There seem to be many options with various types of meals, cuisines, cooking skill level requirements, and more. But it doesn’t have to feel like that. I’ll show you how to quickly find the exact one that best suits your needs.
I’ve checked out and researched dozens of options to find the best services that deliver to Dallas. You can also choose between prepared meals or meal kits (depending on what you like), along with various price points to suit your personal budget.
Overall, Factor is my top choice for this year. It’s the best overall meal delivery service in Dallas thanks to its healthy prepared meals. You can choose from a range of diets with plans that suit a range of needs.

Factor’s prepared meals are great for those looking to lead a healthier lifestyle. If your primary goal is to lose weight or simply support your fitness lifestyle, Factor’s meals make this pretty much as straightforward as it gets. Each item on the menu has been carefully crafted and fits one or more fitness-related categories like Keto, Protein Plus, Calorie Smart, and more.
Though not the largest menu around, Factor still offers around 35 prepared meals for you to choose from every single week. You'll get a good selection of international cuisines like Latin American, Cajun, Italian, and more, though I have found that most of them are quite Americanized.
The meals are all free of antibiotics and hormones. I can't really say the same thing about many, if not most other competitors on this list. And, considering the meals are all prepared, this is especially surprising.
As well as dinners, you can expect a good selection of extras and add-ons like breakfast items, smoothies, desserts, meat and protein add-ons, mac and cheese, dips, and even extra veggies.
In terms of heating your meals, you can either do so in your microwave or oven. The heating instructions for each meal are printed on each individual meal package. All you have to do is follow the instructions and eat. Our review has some recommendations on which type of meals heat best in the oven versus the microwave.
All meals are GMO-free and made with mostly organic produce. All poultry and eggs are also antibiotic-free, all meats are pasture-raised or grass-fed, and the salmon is sustainably sourced.
Though not specifically targeted toward kids, most of the meals are kid-friendly in terms of taste and spice-levels. But since Factor only offers single-serving prepared meals, you'd do better with HelloFresh if you’re feeding a family.
The minimum order here is 6 meals per week, but you can get up to 18 per week. Pricing varies by order size, with larger orders providing the best savings. For example, you can get 18 meals for $103.41 on your first order with our link.
The first USDA-certified organic meal delivery service
45+ recipes available each week
Dietary options include keto, gluten-free, and plant-based
Green Chef offers high-quality, certified organic produce and eggs, though not all ingredients are organic. You’ll also get proteins that have been raised with high animal welfare standards, according to Green Chef. It couples these high-quality ingredients with specialized meal plans that make its meals suitable for most preferences.
Green Chef offers the following plans:
Keto
Gluten Free
Calorie Smart
Fast & Fit
Quick & Easy
Plant-Based
Brain & Gut Health
Protein Packed
If you check out our main review, you’ll find that you’re able to mix and match across plans as you see fit, which was not always possible with Green Chef previously. I like seeing this option as it gives you lots more flexibility in terms of what you are able to eat every week.
You can get tons of extras including breakfasts, keto-bundles, and bulk proteins. You’ll find things like Roasted Almond and Coconut Oatmeal, Thai-Spiced Chicken Salad, Smoky Bacon and Cheddar Egg Bites, The Keto-Curious Dinner Bundle, Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, and an assortment of muffins.
You can also get extra seafood and meats like shrimp and salmon, ground beef, turkey, or pork, and even steak and chicken cutlets (just to name a few). That’s definitely not an exhaustive list, so I recommend checking out the menu for yourself.
Something I like about Green Chef is that all of its sauces and marinades come premade. This is nice to see as these types of foods can sometimes add a lot of extra cooking time to your meals.
Not only is Green Chef USDA-certified organic, its gluten-free menu is GAG-certified to contain under 20 ppm of gluten. That means it is suitable for people with celiac disease or serious gluten sensitivity.
Green Chef is among the most expensive meal delivery services on our list. But if eating organic is important to you, or if you need gluten-free meals and not just “no added gluten” or “low gluten” meals, Green Chef is a great investment in your health.
