Bright Cellars is a great wine delivery service, but it might not be the best fit for you. So I understand why you may be thinking about quitting. The good news is that the cancelation process is a breeze – Bright Cellars is a dependable service until the end.
Just because this journey is done doesn’t mean you don’t want wine delivered anymore. Luckily, I have 3 amazing alternatives that show a lot of promise when it comes to wine list diversity. These services have excelled in our reviews, and I’m excited to share them with you.
If you want more adventurous wines, I recommend Firstleaf’s diverse selection. The company’s wine list features over 1,000 award-winning labels from various regions of the world.

Bright Cellars offers 3 cancelation methods – via phone, contact form, or online account. I’ll talk about all of them, but if you choose to cancel your Bright Cellars from your online account, here are the steps to follow:
Log in – Open Bright Cellars’ website and log into your account.
Go to Account Settings – The Account Settings page holds information about your subscription and overall activity with the company.
Ask to cancel your subscription – Identify your active subscription and submit your cancelation request
Wait for confirmation – Bright Cellars will verify your account and confirm your cancelation request if everything is in order
Find a new wine delivery service – It’s time to try out new wine delivery services, starting with my top recommendation, Firstleaf.
If you choose to cancel via phone or contact form, you will have to chat with a Bright Cellars representative.
Bright Cellars makes it quite easy to cancel your subscription. Just make sure to submit your request up to 24 hours prior to shipment of the following order.
If you’re ready to go ahead with the cancelation from your online account, here are the steps to follow:
Login into your Bright Cellars account – Open Bright Cellars’ website and identify the login button in the upper-right corner. Click on it and fill out your login details.
Go to Account Settings – Once you’re logged into your account, find the Account Settings page. Here, you’ll find all the information related to your account, including your subscription details and order history.
Submit your cancelation request – Under Account Settings, find the section dedicated to your current subscription. Check to ensure you have no shipments in progress and submit your cancelation request.
You can also get to your subscription management page via the site's FAQ section. At the top of the FAQ page, you’ll see 3 buttons – Track Order, Cancel Order, and Report Issue. To submit a cancelation request, click on the Cancel Order button. This will take you straight to the subscription management page.
Wait for confirmation – Bright Cellars will verify your account and confirm your cancelation request via email. Keep in mind that you can re-activate your account and restart your subscription with Bright Cellars anytime you want.
You’re free to move on – Once you receive your confirmation email, you won’t receive any further Bright Cellars orders.
If you want to cancel by talking to a Bright Cellars representative, you have 2 options. First, you can call the Wine Concierge (available Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm CT) and ask them to cancel your subscription via phone.
Second, you can send a cancelation request via the Contact Us page. The Contact Us page is in the footer of the Bright Cellars website, under the Info section. This will take you to a contact form where you have to fill in your details (email, name, and reason for contact).
Once you’ve filled in your details, send the form and wait to be contacted. In less than a day, you should receive a call from a Bright Cellars concierge to help you cancel your wine subscription.
If you’re looking to expand your wine-tasting horizons, Firstleaf is a great point to start. With over 1,000 award-winning wines from all around the world, Firstleaf’s wine list is more extensive and diverse than Bright Cellar’s offer.
Firstleaf is great for beginners due to its wide range of educational materials. With each box of wine, you get notes and special food pairing tips (a feature that’s also available on Bright Cellars). But Firstleaf also has a Wine School section on its website, where anyone can learn about how to choose the perfect wine.
Most of Firstleaf’s wines are sourced from lesser-known regions. For example, you can get labels from Paso Robles and Lodi in California or some up-and-coming European regions. This way, Firstleaf’s wine list includes a diverse collection of varietals and grape varieties that may not be easily found in traditional stores.
Both Bright Cellars and Firstleaf want to learn about your preferences before making any recommendations. Firstleaf’s quiz has more questions, but I think the wines recommended by the algorithm are more accurate. So does my colleague, in their well-detailed Firstleaf review.
You also get to rate each bottle of wine to continue teaching the algorithm about your taste. But unlike Bright Cellars, which uses a star-based system, Firstleaf uses a thumbs-up or thumbs-down rating system. In my opinion, this makes it a lot easier – you either like and want to try a bottle of wine again, or you don’t.
In addition to the curated boxes, Firstleaf offers an online store. Here, you can purchase individual bottles or special bundles. There is also a Fine Wine collection, where you can find a wide range of award-winning labels. Bright Cellars offers a similar option, but you can only order bundles.
