10 Best Same Day Wine Delivery Services 2024: Rated

Many wine clubs offer the convenience of recurring deliveries, providing regular shipments of your favorite wines. Of course, you have complete control over the delivery frequency. For example, you can set up weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly deliveries. Depending on where you live, deliveries can take place at specific intervals, such as Monday through Friday or Tuesday through Saturday.

Wine delivery services go beyond the mere convenience of having wine delivered to your door. Some help connoisseurs tailor selections to their tastes. Top-notch wine clubs have concierge support, providing personalized assistance. But each provider among our 10 best same-day wine delivery services offers top-notch domestic and international wines for reasonable prices.

My colleagues and I agree that Firstleaf is the best wine subscription service. It provides speedy deliveries that can take as little as a few days after you place your order. And it has plenty of award-winners on offer for every budget. Still, check out our other favorites because they have unique strengths that could tip the scales in their favor, depending on your preferences.

Same Day Wine Delivery Services Reviewed

1. Firstleaf – Best Wine Subscription Service Overall

Firstleaf's Firth & Vale

Key Features

Firstleaf stands out in the world of wine delivery for its fast delivery times. Once it processes the order, your bottles can arrive in as little as 3 days. Serving wine enthusiasts across the mainland US, including Hawaii and Alaska, Firstleaf ensures wide accessibility. Utah and Mississippi are the only states where Firstleaf doesn't ship due to state regulations.

But this wine club stands out in many other regards, too. Competitively priced bottles, many award-winning wines, concierge service, and a wine personalization quiz are just a few. Whatever your grape preference, you’ll find award-winning wines in your favorite selection. Moreover, the company's sommeliers source great wines, both acclaimed ones and hidden gems, globally.

You can buy red, white, sparkling, and rosé wines from Firstleaf. Reds are the most dominant by far, counting 158 bottles at the time of my review. Whites followed with 98 alternatives, while rosés and sparklings were 19 and 8, respectively.

Firstleaf's Weelderige Velde

Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz (Syrah) are the most numerous among reds, followed by Pinot Noir and Grenache. Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay lead among whites, with Pinot Gris (Grigio) and other varieties also present. You can choose from dozens of grape varietals. As highlighted in our full review, most bottles typically contain 750 ml of wine.

Explore wines based on their region of origin. The most prominently featured country is the USA, with nearly 100 options. Other well-represented countries include South Africa, Spain, Australia, and France, each with over 2 dozen alternatives available at my last check.

You can delve into Firstleaf's Specialty wines and Fine Wine Collection. Within the Specialty range, you'll find dozens of options like Lower Alcohol Wines, Keto-friendly Wines (pair these with Factor’s meals), and Eco-friendly Wines. The Fine Wine Collection features an array of reds and whites, including notable labels such as Bramble & Bower and Le Temps des Récoltes.

If you enjoy exploring different wines, Firstleaf's Featured Bundles may be the right choice. These sets may focus on a specific type of wine, like red or white, or provide a mix, such as a combo of whites and rosés. Typically, these sets come in quantities of 3, 6, 12, or 15 bottles.

If unsure where to start, take the on-site wine personalization quiz. Upon completion, you'll get recommendations tailored to your unique palate. Should you find any suggestions that are not to your liking, you can replace bottles.

Reach out to Firstleaf's 24/7 concierge service for any information. The team is knowledgeable and forthcoming, serving the wine club members and guests.

This wine subscription service offers quality wines at reasonable prices, with deals beginning at $7.49. Opt for at least 12 wines to enjoy free shipping. You'll pay the flat $14.95 shipping fee for smaller orders.

2. Naked Wines – Best Wines for Budget Hunters

Naked Wines' Benjamin Darnault Pique Nique Rosé 2022

Key Features

  • The wine club has over 150 gold medal winners

  • Rate wines to get more personalized suggestions

  • The company has an extensive filtering system

  • Current deal: Get 50% Off!

Naked Wines excels in delivery speed, typically ensuring that your wines arrive in 1 to 4 business days. You can view estimated delivery times during the checkout phase when placing your order. Deliveries occur from Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Saturday, depending on your location. The company ships across the continental US, Alaska, and Hawaii.