The minimum order with Green Chef is 3 meals for 2 people per week – but you’re able to order up to a maximum of 4 meals for 6 people every week. Keep in mind that, the more you order at once, the lower your per-serving cost will be. Prices for the maximum order start at around $9.99 per serving.
80+ dishes to choose from each week
Dietary options include vegetarian, wellness, and low-calorie
Add tons of other Market add-ons to your order

Blue Apron is a good choice in Dallas for its easy-to-cook gourmet meals. It offers a huge menu of international cuisines, and it offers these in the form of either meal kits or prepared meals.
You'll also find various types of plans on the menu here. There really does appear to be something for everyone. For example, our tested Blue Apron review mentions that there are 5 main categories – Chef Favorites, Wellness, Family Friendly, Fast & Easy, and Veggies. But you don’t have to choose 1 or the other as these simply serve as an easy way to sort the menu.
The prepared meals just have to be heated up in the microwave or the oven, depending on what you have ordered. These can take anywhere from about 2 to 45 minutes to be ready to eat. If you’re on a high protein, keto, or weight-loss diet, you’ll find high-protein, low-carb, and low-calorie Prepared and Ready options.
You could also try the Fast & Easy meals if you’re in a bit of a rush. These will help you strike a balance between cooking, yet not spending too much time doing so. Each Fast & Easy meal can be cooked more quickly than the standard meal kits, but of course, they're not as fast or convenient as the prepared meals. I appreciate this level of flexibility.
I like how it also offers meals for pretty much any skill level. For instance, you can try the Premium recipes, which can help you push your culinary skills to the limit and create striking meals for your family.
But there are also a bunch of recipes you can try that don't require very much cooking skill at all. All of the steps are outlined on cards that you'll get with each delivery so you never have to worry about being left in the dark.
Blue Apron's live chat support agents are super professional and quick to respond. They’ll help you get your presales questions answered – and I found them to be very friendly and knowledgeable overall.
Blue Apron’s minimum order is 2 meals equaling 2 servings each per week, but you’re free to order as many as 5 meals of 4 servings each per week. Pricing starts at around $4.00 per serving for the maximum order.
Choose from 100+ recipes and market items per week
Dietary options include carb-smart, calorie-smart, vegetarian, and pescatarian
Get family-friendly meals even kids will love
HelloFresh is still quite convenient even though it doesn’t offer prepared meals. Its kits don’t take long, and the menu is quite varied. For instance, it offers a very large menu of around 100+ options per week, along with several diet options for you to choose from.
The menu is split up into 6 main categories – Meat & Veggies, Family Friendly, Veggie, Fit & Wholesome, Under 20 Minutes, and Pescatarian (which is somewhat of a rarity). You’re free to mix and match across categories to your heart’s content, which is something not all competitors offer.
You’ll find that most of the recipes are also family-friendly and kid-friendly. This is because most of the meals aren’t all that “fancy” so to speak, or over-the-top with lots of exotic ingredients and spices. HelloFresh, in my opinion, does a good job of catering to most people’s taste preferences.
When it comes to cooking the meal kits, most can be ready to eat in around 20-30 minutes with some taking slightly less or more time. To me, any meals that take less than an hour is something I can get on board with.
Something really unique about HelloFresh is that it lists the difficulty level for each meal. Like our review mentions, if you’re nervous or hesitant to try a certain recipe, you can check out how difficult it is right on the site’s main menu before ordering.
But even if you see a recipe you don’t feel confident about, I wouldn’t worry about it. Every meal comes with detailed instructions that will guide you by the hand no matter your experience level.
HelloFresh is the world’s largest meal delivery service for a reason. Your minimum order is 2 recipes for 2 people per week, and you can get up to 6 recipes for up to 6 people per week. It’s nice to see that the more you order, the more you’ll save on each serving. For example, new users can get 6 meals for 4 people for just $107.75 when using our link.
