Overview

Dry Farm Wines offers curated or customizable sets of 6 to 12 bottles. Learn everything you need to know in this review and find out if this is the right service for you.

I've looked at and extensively researched Dry Farm Wines. I've considered aspects like menu variety, ease of use, pricing, and even how easy it is to cancel your subscription. I also wanted to find out how responsive customer service is.

Overall, Dry Farm Wines could be a good choice for some, but it’s not for everyone. Those looking for sets of top-notch, artisan wine will be satisfied – however, those looking for individual bottles might prefer Firstleaf which lets you choose your own bottles.

What’s on the Dry Farm Wines Wine List

Dry Farm Wines curates a diverse wine list from Europe. It’s tailored to those who savor natural and authentic wines.

Your selection features natural wines including red wine, white wines, sparkling wines, and rosé, each crafted with care from organic and biodynamic vineyards. Expect low-sugar and low-alcohol wines that align with low-carb, keto, and paleo diets.

The wines selected are known for their clean taste and the absence of additives. They often feature a variety of flavors that can range from bold to subtle, crafted to appeal to different palates.

Your options include curated cases or the flexibility to build your own bundle. Choose from a selection that includes Classic Reds, Classic Whites, Low Alcohol Wine, Pinot Only, Bold Reds, Rosé and Bubbles, and Design Your Own. As well as wines, you can also purchase gift boxes, gift cards, and olive oils.

Unfortunately, you can’t see what the wines are before buying. Even Design Your Own just gives you the flexibility to get a mixture of Reds and Whites but the wines are still chosen for you and you can’t make swaps. But I believe that’s sort of the whole point of the company. It aims to ship you new wines that you probably haven’t heard of or tried before.

That said, there are 2 box sizes to choose from:

  • 6-Bottle Custom Bundle

  • 12-Bottle Curated Set

Individual bottles are not available for purchase – bundles only. If you prefer individual bottles give Naked Wines a try. Also, gifting options are present, perfect for sharing this unique experience with friends or loved ones. Subscriptions are flexible, with shipments tailored to your schedule, every 1 or 2 months.

Unboxing

a screenshot of the dry farm wines delivery box

Each bottle is securely encased to prevent breakage. As you unbox, you'll find an array of wine bottles typically wrapped or nested within sustainable materials.

You'll likely come across detailed tasting notes accompanying each bottle. These provide insights into the flavor profile and recommended pairings, enhancing your tasting experience. Dry Farm Wines emphasizes its commitment to natural, organic, and additive-free wines.

Package Contents:

  • A selection of wines.

  • Tasting notes for each wine.

  • Information on the origin and making of the wines.

Remember to handle each bottle with care as you unpack. It should be stored in a cool, dry place until you're ready to enjoy it.

The pricing at Dry Farm Wines is very straightforward, which I like to see. Bundles are available at 2 price points. For non-members, prices are $233 for 6 bottles and $441 for 12. That’s about $38.83 and $34.25 respectively. However, members save in various ways.

Becoming a member offers you good value for money. There is no fee to join and as a member, and you get 25% off every purchase. This means you can secure your 6-bottle selection for $186, or upgrade to the 12-bottle assortment for $352.

Membership Perks:

  • Exclusive Pricing: Save 25% on every order as a member.

  • Complimentary Shipping: Enjoy free shipping on every order, only for members.

  • Access to Allocated Wines: You get the first pick of rare wines that aren't available to non-members.

  • Priority Service: Benefit from the dedicated attention of the hospitality concierge team.

You also receive personal invites to the National Curated Dinner Series. This is kind of neat and provides you with an opportunity to mingle with fellow wine enthusiasts.

You’re also welcome to cancel your membership at any time, no questions asked. This arrangement offers flexibility and ensures that you're investing in an experience tailored to your taste, with no hidden commitments.

Shipping & Delivery

When you place an order with Dry Farm Wines, expect a delivery time of 5-7 business days for most U.S. states. However, due to state laws, shipping is not an option for Michigan, Utah, Mississippi, and Arkansas.

For residents of Hawaii and Alaska, a shipping fee of $49 applies, ensuring your selection arrives properly even over great distances. Rest assured, for all other states, shipping is complimentary, imposing no additional costs on your wine journey.

UPS will be responsible for the delivery of your package. However, if you're in Iowa, FedEx will handle your shipment. I really wish companies would use FedEx for all shipments quite honestly!

Should your plans change, the flexibility to reroute or reschedule your delivery is available through UPS My Choice. Alternatively, for personalized assistance, feel free to contact support, demonstrating the company's commitment to accommodating your needs.

Remember, detailed tracking and support are just a message away. Reach out for swift assistance to ensure your wine experience is seamless from vineyard to glass.