The business stands out for offering great wines at affordable prices. The service crowdfunds independent wine producers, helping them manage production while securing wines at privileged prices, some costing less than $10 on its website. This approach cuts out the middlemen, significantly reducing costs. Besides budget hunters, the club caters to discerning connoisseurs.

Naked Wines consistently offers hundreds of bottles. When I last checked, it featured over 400 wines, occasionally expanding to a selection of over 500. The range includes whites, reds, sparklings, and rosés. Reds and whites were plentiful, with 272 and 116 options, respectively. Fans of sparkling and rosé wines can choose from dozens of options.

Naked Wines' Buzzworthy Wines 11-Pack

Besides individual wines, you can opt for sommelier-curated sets. These usually contain 6, 11, or 12 bottles of reds, whites, or both. Some I highly recommend are the mixed Buzzworthy Wines 11-Pack (pictured), Top-Rated Red Wines 11-Pack, and Essential Whites 6-Pack.

You can benefit from a comprehensive filtering system. This feature helps you filter wines by grape varieties, countries, alcohol content, and even specific winemakers. If you're new to wines, the Rating filter is a helpful tool to shortlist wines based on their popularity. You can use 11 different filters to research bottles.

The wine subscription service has a wide selection of grape varieties on offer. Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Shiraz, and Zinfandel are some leading reds. Chardonnay, Moscato, and Chenin Blanc are white variants. Red and white blends are also available. If you are unfamiliar with grape varieties, you can search by style (Fruity White, Smooth Red, etc.), as pointed out in our in-depth review.

Rate the wines you purchase to fine-tune your future selections. The more bottles you rate, the more refined suggestions you'll get. If you prefer personalized suggestions from the start, including award-winning wines, take Firstleaf's detailed bottle personalization quiz.

Enjoy various perks by becoming a Naked Wines Angel member for $40 monthly. Some I find the most appealing are discounts of up to 60% off market prices and online tastings with wine producers. Also, you gain access to specially selected wines that are unavailable to non-members.

The provider has some super-affordable bottles, starting at $7.99. If mindful of your budget, use a handy filter to set spending limits under $10 or between $10 and $15. The shipping fee varies depending on how much you order, but is usually $9.99 if you don't qualify for free shipping.

3. Vinesse – Best Bottles From Awarded Wine Producers

Vinesse's 2021 Bridge Trail Lodi Chardonnay

Key Features

Vinesse is a great choice for wine lovers buying individual wines in terms of delivery. The company usually processes orders quickly, shipping them on the same or next day. The company processes member shipments on Monday.

Transit times for most customers in the contiguous US are from 1 to 3 days. This qualifies the wine club for the top of our list of the best same-day wine delivery services. Delivery times are longer only for a few West Coast states, Hawaii, and Alaska.

The wine club offers wines from acclaimed winemakers worldwide for reasonable prices. Besides local wines, primarily from California, you can secure bottles from famous wine-producing regions, such as France, Italy, and Australia, among others.

You can find a variety of red, white, rosé, and sparkling wines in the online wine club's assortment. Reds typically dominate the selection, with around 70 options available at the time of my review. There were also about 50 choices in whites and 7 in rosés. Sparkling wines tend to run out of stock, but it doesn’t happen often, in my experience. Read more about the service’s assortment in our full review.

You can find reasonably-priced options among the Vinesse Exclusive bottles. My personal favorites are the white 2021 Bridge Trail Lodi Chardonnay (image above) and the red 2021 3 Muses Cellars Lodi, California Petite Sirah (image below), each priced around $20. But if you're interested in popular customer choices under $10, Naked Wines is a better option. Vinesse's 2021 3 Muses Cellars Lodi, California Petite Sirah

Vinesse also caters to discerning wine enthusiasts with a selection of premium bottles. Prices for these fine wines can range well over $40, sometimes reaching up to $80 or more. Some notable examples at the time of my review were the American 2019 Clos Pegase Napa Valley Petit Verdot and the Australian 2019 Spur Ridge Australia Shiraz.

Use a filtering system to find your favorite wines. You can narrow down options by type, price, and grape varietal. The Varietal filter features over 2 dozen grape varieties, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Pinot Noir. But I find the lack of a regional filter inconvenient. To browse wines by country, check out Firstleaf.

