Finding meal delivery services that cater to the Mediterranean diet can be challenging. While there are tons of meal delivery services to choose from, not all will offer a specific Mediterranean plan – but I’ve come up with 10 that fit the bill.

My team and I have researched and tested several of the best options for this year to bring you the ones that put an emphasis on healthy foods like whole grains, fruits, vegetables, seafood, beans, nuts, and more.

But Blue Apron won’t be for everyone, and my list includes options for all kinds of diners, from serious athletes to busy families. Ready to find yours? Read on to see my research on the best meal delivery services for Mediterranean dieters.

The Best Mediterranean Diet Meal Delivery Services Reviewed

1. Blue Apron – Best Overall Service for the Mediterranean Diet

Blue Apron's Crispy Skin Salmon & Orzo with Lemon-Caper Sauce

Blue Apron's Crispy Skin Salmon & Orzo with Lemon-Caper Sauce

Key Features

Blue Apron’s entire Wellness menu has been inspired by the Mediterranean diet. You’ll find recipes like the Crispy Skin Salmon and Orzo with Lemon-Caper Sauce (pictured) that are filled with vegetables, whole grains, quality proteins, and healthy fats.

The service is known for its meal kits (with around 16 options each week), but you’ll also find microwaveable prepared meals and Ready-to-Cook dishes that just require assembling in the accompanying oven-safe pan.

The recipes are easy to cook – even for novice chefs. You’ll find helpful recipe cards both in your box and online, plus some how-to tips and follow-along videos via the app and website if you need extra guidance.

Many of Blue Apron’s recipes align with the WW Smartpoints system, too, with plenty of lower-carb and lower-calorie recipes that promise to be balanced and packed with flavor. So if you’re looking for a meal delivery service that supports particular health goals while feeding your family, Blue Apron could be an ideal option.

Blue Apron’s extras are where this service really shines. As well as offering a wine subscription service with pairing tips and bottles perfectly sized for two, you can also pick up breakfasts, desserts, healthy salads, seasonal holiday boxes, and even kitchen tools and utensils.

If you don’t just want Mediterranean-inspired recipes, there are other cuisines, too. In fact, Blue Apron has one of the largest selections out there, with Korean, Middle Eastern, Indian, Japanese, Chinese influences, and more. Plus, you have the option to customize some dishes by swapping the protein to make them vegetarian.

The minimum order is 2 meals for 2 people per week, with a maximum of 4 meals for 4. If you opt for the maximum order, you’ll be able to get Blue Apron’s cheapest price per serving of $5.74.

2. Factor – Best for High-End Prepared Meals

Factor's Tuscan Shrimp with Creamy Kale & Zucchini-Pepper-Onion Medley

Factor's Tuscan Shrimp with Creamy Kale & Zucchini-Pepper-Onion Medley

Key Features

  • High-quality, non-GMO ingredients

  • Track your meals on MyFitnessPal, Carb Manager, and others

  • Other dietary options include gluten-free, keto, and high-protein

  • Current deal: Up to $276 off!

Factor’s dietitian-designed prepared meals are made for busy, active lifestyles. All its meals are single-serving and ready-made, which means no prep, cooking, or cleanup. If you ask me, it doesn’t get much easier than that!

There’s usually a good range of plant-based, veggie, and non-veggie dishes, and athletes and gym junkies will love the high-protein options available. These include a varied mix of meat and fish to complement a Mediterranean lifestyle.

The menu changes each week (expect 30+ dishes), with filters for keto, spicy, low-carb, vegan, dairy-free, and other requirements. You can find out more about what to expect in my colleague’s Factor review.

Factor offers some great add-ons, too, including cold-pressed juices and smoothies, high-protein breakfasts, salads, and keto-friendly sweet treats. You can also pick up extra portions of Mediterranean-friendly proteins, including Parmesan Garlic Chicken Wings and Pan-Seared Salmon.

You’ll get a free 20-minute virtual consultation with an in-house nutrition coach when you sign up – and there are further nutrition coaching packages available if you feel like you need extra support with your diet. This is great if you’re new to the Mediterranean diet and need help starting or just want to find out which meals best fit this way of eating.

You can order between 6 and 18 meals per week, making Factor a great choice for anyone who wants to stock up the fridge or freezer with healthy, ready-to-heat dishes. The more you order, the lower the price per serving, too, with meals starting at $6.19.

Factor is one of the pricier meal delivery services out there, for sure. But the quality and sustainability of the produce and proteins take it to a different level compared to many of the salt- and sugar-laden prepared meals out there.

