The Best Meal Delivery Services in Colorado Springs Reviewed

1. Blue Apron – Best Meal Delivery Service in Colorado Springs

a plate of gnocchi with mushrooms and tomatoes

Pesto Gnocchi with Mushrooms & Almond Breadcrumbs by Blue Apron

Key Features

  • Wine subscription service available

  • 70+ menu items each week, including breakfasts, desserts, and more

  • Dietary options include WW-approved, diabetes-friendly, and vegetarian

  • Current deal: Enjoy $180 off across your first 6 orders

Blue Apron allows you to create restaurant-style dishes in your own kitchen, thanks to its quality ingredients and exciting collection of recipes. The service is better known for its meal kits, which include twists on international and American favorites. You can also order wine to pair with your meals, courtesy of Blue Apron’s optional wine subscription

Blue Apron offers 5 plans to choose from when you sign up, but you can always order from the wider menu, no matter which plan you choose. The plans include:

  • Chef Favorites – the Test Kitchen’s top picks

  • Wellness – nutritionist-approved recipes and WW-Recommended meals

  • Family Friendly – kid-approved dishes, perfect for picky eaters

  • Fast & Easy – time-saving meals, including Heat & Eat options

  • Veggies – meat-free and plant-based meals

The company’s partnership with WW is particularly interesting. WW dieters can track their Smartpoints easily on tasty but low-calorie dishes like Turkey Kofta and Tzatziki-Dressed Salad. The service also offers recipe substitutions that make other Blue Apron offerings more diet-friendly. These are all part of the Wellness plan, which is largely inspired by the Mediterranean diet.

The other plans are equally popular, however, and our reviewer felt that the service was “great for families and anyone looking to put weeknight meals on autopilot.”. With crowd-pleasing meals like Creamy Tomato Fettucine with Asparagus and Thyme Breadcrumbs, Pimento Cheeseburgers, and Oven-Baked Pesto Gnocchi and Sausage, it’s hard to go wrong. You can also pick up microwaveable meals for those busier nights when cooking is out of the question.

The recipes are easy to follow, thanks to Blue Apron’s clear instructions and helpful online demos. This also makes it a great service for anyone who wants to up their game in the kitchen, giving you not just a bank of recipes to refer to in the future but the chance to develop your cooking technique.

Blue Apron’s add-ons also make it something of a one-stop shop. You can fill your weekly box with extras such as breakfasts, desserts, party bundles, prepared meals, and more. You can also order a la carte proteins, such as bacon, shrimp, and chicken breast pieces. The Market even includes kitchen utensils and Blue Apron’s signature spice blends.

Blue Apron’s prices start from $5.74 per serving. You can sign up to 2, 3, or 4 meals per week for either 2 or 4 people.

2. Factor – Best Prepared Meal Delivery in Colorado Springs

Chicken atop creamed corn with roasted cubed potatoes

Creamed Corn Chicken with Roasted White Cheddar Potatoes by Factor

Key Features

  • High-quality ingredients in every dish

  • 30+ prepared meals each week

  • Dietary options include keto, low-calorie, plant-based, and more

  • Current deal: Up to $276 off!

Factor’s prepared meals aren’t just quick, they’re healthy and delicious, too. Each of the dishes has been designed by dietitians and prepared by in-house chefs, before being delivered fresh. This is also a service that prides itself on the quality of its ingredients, so it’s little wonder my colleague gave the meals high praise for their flavor, when they put Factor to the test.

Factor also caters brilliantly to specialized diets, allowing you to choose from 5 plans:

  • Chef’s Choice – wholefood meals to fit any lifestyle

  • Keto low-carb, high-fat dishes

  • Calorie Smart – meals with 550 calories (or less) per serving

  • Vegan & Veggie – meat-free and plant-based options

  • Protein Plus – meals with 30g (or more) of protein per serving

Factor will particularly appeal to keto dieters and those looking for quick meals to fuel up with pre- and post-gym. The veggie and vegan options are modest in number compared to the range of keto and high-protein options, but they’re a great way to incorporate one or two meat-free days into your week. Those looking for plant-based options only will fare better with our list of the best vegan meal delivery services

The service also offers personalized nutrition coaching with registered dietitians – great if you’re looking for extra help with meeting your health goals. You’ll get a free 20-minute virtual consultation when you sign up, so you can work out which of Factor’s meals might work best for your lifestyle.