35+ recipes available per week
Dietary options include carb- and calorie-conscious
Get access to tons of sides, snacks, add-ons, and extra protein
With Home Chef, you get lots of choices in terms of how you want to cook and eat. You can get regular or Easy Prep meal kits, oven- and grill-ready meals, and the ability to customize each meal’s protein. Our tested review goes into greater detail.
Home Chef has among the largest, most diverse menus out there. In addition to a variety of cooking styles, there are also many cuisines on offer. You’ll find Home Chef’s takes on tacos, teriyaki, tikka masala, and more. Many protein options are customizable, offering even more variety.
I also found an almost overwhelming number of extras and add-ons. Our full review goes into more details about the different desserts, lunches, and snacks on offer. You can also grab a number of extra proteins like Italian sausage, chicken, shrimp, salmon, and Protein Packs which offer a combination.
In terms of the meals, I think that one of the best features is the protein customization option. For example, the Texas-Style Steak Flautas could be ordered with diced chicken or even shrimp instead. This option really helps you get the exact meal you’ll be most happy with without being forced to order the default option.
If there’s anything you want to avoid, you can choose these items at signup. For example, you can choose to avoid things like pork, beef, mushrooms, shellfish, and tree nuts. At signup, you can also select whether you prefer carb- or calorie-conscious meals.
Home Chef is a great choice for families. Its Customize It feature gives you the flexibility to choose exactly the meals you want, and its filling comfort food is great for kids but interesting enough to keep adults from getting bored.
The minimum order per week is 2 recipes for 2 people per week, and the maximum is 6 recipes for 6 people. Prices for the maximum order start at $9.99 per serving.
Get diet plans that have been created by doctors
Choose from 150+ breakfast, lunch, and dinner items plus snacks
Diets include gluten-free, diabetic, heart-healthy, vegan, and more
BistroMD is the only service on this list that caters specifically to those looking to lose weight. If you’ve been wanting to lose some extra pounds but don’t want to spend time weighing your food, counting calories, and tracking calories, BistroMD could be your answer.
We cooked and tasted a range of BistroMD meals and felt that a lot of thought had been put into creating interesting recipes and flavors despite the fact that it’s a weight loss-specific meal delivery service.
When you think of losing weight, thoughts of dry chicken breast and rice with tasteless broccoli spring to mind – at least to me! But that’s certainly not the case with BistroMD.
But weight loss isn’t the only thing that BistroMD supports. It offers an abundance of other plans as well such as Heart Healthy, Gluten Free, Menopause, Vegan, Keto Flex, and even a Diabetic-Friendly one.
Its diet plans have been created by doctors, and all meals are preportioned with the correct number of calories to help you lose weight effortlessly. As someone who has lost 35 pounds in the past, I can certainly appreciate that.
I’m happy to see that most of its meals are whole foods-based. This means lots of grains like rice, fresh veggies like carrots, beans, and broccoli, fresh salmon, chicken, beef, and turkey.
One thing worth noting is that BistroMD flash-freezes its meals. While flash-freezing locks in nutrients, it also makes shipping a bit more expensive. But if you’re looking for a diet plan that doesn’t revolve around tasteless processed food, BistroMD is a great choice.
The minimum BistroMD order is enough lunches and dinners for 5 days which comes out to around $6.59 per serving.12 meal kits and 16 prepared meals on the menu each week
Dietary options include gluten-free, nut-free, and high protein
Also offers breakfast and lunch entrees
Purple Carrot is a 100% plant-based service that offers both meal kits and prepared meals. What separates it from other services that offer “plant-based meals”, however, is that it truly makes the veggies the star of the show.
While Purple Carrot definitely doesn’t offer the largest menu selection out there, everything it offers is top-notch. I can definitely understand that since it hyper-focuses on being plant-based. Naturally, there aren’t as many options when you’re not getting anything animal-based.