3. HelloFresh – Best Mediterranean Meal Kits for Families

Lemon-Rosemary Chicken Cutlets with Parmesan Couscous & Heirloom Grape Tomatoes from HelloFresh

Check out HelloFresh's Lemon-Rosemary Chicken Cutlets for a tasty, family-friendly dish

Key Features

One of the things that makes HelloFresh so appealing is its vast choice compared to many other meal delivery services. It offers one of the largest weekly menus out there compared to many of its competitors.

Its range of Mediterranean-inspired seafood and veggie options particularly stands out, with dedicated Pescatarian, Veggie, Meat & Veggie, and Fit & Wholesome plans to help personalize your options. That said, you’ll always have access to the full menu, whichever plan you choose when you sign up and you’ll find Mediterranean options across all plans.

There’s a Family Friendly plan, too, which features tons of crowd-pleasing dishes that kids are sure to love. You can also customize some recipes – adding Pecan- and Walnut-Crusted Chicken to your Chickpea Tinga Tacos, for example, so you can have a side of lean protein and healthy fats with your meal.

There’s a lot more to this company than I could possibly cover here, so find out how our reviewer got on when they put HelloFresh to the test at home.

HelloFresh is also a service that places a strong focus on sustainability and promises only high-quality produce and proteins – though it offers few organic options (for organic, you’ll be better off Green Chef).

Everything in your box will be perfectly portioned to help cut down on food waste, ingredients are seasonal and responsibly sourced, and there’s a wealth of information on the website about the company’s social initiatives and details on how to recycle your packaging.

The minimum order is 2 recipes for 2 people per week, but you can order as many as 6 recipes for 4 – another reason why HelloFresh is so great for families. Prices start from $3.32 per serving when you order the maximum number each week.

4. Green Chef – Best for Organic Mediterranean Ingredients

Green Chef's Mediterranean Shrimp & Sun-dried Tomatoes

Green Chef's Mediterranean Shrimp & Sun-dried Tomatoes

Key Features

  • A USDA-certified organic company

  • Prepped ingredients

  • Other dietary options include keto, plant-based, and gluten-free

Green Chef fairly recently introduced its dedicated Mediterranean plan. With recipes full of veggies and good-for-you fats, this plan sits alongside Green Chef’s other diet-friendly options, including the Keto, Protein Packed, Vegan, and Vegetarian plans.

You’ll find Mediterranean flavor in entrees such as Gyro-Spiced Pork Tenderloin Kale Salad with Garlicky Croutons, Tomato, and Feta, and Mediterranean Chicken with Artichokes, Roasted Peppers, and Pepita Pesto. These dishes sound decadent, but they still allow you to stick to healthy eating habits.

You’ll have access to the full menu of 30 recipes each week, regardless of which plan you choose – good news for anyone wanting to combine lean meat and fish dishes with vegan and veggie options. Find out how our reviewer got on when they gave Green Chef a go at home.

Most of the meal kits take around 30 minutes to cook. This is pretty standard – but other services offer speedier options. That’s not to say Green Chef isn’t suitable for beginners or those pressed for time, however. The sauces and marinades arrive ready to use, and some of the veggies are chopped to help make prep easier.

There are plenty of add-ons to choose from if you’re looking to add some grocery essentials to your order. Look out for breakfast options like the Red Pepper and Swiss Egg White Bites, Banana Nut Muffins, and a selection of flavored oatmeals, plus additional proteins like salmon, barramundi, and chicken.

What separates Green Chef from cheaper counterparts is certified organic produce and eggs. While it may not be the best service for those on a tight budget, if you prefer to prioritize organic ingredients and premium proteins, it could be worth the cost.

The minimum order is 3 meals for 2 people per week, but you can get as many as 4 meals for 6. Prices start at $5.99 per serving with a new customer discount when you order the maximum number of servings.

5. Home Chef – Best for Customization

Home Chef's Mediterranean Skillet with Turkey, Zucchini, and Feta

Home Chef's Mediterranean Skillet with Turkey, Zucchini, and Feta

Key Features

  • Wide range of low-prep meals

  • Swap, upgrade, or double-up on the protein

  • More than 30 dishes to choose from each week

Many of Home Chef’s recipes are well-suited to the Mediterranean diet. This is a service that regularly scores high in our rankings – and you’ll see why in my colleague’s detailed Home Chef review.

The Customize-It feature also lets you make many of the meals Mediterranean-friendly. If you want to cut back on your red meat intake, for example, swap the sirloin in your dish for salmon. Love risotto but don’t care for tuna? Order your Ahi Tuna Toscana and Creamy Parmesan Farro Risotto with antibiotic-free chicken instead.

