But you can still sample many wines imported from the top 3 wine nations (Italy, Spain, and France) and other acclaimed wine countries, such as Chile, Australia, and Argentina. You can try over 400 wines from this company. 

Naked Wines offers over 260 reds and over 100 different bottles of white. There are fewer Rosés and sparklings – around 17 each – but still enough variety to enjoy.

The company has a great filtering system, letting you browse by various preferences. And Grape variants, Style, and Rating are a few. You can also browse by your favorite winemaker, region, and alcohol by volume (ABV) once you figure out what works for you best. With this wine club, you'll taste wines from celebrated wine-producing countries like France, Italy, Portugal, and Argentina. Notably, Argentina is renowned for its exceptional Malbec wines.

The company focuses on bringing you wines from award-winning estates. Its selection includes some reasonably-priced international and domestic options. But there are options for customers after bottles from the upper price range, too. A few noteworthy picks I recommend are 2021 3 Muses Cellars from Lodi, 2021 Aurelia Cellars Lodi California Zinfandel, and 2021 Chalkstone California Vermentino.

Vinesse has a great variety of whites, reds, sparklings, and rosés. Check the Shop Wines by Type filter to select red, white, or sparkling wines. But if you're after a couple of rosés, take a look at the Shop Wines by Varietal filter. You'll find them among a few dozen other varieties.

And only 1 of them costs over $20, and not by much. 

Wine Insiders has a diverse selection from around the world. The club offers dozens of bottles from the USA, Italy, and Spain. And there should be several options from Chile, South Africa, and Australia. If you look into Australian bottles, focus on those from New South Wales, Victoria, and South Australia. Adelaide in South Australia is one of the world's wine capitals. 

The wine delivery service has reds, whites, rosés, and sparklings. And the lion's share of these are dry wines, which you can sip during savory meals. Sweet/dessert and semi-sweet options were quite limited during my research for the Best Wine Clubs for Beginners review. I counted several among 200+ bottles. 

Wine Insiders also offers sommelier-curated sets. And some I would recommend to wine rookies are Best of France and Customer Favorites. 6. The California Wine Club – Top Choice for Fans of Californian Wines

The California Wine Club is a great option if you wish to try Golden State wines. It has over 100 bottles coming from Sonoma Valley, Napa Valley, and Lodi, among other regions. Napa Valley, in particular, is highly esteemed, competing against the iconic wine regions of France, Italy, and Spain. Go for Cabernet Sauvignon if you like reds. If you're into whites, you can't go wrong with Chardonnay.

The wine club primarily focuses on Golden State offerings. But it has around a dozen gems from other West Coast regions, namely Oregon and Washington. Note that the price of these bottles may be on the pricier side. So, if you're after some great local wines without emptying your wallet, the Californian bottles are your best bet.

I discovered that the service has wines from some lesser-known wine countries, conditionally speaking. And these are New Zealand, Germany, Austria, and Canada. I noted a lack of wines, however, from major regions like Chile, Argentina, and Australia. 

The wine club adds new bottles to its collection monthly, as stated in our expert review. So if a certain varietal or region is mission, it still might appear eventually. And if the service updates its German wine assortment, don't miss Riesling, the king of German wines.

A decent on-site filtering system lets you browse through the selection seamlessly. You can check the assortment through Categories, Red Wine, White Wine, Region, and Wine Club Levels filters, each containing at least a few sub-filters.

I think that Categories should be interesting to you in particular. Two of its 4 sub-filters are Best Values and Highly Rated Wines. Red and White Wine filters feature grape variants sub-filters. The business's pricing structure is pretty varied. But you can sample its low-cost wines for as little as $10.99. Note that the company has 6 wine clubs, and each charges a membership fee. The Wine Awesomeness has a unique offer I haven't seen in any other wine service I checked for this guide. It's a mystery box, and you won't know what's inside until it arrives at your doorstep. But you won't get just any wines because the company's sommeliers curate these packages, which include 12 bottles. A great way to add a bit of suspense and surprise, in my opinion.

The wine club offers a diverse selection of wines from many renowned wine regions. You'll find wines from Spain, France, Italy, and Chile in its collection, to name a few. You'll also spot bottles from Australia, South Africa, Portugal, and Slovenia, for example. Check our comprehensive review to learn more about the company’s wine collection.

What surprised me was the limited selection of wines from the USA. At the time of my research, only 6 bottles were available. In contrast, I found around 2 dozen French and almost as many Italian wines on the menu. So, if you're looking for American wines, I recommend researching Vinesse.

Wine Awesomeness has a filtering system comprising 10 categories, nearly as many as Naked Wines. And by country, by collection, by type, and new are some. Last I checked, the spring faves filter, which hit me as a great 1 for wine newbies, didn't have matching products. Nonetheless, I recommend you check it if you opt for this service.