There’s a wide range of add-ons, too. Pick up extras such as smoothies, soups, cold-pressed juices, high-protein breakfasts, and keto-friendly snacks as you build your box each week. You can also order extra proteins – great if you’re bulking up or want extra protein for muscle recovery.

Factor’s prices start at $6.19 per serving. This makes it one of the more premium options on my list, but for many, the high-quality ingredients and diet-focused menu will be worth the cost. You can order between 6 and 18 refrigerated meals per week.

3. HelloFresh – Best Family-Friendly Meal Delivery Service

A bowl of chickpeas and zucchini over rice

Apricot, Almond & Chickpea Tagine with Zucchini, Basmati Rice & Chermoula by HelloFresh

Key Features

HelloFresh serves more than 2.6 million Americans and has meal kits down to a science. It always sits high on our list of the 10 best meal delivery services thanks to its top-notch customer service, easy-to-navigate website, and wide collection of recipes.

HelloFresh states that it offers 30+ recipes each week, but the number is often higher. It even has customization options on 12 meals each week, expanding your choices even further. This feature allows you to make protein and side swaps, like replacing potatoes with broccoli or adding steak to an otherwise-veggie salad.

HelloFresh organizes its menu into 6 plans that cover most mainstream diet choices:

  • Meat & Veggies – omnivorous meals

  • Veggie – vegetarian and plant-based meals

  • Family Friendly – kid-approved recipes

  • Fit & Wholesome – healthy meals with around 600 calories per serving

  • Quick and Easy – meals ready in less than 30 minutes

  • Pescatarian – dishes that contain seafood and veggies

The recipes are labeled by difficulty, with most rated “Easy” or “Medium.” If you consider yourself to be a novice, look for recipes with the Easy Prep and Easy Cleanup tags. That said, don’t be afraid to try some of the other more “complex” dishes. Our reviewer tried HelloFresh for themselves and was pretty impressed by how everything turned out.

While HelloFresh is a great all-rounder, it’s not best for those with dietary needs. With crowd-pleasing options like curries, tostadas, burgers, chicken, and hearty pasta dishes, it’s a safe bet for families but doesn’t offer meals that are keto- or paleo-friendly, for example. You will find some plant-based dishes, though, as well some labeled Protein Smart, Carb Smart, and Calorie Smart

There’s also an online marketplace for subscribers, where you can pick up extras like breakfast dishes, sides, salads, desserts, and treats. You’ll also find a la carte proteins and fresh produce to fill your fridge with, saving you extra trips to the grocery store.

HelloFresh is a service dedicated to sustainability, and you can find tons of information on the website about its commitment to reducing food waste, lowering its carbon footprint, and cutting back on packaging.

HelloFresh prices start from $3.32 per serving. Its wide range of serving sizes make it great for both families and couples, with the option to order 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 meals per week for either 2 or 4 people. Colorado Springs students, military, and veterans can also get a 15% discount.

4. Green Chef – Best Organic Meal Kits in Colorado Springs

A sauced salmon filet atop a bed of orzo

Salmon with Basil Pistou by Green Chef

Key Features

  • Meal kits with easy shortcuts, like chopped veggies

  • 30 recipes available each week

  • Dietary options include keto, high-protein, plant-based, and more

Green Chef was the first USDA-certified organic meal kit delivery service and remains a top choice for vegans, vegetarians, and keto dieters. The company is part of the HelloFresh brand but offers a more premium service, with higher-quality, organic ingredients and more complex recipes catering to specific dietary needs, including certified gluten-free options.