Vinesse offers various attractive membership benefits. A special price for your first shipment, wines hand-picked by expert sommeliers, and access to exclusive wines not available in stores are some of them. What's more, the company guarantees to send replacements for any wines you don't like.

The request to provide a business address during signup may confuse you. But this optional step can expedite delivery by a day.

The cost per bottle begins from $10.00. Shipping and handling fees vary based on the size of your order and your location.

4. Bright Cellars – Best Wine Delivery for Bulk Orders

Bright Cellars' Wine of the World bundle

Key Features

  • The service sells wine bundles only

  • Take a detailed wine personalization survey

  • You can buy Margaritas from this wine delivery

Bright Cellars is another outstanding wine delivery service in my book. It may not ship orders as quickly as the top 3 wine delivery services, but it compensates for that in other ways. For example, it has forthcoming customer support that is ready to go the extra mile to accommodate your requests. Read more about this in our complete review.

After placing your order, you'll receive tracking information within 1 to 3 days. Once your package is dispatched, it typically arrives within the next 5 days. This wine subscription service provides delivery throughout the continental United States, except for Utah, Mississippi, and Delaware.

Bright Cellars sells wines only in bundles, so buying individual bottles isn't an option. If you're interested in buying fewer bottles, even as few as 1 per order, consider Firstleaf. It offers a wide selection of award-winning wines from across the globe.

Bright Cellars has red, white, sparkling, and rosé wines in its collection. It sources bottles from renowned wine-producing regions such as Italy, Spain, and France, among others. It also has a selection of American wines, most of which hail from the distinguished wine regions of California and Washington.

You can buy pre-determined bundles from Bright Cellars, typically consisting of 4 or 6 bottles. Appealing options for red wine enthusiasts are the Apostate Zinfandel and Cactus Park Pinot Noir Passo Robles Bundles. My white favorites are Silverscape Chenin Blanc and Sprig & Rose Pinot Grigio Bundles. The only Sparkling + Rosé option available during my review was the Stigma Private Reserve Bundle (pictured).

Or you can take the on-site wine personalization quiz to get a tailored wine selection. As a wine novice, you may find some questions strange. But remember, wine experts have crafted this quiz to help you understand your taste preferences better.

After completing the survey, you'll receive personalized recommendations. In my experience, the match rate varied from 97% to 92%. You can also explore available substitutions to find an alternative that may suit you better.

Besides wines, Bright Cellars offers a selection of Margaritas. During my research, I discovered that it provides strawberry- and lime-flavored Margs. Some available options are the Day & Night Variety Margarita Bundle and the Day & Night Fresh Strawberry Margarita Bundle.

Join Bright Cellars and enjoy perks, such as a 20% discount and early access to hand-picked wine bundles. While I find the benefits of the Bright Cellars membership attractive, my personal preference leans more toward the Vinesse membership offerings.

The cost of each bundle at Bright Cellars depends on its type and the number of bottles included. The most budget-friendly option costs $10.00. Order a box containing 6 or more bottles for free delivery. For smaller orders, the fixed delivery fee is $10.

5. Wine Insiders – Best for French Wine Connoisseurs

Wine Insiders' 2019 Cala De' Poeti Maremma Toscana D.O.C.

Key Features

  • You can buy celebrity-curated sets

  • The service has a Vintage filter

  • The wine club sells individual bottles and sets

Wine Insiders prides itself on fast shipping. If you place an order by 1:00, it’ll ship on the same day. Depending on your exact location, typical transit times range from 1 to 5 days.

But note that Wine Insiders delivers to fewer US states compared to higher-ranking services in my 10 Best Same Day Wine Delivery Services article. It doesn't deliver to Utah, Mississippi, South Dakota, Arkansas, Kentucky, Delaware, Rhode Island, Hawaii, or Alaska.

The wine delivery service gets most of its bottles from France (65, when I reviewed) and nearly as many from the USA (61). A considerable number of offerings come from Italy (40) and Spain (26). Wine Insiders also sources its wines from other prominent wine-producing regions, including Argentina, Chile, and South Africa.