How Dry Farm Wines Works

It’s really easy to sign up for Dry Farm Wines. It’s one of the simplest procedures I’ve pretty much ever seen. Here’s how to do that:

How to Sign Up

1. Click on the 3-lines icon at the top left to bring up the menu.

2. Choose the option that best suits what you want. In this example, I went ahead and selected Wine Collections for a curated experience – but you’re free to create your own custom box. (Note: customizing your box doesn’t mean you get to pick individual bottles. Rather, you can choose your wine color, body profile, and flavor profile instead.)

3. Add a case of your choice to your cart. Options include 6 or 12 bottles for a one-off purchase or auto-shipments every 1 or 2 months. (Note: members save 25% on each order.)

4. Click on your shopping bag. Once you have everything you want in your cart, it’s time to check out!

Managing Your Subscription

If you need to manage your subscription, log in to your online account dashboard. From there, you can pause or cancel your subscription, change your delivery days, and several other tasks. You can also contact customer service if you need any help.

Customer Support

There are several ways in which you can reach out for support:

Something that disappointed me is that, while you can always reach out for help, operational hours for customer service are not explicitly listed. It’s sort of up in the air as to when someone might be available, so I always recommend reaching out during regular business hours if you’re able to.

You can also check out the FAQ section on the website. You might be able to find your question answered there.

Dry Farm Wines also stands confidently behind its products with what it dubbs the Happiness Promise. If a bottle doesn't meet your standards or preferences, the company offers a straightforward no-questions-asked refund or replacement policy.

How Dry Farm Wines Compares to Other Wine Delivery Services

    • Dry Farm Wines vs. Firstleaf: You'll appreciate Dry Farm Wines for its selection of organic, low-sugar wines from Europe, appealing if health is a priority for you. Firstleaf, however, personalizes its wine selection from around the world to match your tastes through a taste quiz and feedback system. This makes it better if you value customization. Learn more now in my colleague’s Firstleaf review.
    • Dry Farm Wines vs. Naked Wines: Dry Farm Wines specializes in small-batch, sustainable wines, which is perfect if you're environmentally conscious and prefer wines with minimal intervention. Naked Wines, on the other hand, focuses on supporting independent winemakers, offering you the chance to buy unique wines at a discount as a member. If your focus is on sustainability and natural winemaking processes, Dry Farm Wines is the better choice. Naked Wines is ideal for exploring and supporting new winemakers at discounted prices. Learn more now in our Naked Wines review.
    • Dry Farm Wines vs. Vinesse: Dry Farm Wines emphasizes natural wine processes and strict sugar content limits, catering to those who are health-conscious and prefer wines with minimal additives. Vinesse offers a broad selection of wines, targeting specific tastes or regions through various clubs. Dry Farm Wines suits those looking for wines that align with a healthy lifestyle and environmental values. Vinesse is better for wine enthusiasts wanting to explore a wide array of wines tailored to their taste preferences and interests. Find out more now in my Vinesse review.

The Bottom Line: Is Dry Farm Wines Worth It?

Dry Farm Wines stands out for its curated selection of organic, low-sugar wines from Europe, catering to health-conscious consumers and those on low-carb, keto, or paleo diets. The service offers both curated and customizable sets, but lacks the option for single-bottle purchases, potentially limiting its appeal to some.

Despite the higher price point, the value is evident in the quality, with wines free from additives and crafted from organic and biodynamic vineyards. Membership perks include exclusive pricing, complimentary shipping, and access to rare wines, enhancing the overall experience.

However, the cost may be a consideration for those comparing it to other wine delivery services. For enthusiasts willing to invest in a premium, health-conscious wine experience, Dry Farm Wines is worth considering, especially for those interested in exploring new, artisanal selections through a flexible subscription model. FAQ

How is Dry Farm Wines different?

Dry Farm Wines is unique in its commitment to health and sustainability. It partners with vintners who prioritize organic, biodynamic farming without added chemicals or sugars. This ensures you enjoy wines that are not only delicious but also align with a health-conscious lifestyle.

Its selection process includes rigorous lab testing, guaranteeing wines under 12.5% alcohol by volume. All of its wine comes from Europe.

What brands are dry farm wines?

Dry Farm Wines features a collection of wines from various small-scale, artisanal producers rather than specific brands. It focuses on quality and sustainability, sourcing from family-owned vineyards around the globe. This means you have access to a curated selection of wines that meet strict criteria for organic farming, low sulfites, and no added sugars.

    Are Dry Farm Wines sugar-free?

Yes, Dry Farm Wines is sugar-free. It ensures that every bottle contains less than 1 gram of sugar per liter. However, you can’t buy individual bottles from specific brands like you can with Firstleaf, for instance. There’s a bit of a trade-off here, so I think Firstleaf is worth considering if you want to choose your own bottles, despite the offerings not being strictly health-focused.