Green Chef offers 7 dietary-specific plans, but you’re free to order from the entire menu no matter which plan you choose when you sign up. The plans include:

  • Keto – low-carb, high-protein recipes free of gluten, grains, soy, and legumes

  • Vegetarian – balanced, meat-free recipes

  • Mediterranean – Med-inspired flavors with colorful veggies and healthy fats

  • Fast & Fit – calorie-conscious recipes ready in 25 minutes or less

  • Vegan – recipes with plant-based proteins, veggies, and grains

  • Gluten-Free dishes free from gluten and soy

  • Protein-Packed recipes high in protein

The Keto plan is particularly popular. With dishes like Creamy Paprika Shrimp with Green Beans, Pecans, and Cabbage Slaw, and Mediterranean Turkey Burgers with Artichokes, Roasted Peppers, Brussels Sprouts, Feta, and Almonds, Green Chef regularly makes our list of the best keto meal delivery services. The meals are also creative and satisfying enough that you’ll never miss those starchy sides.

The Protein-Packed meals average at around 40g of protein per serving – another reason why Green Chef is a great option for Colorado residents who are looking to lose weight, eat more whole foods, or whip up nutritious post-workout meals in the kitchen. The ready-made seasonings and prepped veggies make cooking easy, too.

I tried Green Chef at home and managed to create some of the best-tasting meals I’d had in a while. While this service does cost a little more than many others on my list, you get what you pay for. The organic ingredients and antibiotic-free proteins aren’t just healthier for you and the planet, they make for tastier dishes.

You can also order healthy add-ons to fill your fridge, including protein packs like chicken cutlets, ground beef, and salmon filets, plus breakfasts, high-protein snacks, and 10-minute lunches like the Black Bean and Cheese Burritos.

Green Chef prices start at $5.99 per serving. Order 3 or 4 recipes per week for 2, 4, or 6 people, with the option to order 2 recipes if you’re ordering for households of 4.

5. Home Chef – Most Customizable Meal Delivery Service

A plate of chicken and mashed potatoes with spinach

Hot Honey Bacon-Crusted Chicken with Rockefeller mashed potatoes by Home Chef

Key Features

  • Swap, upgrade, or double-up on protein

  • 30+ meals to choose from each week

  • Dietary options include carb- and calorie-conscious

Home Chef wins points for being a service that offers something for most people. Whether you’re a working parent looking for a fast family meal or a couple planning date night, you’ll find something to love thanks to its wide selection of quick-to-cook comfort-food classics and gourmet recipes.

Home Chef's ordering process is user-friendly. The menu provides clear timings, difficulty ratings, and spice levels for each meal. Customers can also exclude specific ingredients, but since the meal kits are prepared in facilities alongside allergens, Home Chef cannot guarantee zero cross contamination.

But this service really pulls ahead with its Customize It feature, which allows you to swap, upgrade, and even double-up on the protein in its dishes. The Hot Honey Bacon-Crusted Chicken (pictured), for example, can also be ordered with New York strip steak, sirloin, or salmon fillets. While many meal delivery services offer a few customizable meals each week, you can make changes on most Home Chef recipes – something that our reviewer loved when they gave it a go for themselves

Home Chef’s gourmet options include the Culinary Collection, which feature premium ingredients and more complex recipes designed for those with more time to cook. These start at around $15 per portion and many have been created in consultation with celebrity chefs, such as Rachael Ray.

For healthier options, look out for the green tomato icon. These represent Home Chef’s lighter carb- and calorie-conscious dishes. You’ll also find easy-prep kits, oven-ready options, and Fast and Fresh microwavable meals. Veggie options are there occasionally but aren’t consistent. While omnivores will find a lot to love about this service, if you’re vegan or vegetarian, you’ll fare better with a service like Purple Carrot

Add extras to your box each week, too, including family-sized protein and salad bundles, desserts, breakfasts, bread, snacks, beverages, and more.

Prices start at $7.99 per serving. You can order meals for 2, 4, or 6 people per week, making Home Chef a great option for bigger households.

