B’Bites Snacks 2024: Guilt-Free Snacks Packed With Goodness
Billie Delfin, Creator and Founder of B’ Bites Snacks, tells us how snacking during the day can be nutritionally beneficial while satisfying sweet cravings.
What inspired you to create B’ Bites Snacks?
B’ Bites was launched in November 2013, after my husband and I lived in Europe while he worked abroad. I would send him off to work with homemade snack bars, which eventually became a huge hit with his colleagues.
I was amazed at the fresh, clean, and high-quality ingredients Europe had to offer and was inspired to continue making these delicious and healthy snacks when we returned to the US.
I come from a nutrition and wellness background, so I’ve always been interested in healthy eating, snacking, and baking on both a personal and professional level. I’ve also been interested in creating a product for those with dietary restrictions, allowing everyone to enjoy healthy, clean snacks.
Please tell us a little more about B’ Bites.
B’ Bites are dried fruit & nut snacks that are raw, gluten-free, dairy-free, and soy-free. They are handcrafted in small batches and made without oils, refined sugars, preservatives, or anything artificial. All of our snacks are Certified Vegan and made with organic and non-GMO ingredients.
The bars are square and have a soft and chewy texture. Each flavor is made with eight ingredients or less and they are all low in sodium and heart-healthy.
What nutritional value do your healthy snacks offer?
B’ Bites are a nutrient-dense snack, perfect to hold you over until your next meal. They contain potassium, iron, fiber, protein, omegas, B vitamins, and magnesium. We offer flavors with dark chocolate and peanut butter that will satisfy any sweet craving and keep you feeling fuller for longer.
Would you recommend B’ Bites for people who are trying to lose weight?
Refined sugars found in products like cookies and chips cause sugar spikes and weight gain. B’ Bites are made with dried fruit, which doesn’t cause sugar spikes and so can help maintain sugar levels throughout the day so you feel more energized.
When it comes to weight loss, choosing nutrient-dense snacks can satisfy hunger and keep you feeling fuller for longer, which in turn controls appetite. I highly recommend incorporating nutrient-dense snacks, such as B’ Bites, into any snacking regime unless you have certain dietary restrictions.
What kind of calorie content are we looking at compared to say, a fruit or energy bar?
Our squares (or bites) are just under two inches in size, and there are two squares in a small pack, which equate to a full-size bar when combined. Each square is between 70-90 calories. They are nutrient-dense but not calorie-dense.
Your focus should be on ingredients and nutritional content versus a simple calorie count. If you only look at calories when reading the nutrition label, then you often ignore whether or not the snack is actually healthy.
What about shelf life?
Our bars have a seven-month shelf-life and the nut and seed mix stays perfect for twelve months. Both can be stored in the fridge or on top of the counter.
Who makes up the bulk of your customer base?
I would say people aged between eighteen and forty. Also, those who are fitness enthusiasts, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, or just looking for a healthy snack to add to their diet.
What makes your snacks stand out from all the rest?
Their taste and texture are always a big hit, plus they offer a clean and simple low-ingredient option. They are handcrafted in small batches and made without oils and refined sugars. The fact they are both gluten-free and vegan is a big perk, as most snacks are usually one or the other.
