $13, and any of the cakes cost $10. You do see the quantity you’re getting as well, which I find helpful.
You really have to be careful during checkout as there are tons of things it tries to add on. There were even a couple of add-ons included in my cart without me having noticed! That’s pretty sneaky.
That said, the company doesn’t necessarily advertise its add-on pricing right away. The only way to see prices for these items is to begin the checkout process (even if you don’t plan on buying anything). I recommend doing this so you can at least see how much everything costs.
You can also order what FlexPro Meals calls “by the pound” meals. For example, you can order many different proteins, carbs, and veg separately to put together your own custom meal.
Protein examples include:
Sous Vide Chicken ($4 per serving)
Prime Rib ($6.50 per serving)
Shrimp Scampi ($6.25 per serving)
Carb examples include:
Garlic Mash ($2.50 per serving)
Island Rice & Beans ($2 per serving)
Garlic Pasta ($2 per serving)
Veg examples include:
Hibachi Veg ($2.50 per serving)
Roasted Brussels Sprouts ($3 per serving)
Bourbon Glazed Carrots ($2 per serving)
Shipping is available to the entire US, which includes Alaska and Hawaii. It also costs a flat fee – but more on that in my Prices section. I’ve said this before, but I just love how simple this company is.
If you order before 3 pm EST between Monday and Thursday, your order will ship the same day. Otherwise, meals arrive the following Tuesday or Wednesday. If you’ve signed up for recurring deliveries, you can also expect your second (and subsequent) orders to arrive on Tuesdays or Wednesdays.
But if you’re a new customer, you’ll get your first delivery the day after you place an order, which I’ve not seen offered anywhere else. This is ideal if your fridge is bare but you don’t want to order unhealthy takeout or head to the grocery store. Just make sure to place your order while the countdown in the Same Day Shipping section on the homepage is running.
When your order is on its way, an email containing your tracking number will be sent. Deliveries happen via FedEx or UPS. Within this email, there's an option to receive text updates about your delivery's progress as well.
Any changes to your order need to be made by Monday at midnight CT before your next order. It’s super easy to use the website to manage your account, deliveries, or anything else. Find out how to manage your account.

Changing all aspects of your subscription couldn’t be simpler. There’s a handy video on the FlexPro Meals website about how to manage your account. It’s all fairly self-explanatory once you log in to your account dashboard. At this time, there are no apps available for FlexPro Meals.
Customer service is technically available via live chat and texts. You can text the team at (816) 888-3539. Agents are available from Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm CST.
Nevertheless, there’s also a fairly decent knowledge base (FAQ) that you can check out. It features answers to most questions you may have before signing up.
Factor offers a unique advantage by emphasizing not just convenience but also holistic health. With a team of dietitians crafting meals, Factor ensures optimal nutrition and taste. It also offers far more extras, sides, add-ons, and more, which FlexPro Meals can’t compete with. Just like FlexPro Meals, Factor’s meals are fully prepared and ready to heat.
I also like its commitment to organic, non-GMO ingredients and diverse menu options. These options cater to various dietary needs, making it a top choice for those prioritizing quality and health. Plus, its meals contain much less sodium than those from FlexPro Meals. Learn more in our Factor review.
If you’re looking to lose weight, BistroMD is your best bet. Unlike FlexPro Meals, BistroMD focuses on being a complete weight management system. The plans have been meticulously designed by physicians and rooted in nutritional science, ensuring that every meal is not just delicious but also tailored for optimum health and weight loss.
With its expansive menu of global cuisines, you're guaranteed variety without skimping on nutrition. It strikes the perfect balance of macronutrients, offering you the convenience of home delivery alongside meals that support your dietary needs and weight loss objectives. Purple Carrot offers 100% plant-based and vegan meal kits and prepared meals. Its range isn’t as varied as FlexPro Meals, but if you’re vegan or following a plant-based diet, there are still plenty of options.
You can get all kinds of internationally-inspired main dishes, sides, extras, and even snacks. Meals come in the form of prepared meals that can be heated in just a few minutes or meal kits that are ready in around 30 minutes. Find out more about its offerings in our Purple Carrot review.
Yes and no. I do love the convenience, variety, ease of use, and relatively low pricing, but the exceptionally high levels of sodium are certainly worth considering. If you’re just consuming a handful of these meals each week, it would be fine – but if you’re planning on eating several per day, you could easily far exceed the recommended daily sodium intake.
Aside from that, you’re getting a large variety of 30+ prepared meals from different cuisines. I like seeing this much variety. I also appreciate the high-protein snacks and the fact that you can build your own meals with different proteins, carbs, and veg.
However, ultimately, I strongly believe there are better options. You’re welcome to take a look at our list of the best prepared meal delivery services to get an idea of what’s out there. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised that you don’t have to feel limited by FlexPro Meals.
Any food in the world can be good or bad for weight loss. It’s all about how many calories you consume vs. how many you eat (calories in vs. calories out). That said, FlexPro Meals could potentially aid your weight loss journey. Meals average around 500 to 700 calories each, which makes tracking calories super easy.
Yes. If you need to cancel your account, simply give customer service a call, as I find this is the easiest way to do so. If you’re on the Pro Plan, just know that you must fulfill your 4-week subscription before you can cancel.
Yes, all of the food from FlexPro Meals is prepared. This means you just have to heat the meals and eat them. You can simply heat the meals in the existing containers for convenience.
Up to 6 months in the freezer, or a few days in the fridge. It’s recommended that you only store your meals for up to 5 days in the fridge. If you need to store them longer than that, simply place them in the freezer. Always make sure to thaw meals for 24 to 48 hours before putting them in the microwave to ensure thorough heating.