You can find white, red, sparkling, and rosé wines in the online wine shop's assortment. Reds are the most numerous by far (144, when I checked), followed by whites (79). The rosé assortment is pretty decent (22), while sparklings are usually the fewest (6). When I compared my findings with my colleague’s observations in their review, I found that the sparkling and rosé assortments are pretty constant.

You’ll find a selection of red wines that include Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Pinot Noir, and Sangiovese, among other grape varieties. For white wine lovers, there are varieties such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Moscato, and Riesling, to name a few. Most rosé wines were red blends, although some were made from Pinot Grigio and Garnacha (Grenache).

You can go big and buy wine sets. These come in country- and type-based variants, and more. Some I'd order any time are Best of France, Crisp Whites & Sparkles, and Sippable Spanish Reds Trio. Sets typically come in packages of 3, 6, and 12 bottles. But if you go for bundles, I think that the custom bundles from Bright Cellars may suit you better.

Wine Insiders has Martha Stewart, Ludo Lefebvre, and Geoffrey Zakarian curate its sets. You can check each celebrity's wine selection on the website.

The company has a convenient filtering system that lets you browse bottles by country, varietal, and more. Notably, its Vintage filter, covering several recent years, is this particular wine club's standout feature.

You enjoy various perks by joining the wine club. These include a 10% discount and a free bottle for orders of 6 or more wines.

Wine from Wine Insiders starts at $8.99 per bottle. Shipping is free on orders of 6 bottles or more. For packages with fewer than 6 bottles, there is a shipping charge of $14.95. You also pay the $2.95 processing fee.

6. The California Wine Club – Top Choice for Fans of the Golden State Wines

The California Wine Club's Rescue Dog 2022 Lodi Sauvignon Blanc

Key Features

  • The service specializes in West Coast wines

  • You can buy red and white wines

  • Join any of the 6 wine clubs

The California Wine Club has an efficient delivery system with 2 shipping options. Standard deliveries typically arrive within 2 business days from the order date. If you need your wines urgently, choose air delivery to get your bottles in 1 day. This wine club provides shipping services across the USA. Type your zip code to see if you qualify for delivery. Learn more in our review.

As its name suggests, The California Wine Club is a great option for fans of Californian wines. You'll find bottles from renowned regions such as Lodi, Napa Valley, and Sonoma Valley. These wines are generally affordable, which is why this wine subscription service is among the best cheap wine deliveries.

The club extends its offerings to selections from Oregon and Washington on the West Coast, too. But these wines are generally pricier than Californian wines, catering to discerning wine lovers.

The wine subscription service offers a modest assortment of international wines. You can regularly find a few options from Italy, France, Spain, Chile, and Canada. For a large selection of French wines and nearly as many American bottles, consider subscribing to Wine Insiders. The California Wine Club's Rescue Dog 2021 Lodi

The wine club features a filtering system that allows you to browse wines by popular grape varietals, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc. Other main filtering categories include Region, Categories (like Collectibles and Beyond California), and Wine Club Levels.

The California Wine Club has 6 wine clubs, the most compared to other wine delivery services I’ve reviewed so far. Thus, it caters to connoisseurs with different tastes and preferences. The wine clubs you can choose from are:

  • Premier Series – offering specially-selected bottles from small Californian wine producers

  • Signature Series – boasting artisanal wines featuring 90+ points and gold medals

  • International Series – providing handcrafted wines from around the world

  • Aged Cabernet Series – offering Cabernet wines aged between 7 and 12 years

  • Pacific Northwest Series – catering to fans of whites and reds from Oregon and Washington

  • Case Club Series – supplying you with 12 bottles of red winwhite wines or both

When shopping at this wine club, you'll have to rely on your instincts to select wines. If you prefer receiving recommendations tailored to your palate, Firstleaf may be a better choice. This club offers an impressive match rate, based on my experience, letting you change the recommended options if they don't align with your preferences.

The cost of The California Wine Club wines depends on the specific club and the wines you select. Prices begin at $10.99 per bottle. Besides, there is a standard shipping fee of $16, plus any applicable handling charges.