In terms of price, Firstleaf stands out as a reasonably affordable wine delivery service. At an average cost of $7.49 per bottle, you can enjoy internationally acclaimed wines without breaking the bank. Plus, Firstleaf has an amazing offer for newcomers – Get $100 off your first 3 boxes.
Firstleaf is a wine club that combines affordability with personalized recommendations and quality. The company’s innovative use of algorithms ensures that each delivery is tailored to your preferences, making it an enjoyable experience every time.
Naked Wines is the perfect choice if you’re looking for new and unique flavors. Besides an ever-changing selection of wines, Naked Wines is well-known for supporting small winemakers who don’t compromise quality over quantity.
The offer includes a diverse range of wines, with a focus on popular varieties from different regions. As such, you can choose varietals from the United States, particularly Napa Valley, or countries like Australia, Chile, France, Spain, and more. In total, you have over 660 wines to choose from.
Unlike Bright Cellars, Naked Wines won’t ask you questions about taste preferences. Instead, you are free to choose whichever bottles you want, be it a pre-built case or individual bottles. You still have the option to rate the wines you buy and receive some personalized recommendations.
One standout feature of Naked Wines is the Angel program. With Naked Wines, you don’t have a standard membership. Instead, you pay a monthly fee and become an “Angel” that supports independent winemakers in exchange for gaining access to exclusive wines. You can learn more about this in my colleague’s impressive Naked Wines review.
As an Angel, you get up to 60% off market prices, which makes Naked Wines quite affordable. Prices start at $7.99 per bottle for members, which is quite the difference compared to Bright Cellars. The minimum order is 6 bottles per order, which is a bit more than Bright Cellar’s 4 bottles.
I like that, with Naked Wines, there is no obligation to receive monthly shipments. You have full control over when and what you order. Also, I like that the Naked Wines rating system focuses on the percentage of customers who would buy a wine again and not vague ratings that offer no insight.
Overall, Naked Wines offers a unique wine-tasting experience. But if you like trying out new flavors and discovering new winemakers, this service may be a better fit than Bright Cellars.
Vinesse offers a remarkable selection of boutique wines that you can’t usually find in stores. Just like Naked Wines, Vinesse is focused on sourcing from smaller vineyards, which in turn provides wine club members with access to unique and exclusive labels.
With decades of experience, Vinesse has cultivated relationships with vineyards all over the world. So today’s club members get to choose from wines originating in well-known regions, such as France, Columbia, California, Argentina, or New Zealand.
Vinesse also uses the “would buy again” rating, which is more reliable than a star-based rating. This, paired with Vinesse's expertise in the wine industry and its meticulous sourcing process, is enough to see that you’re dealing with an outstanding provider.
Each bottle is hand-selected by a specialized tasting panel, which guarantees outstanding quality. Moreover, Vinesse can cater to most budgets and flavor profiles. Whether you're a seasoned connoisseur or a novice wine drinker, Vinesse has something for everyone. However, I would’ve liked to see more focus on educating novice wine drinkers.
I do enjoy the variety that makes Vinesse’s extensive wine collection shine. The wines here feature an impressive range of varietals. Members can choose between familiar flavors like Chardonnay and Merlot and more unique options such as Nebbiolo and Torrontes. This is how Vinesse stands out in front of other services, like Bright Cellars.
Another way to stand out is through pricing. Vinesse’s prices start at $10.00 per bottle for club members, which is quite affordable considering the level of variety and exclusivity.
You can also get creative beyond the standard subscription. As my colleague mentioned in their well-researched Vinesse review, there is an extensive online shop where you can purchase individual bottles or sampler packs containing 6 or 12 bottles.
Overall, Vinesse Wine Club is suitable for wine drinkers of all levels of expertise. Whether you're just starting your wine journey or are an experienced connoisseur, Vinesse has curated offerings that will satisfy even the most discerning palates.

Yes, Bright Cellars makes the cancelation process quite easy. You have several different methods to let the customer support team know you no longer wish to continue your subscription.
There are several alternatives to Bright Cellars. However, the best alternative differs between customers since every person has different needs. For instance, if you’re looking for a more varied selection of wines, then Firstleaf is a great alternative.
You can cancel a Bright Cellars subscription anytime you want. However, you should send your cancelation request up to 24 hours prior to the shipment of the following order. Otherwise, you will receive another box of wines before your subscription is canceled.