You may periodically want to toss in some other cuisine types, too, and with Home Chef you can pick up recipes that fall under calorie- and carb-conscious eating styles. When you sign up, you can also select from a limited list the ingredients you want to avoid, including beef, pork, tree nuts, and more. One thing to note, however, is that Home Chef offers limited veggie options – with few or none for plant-based dieters.

You’ll find tons of quick meals, like Greek-Style Chicken Wraps with Tzatziki for busy weeknights, while the Culinary Collection recipes are perfect for when you want to spend more time getting creative in the kitchen. There are plenty of different types of meals for you to pick from, so there’s always something to suit your schedule.

Home Chef offers a great selection of add-ons, too. As well as being able to pick up extra protein (some of which is available in bulk – great for families and barbecues!), you can add ready-to-bake desserts, low-effort Mediterranean-style salads, bread, breakfasts, and more.

The minimum order is 2 recipes for 2 people per week with the option to order a maximum of 6 recipes for 6 people. Pricing starts at around $7.99 per serving, but note that this is just an estimate and customizations and add-ons will change the total of your final order.

6. BistroMD – Best Weight Loss Meals for Health Concerns

BistroMD's Tilapia with Orange Parsley Sauce

BistroMD's Tilapia with Orange Parsley Sauce

Key Features

  • Doctor-designed, chef-prepared meals

  • No MSG, aspartame, or trans fats

  • More than 150 dishes on a rotating 6-week menu

BistroMD’s prepared meals are great for weight loss or managing health issues. Every subscription includes support from the service’s in-house dietitians, with 5- or 7-day programs that offer up to 3 meals per day.

The programs are varied, with tailored options for women and men. The Heart Healthy plan is the closest you’ll get to the Mediterranean diet, with all the dishes on this menu promising to be within the recommended AHA guidelines for calories, sodium, and saturated fat.

Since all the meals are prepared, you don’t have to worry about weighing your food, counting calories, or tracking anything via food apps. Having your daily food intake delivered to your door, with zero prep or cleanup required, is what appeals to many about BistroMD’s service.

With dishes such as Italian-Style Omelet, Chicken-Spinach Meatloaf with Tomato Glaze, and Fisherman’s Seafood stew, you’re certainly spoiled for choice – though you can get a more in-depth look at the menu in my colleague’s review. The prepared meals are easily reheated, with the packaging detailing options to microwave or oven-cook.

For those looking to shed weight, you won’t find an easier-to-follow program. The flash-frozen, calorie-controlled dishes are a simple way to take control of your food intake. There’s even the option to add EATS (essential and tasty snacks) to your plan, so you can enjoy some indulgent nibbles without derailing your goals.

The minimum order here is lunch and dinner for 5 days, but you can order meals in a few other combinations. For instance, you can get lunch and dinner for 7 days, or commit to the Full Plan that includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner for 7 days. If you go for the maximum order, you’re looking at a price of $8.24 per serving.

7. EveryPlate – Most Affordable Meal Delivery Service

EveryPlate's Lemony Greek Pork Hash with Bell Pepper & a Fried Egg

EveryPlate's Lemony Greek Pork Hash with Bell Pepper & a Fried Egg

Key Features

  • Crowd-pleasing, kid-friendly meals

  • Some veggie options available

  • Easy-to-follow recipes

Lots of EveryPlate’s recipes are suitable for the Mediterranean diet, with a good mix of meat, fish, and veggie options. But what makes EveryPlate so appealing – particularly for families – is its ability to combine balanced, hearty dishes at budget-friendly prices.

On the menu, you can expect to find balanced dishes like the Lemony Greek Pork Hash (pictured), Greek-Style Beef Bowls, Chicken Sausage and Tomato Linguine, and more. Despite the low cost, there’s lots of variety – as our reviewer discovered when they tried EveryPlate at home.

If you’re looking specifically for veggie options, you’ll find around 7 meals each week. Other dedicated plans include Family Friendly, Nutrish & Delish (meals that are 650 calories or less per serving), and Quick & Easy. Note that you can always order from the full menu and these plans are used to personalize your options only.

I also like EveryPlate’s Mediterranean diet-friendly add-ons, including seasonal veggies, kale salad, sides such as roasted broccoli with parmesan, and chicken breasts. You could even add high-protein breakfast items to your order, such as turkey-sausage egg bites.