One of my personal favorite items on the menu is the Maple-Chipotle Carrot Tacos with Mojo Verde Black Beans & Spicy Pepitas. It’s nice to see that Purple Carrot doesn’t rely on imitation meats such as “Beyond” products like some other services.
Purple Carrot offers meals in 3 main ways – prepared meals, meal kits, and Less Prep meal kits. The prepared meals can be heated up in the microwave within about 2 to 3 minutes.
We were impressed with the range of diets Purple Carrot caters to when testing the service. The whole menu is obviously dairy-free, but you can also get meals that are gluten-, soy-, or nut-free, which are all clearly labeled. Not every meal falls into every category, but most fall into at least 1 of those.
You can make most of the meal kits in around 25-30 minutes (with some taking slightly longer), and the Less Prep meal kits are even faster. With those, you’ll get premade sauces, and pre-chopped veggies, they require fewer pots and pans, and will overall significantly reduce prep times.
The minimum order with Purple Carrot is 3 meals per week of 2 servings each, and the maximum is 4 meals of 4 servings each. For the prepared meals, 6 single-serving meals per week up to a maximum of 10 single-serving meals.
If you opt for the meal kits, you’ll save more money per serving the more you order, but the prepared meals always cost the same per serving. Pricing for the maximum order starts at $11.00 per serving.
Martha Stewart-curated meals you can cook at home
100+ meal kits to choose from per week
Dietary options include vegan, vegetarian, and no added gluten
Marley Spoon has partnered with Martha Stewart to deliver some of the highest-quality meal kits around. Not only that, but it offers one of the largest menus around. While checking it out, I noticed that you’d be pretty unlikely to become bored over time here.
Dietary options include Vegan, Vegetarian, No Gluten Added, and Low-Carb. Many meals are also labeled as Under 30 Minutes, Kid Friendly, Optional Spice, Dairy-Free, One Pot Meal, Healthy, and Nutritious.
Marley Spoon does offer some sides and extras too, just not as many as Home Chef or Green Chef. You can expect items like Loaded Cheesy Mashed Potatoes, Baked Popcorn Chicken, brownies, roasted fingerling potatoes, and some breakfast items like muffins and oats.
It’s interesting that you also get meals with Martha Stewart’s signature sauces and seasonings. This makes Marley Spoon unique when compared to other meal delivery services.
Marley Spoon is also among the first carbon-neutral meal delivery services. Almost all its packaging material is recyclable and it relies on sustainable farmers and fishermen to provide ingredients.
Some of the recipes may first appear more complex than other competitors. However, our tested Marley Spoon review found that the meals are still easy enough for an amateur cook.
The minimum order here is 2 meals for 2 people per week, and the maximum is 6 meals for 4 people. Pricing for the maximum number of weekly meals starts at $4.99 per serving.
Cook most meals in fewer than 30-40 minutes
Choose from over 100 unique recipes per week
Dietary options include vegetarian, low-calorie, and dairy-free, veggie, and more
If you’re just looking for the straight-up most affordable meals in Dallas, Dinnerly fits the bill. It’s one of the cheapest meal delivery services out there. Best of all, “cheap” doesn’t really mean low quality, either. It offers an impressive number of weekly choices, and decent dietary options as well – despite its lower-than-average cost.
Most Dinnerly recipes contain meat, though there are some veggie options, too. If you’re into fish and seafood, you’ll also get a handful of weekly recipes that feature those items.
All of the meals you’ll get from Dinnerly are meal kits. Sadly, at this time, it doesn’t offer prepared meals – but, again, that’s to be expected at this price point.
In terms of the meal kits, they seem to be quite varied featuring lots of international recipes like Indian, Italian, Latin American, Asian-influenced, and Greek. You also seem to get lots of classic American ones, too that are quite kid-friendly.
I was surprised to find out that Dinnerly uses pretty high-quality items in its meals, despite the low price tag. When reviewing it, we learned that Dinnerly only sources sustainably-raised proteins and sometimes provides organic fruits and veggies.