You can also use the by grape filter to search for your favorite variant. Some available options are Merlot, Shiraz, and Sauvignon Blanc. But note that not all wines made of the same grape are equal. If you go for Malbec, for example, Argentinian Malbecs taste sweeter than French due to various factors, including region and oak aging. 

Check by type to browse red, white, rosé, sparkling, or organic wines. If you're looking for a bargain, don't miss the last call 40% off filter. Note that these discounted bottles tend to sell out quickly, so don’t hesitate too long.

Macy's Wine Shop may not be one of the top wine delivery services ranked by our experts. But it has a dedicated collection of wedding wines, unlike most wine clubs I checked. Select Collections and then the Wedding Wine Shop sub-category to check it out. Just note that reds may outnumber whites by a large margin. If you're more into whites, check out gift sets.

Gift sets are available in under $50 and under $100 price ranges. You can get a 3-bottle set for less than $50. The Under $100 range consists of 3- and 6-bottle boxes. If you need more, go for 12-bottle Lux Gifts that typically cost between $200 and $250.

I was surprised to learn that Argentina is barely represented in Macy's Wine Shop. During the research for my Best Wine Clubs for Beginners review, I found only 1 Argentine wine in the entire assortment. If you insist on Argentine wines, I'd recommend checking out Firstleaf. It has a decent selection of reasonably-priced Argentine wines, most of which are award winners.

The wine club has 2 great starting points if you're unsure where to start. And these are Sommelier's Choice and Customer Favorites, which feature reds and whites. But if you're into rosés and sparklings, you'll find them in the main menu's filtering system. These options are way fewer, though. So, I'd recommend checking out Naked Wines, which has dozens of these options.

You can also explore wines based on your preferred grape variety. If you have a penchant for reds, choose Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, or Merlot, among other alternatives. For white wine enthusiasts, some great options are Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, and Sauvignon Blanc. Check French Chardonnays, or more precisely, those from the Burgundy region.

There are other handy filters you can use to shortlist options. And these are Country, Price, and Vintage. The Country category features renowned wine nations for the most part, and South Africa is 1 of them. Some available price ranges are Under $10, $15-$20, and $30+. Available vintages typically range from 2015 to 2022, depending on the wine type and availability. 

The service has other Collections besides the ones I mentioned. And some of these are New Arrivals, Vegan, and Organic. But at the time of my review, only Organic yielded a few results. Still, I think it's worth checking them out occasionally. 

Macy's Wine Shop delivers to 40 contiguous US states. It currently doesn't provide service to Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Kentucky, Mississippi, Rhode Island, South Dakota, and Utah. For more shipping details, check out our full review.

The Premier Series is the most popular wine club among the members by a long shot. As a member, you get 2 boutique wines each month, either red, white, or 1 of each. You can buy only red and white wines from this wine subscription service. You won't find sparkling or rosé wines on its menu. If you crave these wines, I suggest turning your attention to Wine Insiders. 

Use the search bar to browse wines by name. Or sort the bottles by type (red or white), grape variety (Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, etc.), and country of origin (France, South Africa, etc.), among other options, by using the menu options. While it isn't among the few leading wine nations, South Africa produces excellent wines, so make sure to check them out.

The absence of Spanish wines took me aback. But I was pleasantly surprised to discover bottles from Armenia, Uruguay, and Austria since I enjoy trying wines from a variety of regions, not just the most renowned ones.

You're on your own when choosing wines from Monthly Clubs. The wine club doesn't have a wine customization questionnaire to help guide your selections. If you'd prefer expert help to tailor choices to your taste preferences, think about opening a Firstleaf account.

Winc sources wines from vineyards focusing on sustainable wine production. It partners with wine producers that adhere to eco-friendly practices. And it's a member of the 1% for the Planet organization, which donates 1% of sales to environmental causes. 

You can pick bottles or take an on-site quiz for a more personalized experience. By answering a few questions, Winc's sommeliers get a sense of your taste preferences and curate a box tailored to your palate.

You have to become a member to access Winc's wine selection. The service doesn't offer a la carte shopping, as confirmed in our in-depth review. But there's an upside to this business strategy if you're mindful of how much you spend. By joining, you enjoy discounts on the regular prices.

The quiz offered by Winc consists of a few questions. These relate to your preferences for white or red wines, the flavors you like, and the wine regions you're curious about. While I find the quiz helpful, it's not particularly detailed. Try Bright Cellars if you're looking for a more precise and tailored experience to increase the odds of finding your ideal wine.

Winc has around 50 wines available. About one third were from the USA, primarily from California, when I checked. Some options that drew my attention were 2022 Debts & Lessons Riesling and the 2019 Broad & Pattison Rosé. The company also has bottles from France, Italy, and South Africa, among other regions. 2021 Cape Route Pinotage and 2020 Far + Wide Negroamaro were some alternatives.