So, how does EveryPlate manage to keep its prices so competitive? Well, it’s not a service that caters well to those with special dietary needs – you won’t find gluten-free or vegan options on the menu, for example. The company’s no-frills packaging and more basic side dishes are also a factor.

The minimum order here is 3 meals for 2 people per week, up to a maximum of 6 meals for 4 people. For the maximum order per week, you’ll only pay $1.49 per serving.

8. Marley Spoon – Best for Variety

Marley Spoon's One-Pot Mediterranean Chicken with Toasted Feta Garlic Bread

Marley Spoon's One-Pot Mediterranean Chicken with Toasted Feta Garlic Bread

Key Features

  • Easy-to-cook meals curated by Martha Stewart

  • Family friendly and affordable

  • Other dietary options include vegetarian, vegan, no added gluten, and more

Marley Spoon is a solid option for Mediterranean dieters, particularly those with young families. The menu is packed with fresh, seasonal produce, top-quality meat and seafood, and offers up hearty portion sizes with tons of variety.

And despite our reviewer having some doubts about whether or not they could get to grips with Martha Stewart’s recipes, the dishes proved easy to put together

There’s no dedicated Mediterranean menu, but just about everything that falls under the Health & Diet and Vegetarian & Vegan categories will suit this kind of lifestyle. Look out for tasty-sounding meals like the One-Pot Mediterranean Chicken (pictured) and Pan-Roasted Tilapia with Potatoes and Herb Butter.

Marley Spoon is also a service that caters particularly well to other dietary accommodations, offering many meals that have no added gluten, are dairy-free, and plant-based.

Most of the meal kits will take anywhere from 30 to 50 minutes to make. If you want to find some ultra-fast dishes for busy weeknights, keep an eye out for the Under 30 Minutes tag while browsing the menu. It does offer a couple of prepared meals each week, too, but these are limited. Look out for the label that shouts “Ready-Made!”

There’s a good number of extras to add to your box. From indulgent desserts like classic chocolate brownies and tiramisu cupcakes to high-protein breakfasts and smoothie bowls, you’re sure to find one or two things that you can’t resist.

Marley Spoon is not only sustainable in terms of its environmental ethos (it was the first meal delivery service to go carbon neutral) – but its pricing makes sticking with this service sustainable, too.

The minimum order is 2 meals for 2 people per week, up to a maximum of 6 meals for 4. You can expect prices starting at $2.99 per serving for the maximum weekly order.

9. Purple Carrot – Best Vegan Meal Delivery for Mediterranean Diets

Mediterranean Stuffed Sweet Potatoes with Crispy Chickpeas & Cashew Cheese from Purple Carrot

Purple Carrot's Mediterranean Stuffed Sweet Potatoes are gluten-free, soy-free, and high in protein

Key Features

  • Prepared meals and meal kits

  • Add breakfast, lunch, snacks, and more

  • Other dietary options include soy-free, gluten-free, and high-protein

Many of Purple Carrot’s entrées are suitable for a Mediterranean lifestyle, despite not having a dedicated Mediterranean plan. Each dish is full of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and healthy fats, with exciting recipes that’ll entice even the fussiest of meat-eaters.

Purple Carrot aims to make following a vegan diet easier with its mix of simple meal kits, prepared meals, and low-prep options. And, according to our reviewer, you’ll be hard-pressed to find convenient plant-based meals that taste quite as good!

In fact, this service makes wanting to eat more vegetables easy, with dishes like Mediterranean Stuffed Sweet Potatoes with Crispy Chickpeas and Cashew Cheese (pictured), and the Summer Vegetable Ciabatta with Roasted Tomato Vinaigrette.

The menu also lets you filter gluten-free meals, recipes under 600 calories, and high-protein options, so you can find Mediterranean-inspired meals that fit your requirements.

You also won’t find any faux meat substitutes on the menu, which sets Purple Carrot apart from some other vegan services. The vegetables really are the stars of the show here – you’re sure to find a ton of new recipe inspiration plus some ingredients you may not have tried before.

You can also pick up extras, including breakfasts and super-speedy lunches like sandwiches and salad bowls. In the Plantry, you’ll find store-cupboard items like pasta and vegan cookies, and chilled essentials such as plant-based cheeses and black bean burgers.

You can order either prepared meals or choose from the selection of meal kits available and the minimum order is different for each. Choose from either 6 single-serving prepared dishes (up to a maximum of 10) or 3 meal kits to serve two people. When you choose the maximum number of servings, you’ll pay $8.50 per portion.