6. Fresh and Easy – Home Chef’s Quickest Meal Kits

A plate of chicken with corn and zucchini

Jalapeño Popper Chicken with Corn and Zucchini by Fresh and Easy

Key Features

  • Prepared ingredients and oven-ready dishes

  • 14+ recipes to choose from each week

  • Dietary options include calorie- and carb-conscious

Fresh and Easy is Home Chef’s dedicated line of quick-prep meals. While subscribers will always have access to Home Chef’s wider menu and extras, this plan is great for anyone who wants to streamline their options to include only speedy recipes that can be on the table in minutes.

Fresh and Easy meals come with prepared ingredients that are ready to cook – so there’s no need to spend time slicing, chopping, and peeling. The Oven- and Grill-Ready meals come with a recyclable oven-safe tray or grill-safe bag, while the Express meal kits can be put together in just 15 minutes.

Here are some of Fresh and Easy’s meal types:

  • Fast & Fresh – prepared meals ready to heat in the microwave or oven

  • Oven-Ready – dishes you assemble in the aluminum tray provided

  • Express Meal Kits – 15-minute meal kits

  • Salads – simply toss the ingredients together and enjoy fresh

  • Extras – prepared desserts, bread, protein bundles, and more

Meals labelled with a Plus tag reflect the dishes that contain more premium ingredients such as steak, salmon, and mahi-mahi. Those tagged Family means they helpfully come in family-sized portions. It means no matter what kind of meal you’re looking for, Fresh and Easy will often have a quick-to-cook version ready and waiting, as our reviewer discovered

Fresh and Easy also lets you take advantage of Home Chef’s Customize It feature. If you don’t care for chicken, you can make the Jalapeño Popper Chicken dish (pictured) with pork chops instead. Just click on the Customize It tag below the recipe to see what your options are. Occasionally you’ll find a veggie alternative, but these are few and far between at the moment. The Fast & Fresh microwave meals are the only dishes that can’t be customized.

Like Home Chef, you can also pick up carb- and calorie-conscious meals. The nutrition info and allergens are always clearly labelled to help you make the right choices.

Fresh and Easy prices start from $7.99 per serving, though the meals are individually priced and customizations will affect your order total. The minimum order is 2 recipes for 2 people per week with a maximum of 6 recipes for 6 people per week.

7. BistroMD – Best Diet Meal Delivery Service in Colorado Springs

A plate of chicken casserole with a side of steamed broccoli

Chicken, Rice & Cheddar Casserole by BistroMD

Key Features

  • Physician-designed meals and dietary support

  • 150+ breakfast, lunch, and dinner items on rotation

  • Dietary options include gluten-free, diabetes-friendly, heart-healthy, and more

BistroMD brings you fresh, filling diet meals designed to help you lose weight. The dishes have been crafted with input from nutritionists and dietitians who work alongside BistroMD founder Dr. Caroline Cedarquist, a bariatric physician who launched the service to help her patients kickstart a healthier lifestyle.

There are 6 programs to choose from, all of which cover a number of medical conditions:

  • Signature base plans for both men and women

  • Gluten-Free – tested to FDA standards to contain no wheat, barley, or rye

  • Heart-Healthy – low-fat meals containing 600mg (or less) of sodium per serving

  • Diabetic Friendly – meals containing less than 25g net carbs per serving

  • Menopause – meals designed to help balance hormones

  • Keto Flex – a low-carb, metabolic reset program

All BistroMD meals arrive prepared and can be heated in the microwave in minutes. Low-cal, single-serving portions of classic comfort food is the main theme here – think Turkey Breast with Brown Herbed Gravy, Meatloaf, and the Chicken, Rice and Cheddar Casserole (pictured). And while you will find some veggie entrees, there are no vegan options.

The programs are designed to replace all your daily meals (though you can omit breakfast if preferred). This means no weighing out portions, calorie-counting, or trips to the grocery store. You can even add snacks to your order to help you stay on track. These include high-protein, high-fiber options like bars, shakes, granola mixes, cheesecake, and more.