7. Wine Awesomeness – Great for International Wine Aficionados

Wine Awesomeness's 2021 Bacanisimo Tempranillo/Monastrell

Key Features

  • The wine club sources wines from around the world

  • The company has a decent selection of American wines

  • You can buy mystery bottles and packs curated by wine experts

Wine Awesomeness generally has longer transit times compared to other services in our best same-day wine delivery overview. Typically, it ships bottles within 2 or 3 business days. After dispatch, it takes an extra 1 to 5 days for the delivery to reach customers, depending on their location.

Wine enthusiasts in California and New York benefit from quicker transit times thanks to the company's warehouses in these states. But note that the wine club doesn't deliver to Utah, Mississippi, Arkansas, South Dakota, and West Virginia. If you live in any of these mainland states, plus Alaska and Hawaii, Vinesse can deliver its wines to you

Wine Awesomeness regularly has hundreds of bottles on offer, with a significant emphasis on red wines, numbering 159 at the time of my review. This makes it 1 of the best red wine clubs in my book. White wines follow with 77 options, while rosé and sparkling wines are far behind, with 15 and 5 options, respectively. Wine Awesomeness's Imperio Brut sparkling wine

Wine Awesomeness has a comprehensive filtering system that lets you shortlist preferred options. The most useful ones, in my opinion, are by grape, country, and type. But the trouble is that you can use only 1 filter at a time. To browse bottles across multiple filters at the same time, check out Naked Wines, which has 1 of the most extensive filtering systems among wine clubs.

The by grape filter includes popular red and white varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Chardonnay. The by country filter is more extensive, featuring wines from well- and lesser-known regions like France, Italy, Slovenia, and Austria. The by type filter categorizes wines into reds, whites, sparklings, or rosés.

You can buy wine packs in addition to individual bottles. During my last check, there were nearly 30 different bundles available, varying in size from 3 to 15 bottles. Some of my personal favorites are the Signature Wine Grapes 15-Pack and the Wonderful Winter Chardonnays 8-Pack.

As mentioned in our complete review, you can add an element of surprise, alongside privileged prices, if you go for mystery packs. These curated boxes contain excellent wines you may not consider buying. You can typically choose between reds, whites, rosés, and a mix of those.

Join the Discovery Wine Club to enjoy various perks. You can pick bottles or have expert sommeliers curate them for you, for example. Opt to receive 3, 6, or 12 bottles of whites, reds, or a mix each month. As a member, you'll also benefit from a 20% discount on the entire wine subscription service's assortment.

The cost per bottle starts from $13.25. Wine Awesomeness doesn't charge for shipping for orders over $150. Otherwise, it calculates the price of delivery based on your location and the weight of the package.

8. Macy’s Wine Shop – Best for White Wine Aficionados

Macy's Wine Shop's 2021 Casa De La Luna Selección de Enólogo Sauvignon Blanc

Key Features

  • The service curates wines for weddings

  • The wine shop has a large selection of red blends

  • You can browse among dozens of Sauvignon Blanc bottles

Macy's Wine Shop ranks high among our same-day wine delivery services for delivery speed. It dispatches orders placed before 1 pm the same day, with typical transit times for wine lovers ranging from 1 to 3 days, depending on location.

Still, the shipping coverage is more limited compared to higher-ranking wine clubs. You can’t buy from this provider if you live in Rhode Island, Delaware, Kentucky, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, South Dakota, Utah, Hawaii, or Alaska. If you live in any mainland US state save Utah, Mississippi, or Delaware, you can order from Bright Cellars.

Macy's Wine Shop is an excellent choice for fans of white wines. At the time of my review, the online store had over 100 whites on offer. This fact made it 1 of the best white wine delivery services in the market.

The online store boasts a particularly large collection of Sauvignon Blancs (30 at the time of my review). Casa de la Luna (pictured above), Sacred Hill, and Sous L'Ocean are some alternatives. Chardonnays and white blends are also prominently featured, each with a selection of 21 bottles. Macy's Wine Shop's Beau Palais red blend

But the service particularly stands out for its collection of red blends. It consistently has dozens of these reds, and the last time I checked, it had 73 bottles of these wines. Beau Palais (in the image), Villa Amoroso, and Vespertine are a few of them.

Macy's Wine Shop sources wines from many wine regions across the globe. The majority of its bottles come from France, the USA, and Italy, but you can also find bottles from Chile, Australia, and Spain. Lesser-known wine nations like Hungary and New Zealand are also represented.

