Gobble places customer satisfaction above all, which is why it’s really easy to pause orders or cancel the subscription altogether. And you can do this without having to call customer support – even if you purchased your meal box using Gobble’s special discount!
As someone who loves cooking but doesn’t have time for it, I understand why Gobble isn’t for everyone. First of all, it’s a bit on the pricey side and you still have to put together the meal (you get the prepped ingredients).
So, if you’re looking for a similar service, but at a more affordable price, I think Blue Apron is a great alternative.
Regardless of your reasons to move on, I’ll walk you through the process of how to cancel Gobble and I’ll tell you a bit about the top alternatives you can try.
Log in to your Gobble account – Go to the Gobble website and find the Login button, in the upper-right corner of the window.
Find the Delivery Calendar – This is the section where you can find your future orders for the following weeks. Here, you can change orders, skip a delivery, and more.
Click on Deactivate My Account – Gobble deactivates your account (it doesn’t delete it) in the hopes you may want to re-activate it sometime in the future. You’ll then receive a confirmation email. Once you ask for your account deactivation, the process isn’t complete until you receive the confirmation email.
Gobble provides users with all the tools they need to change their order, add or subtract dishes from the order, skip a few weeks in a row, or deactivate the account. However, you have to keep in mind that all these changes must be submitted before 11:59 pm local time zone on the Wednesday before the following week’s delivery.
If you miss the deadline, there’s still the option to reach out to the customer service team and ask for their help. If possible, they’ll try to help implement the changes, but you may still receive the order in the form that it was before you submitted the changes. In this case, the changes will apply starting from the following order.
Log into your Gobble account – Your account is automatically created with the first order, so if you’re a Gobble customer, you already have an account. You can use this account to edit orders, play with the delivery schedule, or cancel your subscription.
Find the Delivery Calendar – Once you’re logged in, go to the Delivery Calendar section and click Manage Delivery (if you wish to skip or edit an order). If you’re sure you want to cancel, look for the Deactivate My Account button.
Keep in mind that, regardless of the change (skip, address change, meal change), Gobble will ask for your reason. The company does this to gather insight from users, so if you have something to say, now is a great time.
Click on Deactivate My Account – You’ll have to provide a reason for your decision (again, gathering feedback), and then your account will be marked for deactivation. It may not happen right away, but once you click the button, the process is started.
Confirmation email – Make sure you receive that confirmation email! Also, there have been some accounts of users who still got a delivery notification even after they received the confirmation email. If this happens, get in touch with the customer service team and they’ll help you out.
Just like Gobble, Blue Apron is a meal kit delivery service targeted toward a more mature audience. I mean, the offer includes a wine pairing service – what more could you want out of a fine dining experience at home?
The menu is designed around the idea of healthy eating and wellness, and Blue Apron’s vegetarian menu seems better stocked (although, not by much). However, the meal prep is lengthier and you can end up spending as long as 60 minutes in the kitchen.
Still, according to my colleague’s amazing Blue Apron review, it’s worth spending the extra time for the menu diversity and the freshness of the recipes. Plus, if you find Gobble a bit pricey, Blue Apron’s price ($5.74 per serving), will definitely convince you to make the switch!
The Sunbasket menu is quite similar to Gobble’s because it includes a diverse selection of foods for breakfast, lunch, and dinner plus snacks. But the main difference is that Sunbasket offers both meal kits and prepared meals.
My colleague’s detailed Sunbasket review, shows the prices (for both meal kits and prepared meals) are more affordable than Gobble. Also, Sunbasket constantly offers amazing promotions. For instance, this promotion is running right now: $90 off Plus a Free Gift!.
Freshly is the best Gobble alternative when you can’t be bothered to do any of the cooking. Plus, it has more plant-based meals than any of the other two contenders.
I love how it takes cooking out of the equation, and the only thing you need to do is set the microwave timer. But it’s not just about convenience! Our expert Freshly review also shows that the meals are designed to contain less sugar and fewer processed ingredients.
Therefore, Freshly is a great service for people who want to have a healthy lifestyle but don’t have the time or the inclination to do the cooking.
I honestly think Gobble is a great meal kit delivery service. The company works hard to deliver high-quality ingredients and delicious recipes, and I like that there’s always something new on the menu.
However, it’s not for everyone. And if you do decide to give it up, Gobble won’t hold you hostage. It’s easy to deactivate your account in just a few easy steps. Plus, you’ll have plenty of alternatives to try!

Yes. You can edit your current orders or cancel your subscription in just a few easy steps. Plus, Gobble allows users to edit their delivery schedule a few weeks ahead. This way, if you go on vacation, you don’t have to worry about checking in every week.
Blue Apron is a great alternative to Gobble because it features a diverse menu designed to support a healthy lifestyle and has lower prices. Overall, both services offer foods made with healthy ingredients and pay attention to nutritional content, but the main difference is in the price per serving.
Gobble’s deadline is 11:59 pm local time zone on the Wednesday before the following week’s delivery. However, if you miss it, you may still have a chance if you manage to get to customer service in time. If not, your changes will apply starting the following week.