The company promises high-quality ingredients in every dish, including some organic produce, though our reviewer suggested that it was a service that focused more on kick-starting weight loss than producing flavorful and morish meals. When you sign up, you’ll also have access to BistroMD’s in-house team of dietitians and fitness profressionals to support you when you need it.

Prices start at $8.24 per serving when you sign up to the full plan of 3 meals per day, 7 days a week. However, you can choose between 2 or 3 meals per day, 5 or 7 days a week. It’s also worth noting that BistroMD offers a 15% discount for couples and families.

8. Purple Carrot – Best Plant-Based Meals in Colorado Springs

A bowl of fried rice with chopsticks

Kimchi Mushroom Fried Rice with Bok Choy & Sriracha Aioli by Purple Carrot

Key Features

  • Vegan meal kits, prepared meals, and extras

  • 16 entrees each week, plus breakfast and lunch items

  • Dietary options include soy-free, nut-free, high-protein, and more

Purple Carrot is a great choice both for vegans and non-vegans who want to increase their plant-based food intake. Exciting and creative dishes like the Kimchi Mushroom Fried Rice (pictured) focus on clean proteins like beans and organic tofu, instead of the processed meat substitutes that many services offer as vegan alternatives.

This service also accommodates a number of dietary needs well. The menu is easy to navigate, thanks to tags such as High-Protein, Soy-Free, Under 600 Calories, Gluten Free, and Nut Free. This means you can easily find the meals that work for you, and the nutritional info is clear and easy to read on each dish.

Most importantly, though, the food tastes great. Our (meat-eating) reviewer tried Purple Carrot for themselves at home and agreed the variety and quality of the meals is more than good enough to please even the fussiest of omnivores.

Purple Carrot’s prepared meals are ready in 5 minutes or less. Simply pop them in the microwave, and you’ve got a hot meal ready to eat at your desk, or on the sofa after a long day. If you find that you don’t have many vegan options around your workplace, dishes like the Tamarind Curry Noodles or Vegetable Fried Rice will make a healthy plant-powered lunch.

You’ll also find extra lunch options and breakfasts and snacks on the menu. These come in different serving sizes (so always check before you order) but can include things like Tropical Chia Pudding, Pesto White-Bean Melts, and vegan snacks like cookies, crackers, and brownie bites.

The Less Prep meals on the menu are a great in-between, particularly if you like cooking your own food but often find that you’re short on time. These come with chopped and prepared vegetables, premade sauces, and methods that require fewer cooking steps.

Purple Carrot prices start at $8.50 per serving. You can order 3 or 4 meal kits per week for either 2 or 4 people, or bundles of 6, 8, or 10 single-serving prepared meals.

9. Dinnerly – Cheapest Meal Delivery in Colorado Springs

An ovenproof skillet full of ravioli

No Chop! Skillet Ravioli "Lasagna" with Fontina & Parm by Dinnerly

Key Features

  • Meal kits ready in 40 minutes or less

  • 100+ menu items each week, including desserts and breakfasts

  • Dietary options include vegetarian, no added gluten, and more

Dinnerly is, without doubt, the most affordable meal delivery service on my list, but it’s also great value. While some budget meal delivery services offer a limited menu, Dinnerly lets you choose from more than 100 items each week. In fact, our reviewer noted that Dinnerly’s menu offers you more choice than many higher-priced companies.

Dinnerly also brings you top-quality ingredients, such as antibiotic-free chicken,  vegetables sourced from family-run producers, and occasional organic items. While it doesn’t necessarily cater to specialized diets like keto, you will find veggie and some vegan dishes on the menu, plus extras like ready-to-bake desserts, prepared meals, and sides.

The menu largely comprises family-friendly takes on American classics. With plenty of No Chop! and other easy-prep options, Dinnerly is great for families with young children. Look for tasty sounding meals like the Saucy Beef and Ricotta Meatballs, Cheesy Taco-Spiced Turkey Rice Casserole, and Baked Popcorn Chicken with Smashed Potatoes.