The provider also has various wine sets on offer but you can also buy sets of 3, 6, or 12 bottles. Find out more about those from our full review. Also, note that the bundles you can order may vary depending on your state of residence. Global Tasting Case, Fine French Wines Case, and Crisp Wines Case are some favorites of mine.

Macy's Wine Shop has a dedicated wedding selection, a feature I particularly appreciate. There, you can find a selection of sommelier and customer favorites, as well as award-winning bottles suited for special occasions. Available options include reds, whites, rosés, sparklings, and cases. For an especially large selection of award-winners, check out Firstleaf

Become a Macy's Wine Shop member to enjoy inviting perks. If you register an account, you can replace bottles that don't match your expectations and pay less.

Buy 6 or more wines to bypass the $14.95 delivery fee. The most affordable Macy's Wine Shop's wines cost $10.99.

9. Monthly Clubs – Best Delivery Service for Wine and Cheese Lovers

Monthly Clubs' Bourgogne Côte d’Or

Key Features

  • The company has several clubs besides the wine club

  • You can choose between 4 wine clubs

  • The provider has reds and whites on offer

With Monthly Clubs, your first order ships quickly and should arrive within a few days. Next orders usually arrive on the third or fourth week of the month. Note that the company delivers to all mainland US states, except Alabama, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, and Utah.

You can join not only a wine club but cheese, chocolate, beer, cigar, and flower clubs, too. As someone who enjoys pairing top-notch wines with cheese, I was particularly pleased to discover that the service’s Cheese Club offers a variety of gourmet and rare cheeses. Thanks to its selection of clubs, you can send some of the best wine club gifts to someone dear to you through this provider.

The wine club has only reds and whites on offer. Its selection of reds is larger compared to whites (51 to 17). For a larger assortment of these wines, as well as sparklings and rosés, I suggest checking out Wine Insiders. Monthly Clubs' Walt Sonoma Coast Chardonnay 2020

Monthly Clubs has a detailed filtering system to help you quickly find your favorite wines. You can select wines by type (red or white), grape varietal, or country. Notably, French wines traditionally dominate the service's selection. When I last checked, there were 20 bottles from France in its assortment, while Australia and Portugal trailed behind with 7 bottles each.

Monthly Clubs features a Grape Varietals filter with dozens of options to choose from. Some varieties that ring a bell to my ears are Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Riesling, and Tempranillo. While I find the filtering system sophisticated, it’s not as detailed as Naked Wines’ filtering system, which lets you browse winemakers, too.

The wine delivery service has 4 wine clubs on offer. These are:

  • The Premier Series – offering limited-production boutique wines

  • The Bold Reds – featuring red wines from globally celebrated wine regions

  • The Collectors Series – delivering rare bottles containing the best vintage grapes

  • The Masters Series – providing 1 bottle each of The Premier and The Collectors Series

The Premier Series is the most popular by far, besides being the cheapest. It has a 5-star rating from 113 reviewers, while the other clubs have the same rating from 13 to 20 reviewers.

While Monthly Clubs doesn't have a wine personalization service, it has a Satisfaction Guarantee in place. This means that you can ask for a replacement or refund if you don't like the wine you receive, as highlighted in our in-depth review.

Monthly Clubs caters to wine enthusiasts with varying budgets. Its most budget-friendly bottles start at $20.98. Note that you'll have to calculate the shipping fee, which usually ranges from $15 to $36, depending on the size of your order.

10. WSJ Wine – Top Option for Mixed Wine Cases

WSJ Wine's Rich Spanish Red Discoveries

Key Features

  • The company has over 100 wine cases

  • Join 1 of 2 available wine clubs

  • You can buy whites, reds, sparklings, and rosés

Wall Street Journal Wine ships nationwide, including Alaska and Hawaii. The 5 states it doesn’t deliver to are Utah, Mississippi, Arkansas, Delaware, and Rhode Island. From my research, the estimated delivery time is around 7 days, regardless of your location, whether it's Houston, Los Angeles, or New York.

WSJ Wine almost made it to our list of the best wine delivery services. It didn't make the cut for a couple of reasons, and its delivery times aren't impressive compared to some of the other providers featured in the 10 Best Same Day Wine Delivery Services article. But it makes up for it with its wide assortment of wine sets in the first place.