I found that to be very surprising and a welcome bonus. Some of the highest-priced competitors don’t even offer these types of ingredients.
While Dinnerly used to rely on digital recipe cards that you had to download on your phone while cooking, it now offers physical recipes that make cooking much less awkward.
Lastly, the minimum order for Dinnerly is 3 meals for 2 people per week up to a maximum of 6 meals for 4 people. Pricing starts at $2.12 per serving for the maximum order.
Trifecta's main focus is delivering prepared meals to help people achieve their health and fitness goals. These single-serving dishes are gluten-free, macro-balanced, and approved by dietitians, making them popular among those who regularly hit the gym, as our review points out.
The service offers a keto program featuring high-protein, healthy-fat meals with only 10g of net carbs per serving. Other options are available, such as paleo, vegan, vegetarian, Whole30, and Clean plans, catering to different dietary preferences.
You can also put your meals on autopilot with a chef-chosen menu each week. That means you could order up to 3 meals per day and exclude up to 2 ingredients from a limited list. You can choose your own meals instead, however, if you wish.
Alternatively, you can order individual ingredients to create your own meals. A variety of high-quality proteins, carbs like sweet potatoes, brown rice, quinoa, and vegetable side dishes are available. Simply combine these mains and sides to your heart’s content in any order.
Subscribers also gain access to the Trifecta community via the app. It basically offers resources like articles, mini-challenges, tools for macro and weight tracking, and peer support. This can better help you achieve your fitness and health goals with the help of others rather than doing it on your own.
While many fitness-conscious services lock you into your menu plan or only offer curated meals, Trifecta lets you choose from the entire menu. You have the option to order a curated plan, but it’s not a requirement.
Trifecta has a good variety of meal plans, as well as a bulk program that lets you create your own meals. If you’re serious about getting fit, Trifecta can make tracking your macros a lot more convenient.
Pricing starts at $13.79 per serving. Choose from 5, 7, 10, or 14 entrees per week for lunch and/or dinner. You can also add 7 breakfasts if desired.

When I was looking at the best meal delivery services in Dallas, here are some things I took into consideration. I highly recommend you keep the following points in mind when making your decision:
Recipes: Opt for a service that provides the types of dishes and cuisine you prefer. Most services will cater to dinner, but others cover every meal of the day, including breakfast, lunch, accompaniments, snacks, or drinks. No matter if you're a fan of traditional American, Italian, Indian, or Asian food, there's a choice for everyone on my list.
Convenience is key: Based on your cooking skills, time, and kitchen space, you can go for microwave-, grill-, or oven-ready meals, standard meal kits, salads, or even meal kits with pre-washed, peeled, chopped, or diced ingredients. For meal kits, most services will outline the expected prep time and skill level upfront on the menu.
Dietary choices: Select meals that cater to your unique dietary needs. You have a wide array of options, ranging from keto and paleo to Mediterranean and vegan. If you eat a balanced diet, look for a service that allows you to mix and match between all its plans.
Affordability: Go for a service that fits your budget, whatever that is. Make sure you factor in any weekly shipping costs. You’ll find meal delivery services on my list that work fora range of budgets and needs. For the best value, use one of my new customer coupons and consider making a larger first order to maximize the savings.
Blue Apron offers both prepared meals and meal kits so some meals come pre-cooked. Around half of its meals are prepared, and the other half are meal kits. You’ll find a large selection of international meals that will please all sorts of different tastes and preferences.
My top recommendation for prepared meals in Dallas is Factor. I chose Factor because of its weekly changing menu of meals that fit a range of diets. I also love how many add-ons there are to choose from.
The most affordable meal kit delivery service in Dallas currently is Dinnerly. Its prices start at around $2.12 per serving. You’ll not only get some of the most affordable meals here, you’ll also get a decently large selection of international cuisines, no-chop (low prep), kid-friendly, vegetarian, and one-pot meal options (plus tons more).