10. Diet-to-Go – Best Mediterranean Weight Loss Meals

Diet-To-Go's Italian Chicken with Cous Cous Pilaf & Roasted Green Beans

Diet-To-Go's Italian Chicken with Cous Cous Pilaf & Roasted Green Beans

Key Features

  • Calorie-controlled prepared meals

  • Diet support with every subscription

  • Some customization options available

Diet-to-Go has a dedicated Mediterranean plan that’s ideal for weight-loss dieters trying to stick to a menu that’s rich in veggies, fruits, nuts, grains, fish, and lean meats. Each meal is ready to heat and eat, which means no prep, cooking, or cleanup.

The service has been certified by both the American Heart Association and the American Diabetes Association, and offers calorie- and portion-controlled meals that are proven to help you lose weight. There are options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner to suit a wide range of preferences.

You can make meal swaps and customize some of the dishesas my colleague discovered – but the Mediterranean plan promises to be varied, with dishes such as Greek Chicken with Quinoa, Herb-Baked Salmon, and Cran-Apple Muffins.

The chef-prepared dishes arrive fresh – so you can heat and eat in minutes. The service is known for its professional health support, too, including that of a registered dietitian, nutritionist, and certified health coach to help you meet your goals.

Other dedicated programs include the Balance, Balance-Diabetes, Keto-Carb30, and Veggie plans. Some of the meals will cross over, but it’s nice to see that you’re not necessarily locked into one specific diet forever if you decide you want to try others, too.

The minimum order is lunch and dinner for 5 days per week, but you can get a couple of other combinations. For instance, you could opt for 3 meals per day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) for 5 days per week, or 2 or 3 meals per day for 7 days per week. If you go with the largest order, you’ll pay just $4.60 per serving.

Tips for Choosing the Best Mediterranean Meal Delivery Services

Here are some things to look out for when you’re shopping around for a Mediterranean diet-friendly meal delivery service:

  • Check the ingredients: Contrary to popular belief, the Mediterranean diet isn’t very restrictive. However, if you want to reap the benefits of this style of eating, there are a few ingredients to look for, such as fruits, colorful veggies, fish, lean meats such as chicken, whole grains, beans, nuts, and other healthy fats like avocados.

  • Check it’s within your budget: It goes without saying that your meal delivery service needs to be affordable for you, however, note that the Mediterranean diet does focus hugely on quality ingredients – such as extra virgin olive oil – that may cost a little more. Services such as Green Chef are pricier because it focuses on organic ingredients, too.

  • Consider your schedule and skill level: If you enjoy cooking recipes (or wish to learn), you might favor a service that provides meal kits instead of prepared meals. If you're often strapped for time and need a quick meal, ready-to-eat meals that you can simply heat in the microwave may suit you better.

  • Don’t be afraid to switch: You may go through a few meal delivery services before finding one that fits. All the services on this list offer easy cancellation policies.

FAQ

Does Blue Apron have a Mediterranean diet plan?

Blue Apron’s Wellness meals are strongly inspired by the Mediterranean diet with lean proteins and an emphasis on fresh fruits and vegetables. You’ll also find lower-calorie and low-carbohydrate meals that do an excellent job of supporting good health, weight loss, or weight maintenance.

Do experts recommend the Mediterranean diet?

The Mediterranean diet is the #1 expert-recommended diet for those interested in optimizing their health. It supports weight loss and weight maintenance through the intake of lean meats, fresh fruits, and colorful veggies, healthy fats like extra virgin olive oil, and nutrient-dense superfoods like okra and spinach.

One of my favorite meal delivery services for the Mediterranean diet is Green Chef. With a dedicated Mediterranean plan that focuses on veggies and good-for-you fats, the recipes are balanced and exciting, while the ingredients are organic and high quality.

Does HelloFresh have Mediterranean meals?

HelloFresh doesn’t have a specific Mediterranean plan, however, lots of its meals could fit the bill – particularly those in the Fit & Wholesome plan.

The Mediterranean diet isn’t necessarily a set-in-stone regimen, rather, it focuses on certain key ingredients like lean white meats and fish, with a heavy emphasis on fruits, veggies, and healthy fats from quality oils and nuts. With that in mind, lots of HelloFresh’s meals can easily be considered “Mediterranean-influenced”.

Is the Mediterranean diet good for vegetarians and vegans?

Vegetarians can easily follow the Mediterranean diet as it features large quantities of fruits, vegetables, beans, nuts, and healthy grains. Vegans will want to skip (or swap) the cheese, yogurt, and other dairy products and might find it easier with a dedicated plant-based service like Purple Carrot.