The service had over 100 wine cases in its assortment, more than any other company I've reviewed. It offers red, white, sparkling, and rosé bottles, either packaged separately or mixed and matched. Some I like are Rich Spanish Red Discoveries, Ultra-Rare Reds in Wood Box, Discover Vin de France, Gold-Medal Cellar Stars Mix, and Vibrant California White Wine.

WSJ Wine's Vibrant California White Wine

You can buy individual bottles in addition to wine sets. The company organizes its offerings into 5 categories – Red, White, Rosé, Champagne & Sparkling, and Dessert Wine. The wine club's sommeliers source wines globally and include both popular and lesser-known grape varieties. But as mentioned in our review, the service’s primary focus is on familiar regions and vintages.

While browsing the site, I found offerings from France, the USA, Italy, Spain, and many other celebrated wine nations. The online wine store also had bottles from Great Britain, Greece, and some other off-the-grid countries.

Wall Street Journal Wine provides a detailed filtering system to help you navigate its wine selection. The filters for sets and individual bottles are slightly different. But you can browse offerings by country, grape variety, and region. If you're looking specifically for wines from a favorite producer, Naked Wines may be a better option.

WSJ Wine has 2 wine clubs for you to choose from. These are The Discovery Club and The Premier Club. If you find yourself a cosmopolitan wine enthusiast, The Discovery Club is right for you. If you're a discerning connoisseur enjoying rare finds, The Premier Club should suit you better. If neither is what you're looking for, check out The California Wine Club, boasting 6 wine clubs.

The wine delivery caters to both budget-conscious buyers and those seeking premium wines. Use the Price filter, with the ranges from Less Than $10 to $30+, to set your budget. Still, the majority of options (245, at the time of my review) fall within the $15 to $20 range. You can have the most affordable bottles for as little as $8.99.

Tips for Choosing the Best Same Day Wine Delivery Service

Selecting the ideal same-day wine delivery service can seem overwhelming with a plethora of options available. Many services provide recurring deliveries, each with different transit times. Identifying those that don't dawdle is a good place to start, though. But to find the wine club that aligns with your other needs, focus on these 4 factors:

  • Think about grape varieties and regions. Soil and geographic regions greatly influence the taste of a wine. For example, wines made from the same grape variety but originating in Europe and South America may have different flavors. You may also have specific preferences regarding flavor profile or alcohol content. Naked Wines has a great filtering system for easy navigation.

  • Establish a budget. The wine deliveries I reviewed cater to all financial considerations. In my opinion, Firstleaf delivers the best value for money across all budget levels. Much of its collection consists of award-winning wines, with many boasting multiple accolades, sometimes as many as a dozen.

  • Consider taking a wine personalization quiz. Completing a sommelier-designed survey is beneficial for both beginners and seasoned connoisseurs. Such a questionnaire helps you get the right wines with a minimal chance of disappointment. Bright Cellars has a great wine customization quiz, 1 of the most detailed ones I've taken.

  • Think about joining a wine club. Becoming a wine club member provides a variety of perks. Special pricing for subscribers, returning wines that don't match your expectations, and exclusive access to special gifts and offers are some of them. In this regard, Vinesse stands out for its range of member advantages.

FAQ

Which is the best wine delivery?

This largely depends on individual preferences. Many expert wine reviewers agree that Firstleaf deserves the top spot. It offers reasonably priced, even downright affordable wines, 1 of the best wine customization quizzes, and an exceptional concierge service. What's more, a significant portion of its bottles have won at least 1 accolade, while some counted up to 12.

How much is a bottle of wine in NYC?

Based on research, wine enthusiasts in New York City can find a bottle of good wine for around $20 on average when shopping at physical stores. Yet, Naked Wines is a more cost-effective alternative. Its Angel members can enjoy outstanding wines for as little as $10 or even less. And it delivers the wines you select to your doorstep.

Is a $20 bottle of wine good?

Yes, a bottle of wine with a $20 price tag is a safe bet for most wine aficionados. But none of them are created equal. To have a 20-buck wine whose value exceeds its price, consider subscribing to Vinesse.