The menu is large but fairly easy to navigate, with tags such as Under 30 Minutes, Dairy-Free, Kid-Friendly, No Added Gluten, Nutritious, One-Pot Meals, and more. If you suffer from specific food sensitivities or intolerances, the online Ingredient Hub will let you check every item on the menu for allergens.

Dinnerly keeps its prices low by limiting its paper and plastic use. This isn’t just cost-effective, it’s good for the environment, too. While many meal delivery services will package each ingredient separately (often in plastic), Dinnerly bundles its ingredients together in one box and lets you sort them out.

Dinnerly doesn’t include paper recipe cards, either. That means you’ll need to access the recipe via the app or website on your tablet or phone – which could be inconvenient for some. The recipes are easy to follow, but there’s no photography to guide you.

Prices start at $2.12 per serving. You can subscribe to 3, 4, 5, or 6 meals every week serving either 2 or 4 people.

10. Trifecta – Best Fitness-Focused Meals in Colorado Springs

A plate of salmon with brown rice and vegetables

Salmon, Brown Rice, and Mixed Vegetables by Trifecta

Key Features

  • Organic, macro-balanced prepared meals

  • 100+ entrees on a rotating weekly menu

  • Dietary options include keto, paleo, Whole30, and more

Trifecta offers fitness- and health-focused plans for almost every kind of diet. Whether you’re looking to lose weight, bulk up, or take your training to the next level, the service’s prepared meals and tailored plans could be an easy way to meet your health goals.

All the meals promise to be free from GMOs and preservatives and refined, processed ingredients. With a focus on quality nutrition, most of the plans are Chef’s Choice, which means your meals are chosen for you each week. This is great for anyone who wants to put healthy eating on autopilot, but it might not appeal to some, though you can select one or two ingredients that you’d like to exclude from a limited list  – think mushrooms, tree nuts, shellfish, etc.

Trifecta offers 6 different high-protein meal plans, these include Keto, Paleo, Clean, Whole30, High Protein Vegan, and High Protein Vegetarian, and you can order up to 3 meals per day on each one. For more flexibility, you might prefer to build your own box using Trifecta’s a la carte Meal Prep menu, which includes a range of proteins, carbs like brown rice, sweet potato, and quinoa, and veggie sides. This option also works out cheaper per serving, but will require some more prep and macro tracking on your part.

Subscribers will also get access to Trifecta’s nutrition experts and online resources, including forums where you can connect with fellow Trifecta community members. With health and nutrition articles, daily challenges, and the option to track your progress via the Trifecta app, our reviewer agreed that this service makes sticking to a healthy diet really simple.

Trifecta prices start at $6.00 per serving. You can order 5, 7, 10, or 14 single-serving lunch and dinner entrees per week, with the option to add on 7 breakfasts, too.

Tips for Choosing the Best Meal Delivery Service in Colorado Springs

With so many options, finding a service that best suits your needs can be overwhelming. Here are some professional pointers on choosing a meal delivery service that’s right for you:

  • What’s your schedule like? Look at the menu of each service and work out if the cooking and prep times work for you. If you love to get creative in the kitchen, a service that delivers fresh ingredients and recipe cards could be the perfect option. For those short on time, a prepared meal delivery service could be the better choice. For something in between, Fresh and Easy offers super-speedy meal kits.

  • Do you have dietary needs? While many services are getting better at offering vegan options, those who prefer to stick to a plant-based diet should look for services that offer a dedicated menu, such as Purple Carrot. If you’re a keen keto dieter, Green Chef and Trifecta are also worth a look.

  • Can you afford it? Check the price per serving on the plan you need and take into account things like shipping costs and how frequently you’ll still have to visit the grocery store. Dinnerly, our most inexpensive service, gives you great value for your money.

  • Is the service flexible? All the services I've mentioned have excellent cancelation policies, but some make it hard to skip weeks, modify orders, or terminate subscriptions. Look for flexible services, especially if you travel often or are likely to tire of the menu. And remember, if a service isn't meeting your expectations, don't hesitate to switch.
